I'm a woodshop teacher and one thing about us woodworkers is we have a tendency to overcomplicate things. I was looking for an easy design for a foldout table to put in my laundry room. I love this. Nothing fancy, but it looks good and works great. Super simple. Thank you
Yeah…it’s SUPER nice to watch a vid of a Woodworker who has skill and isn’t a show off. Eyes glaze over at the size of their workspace or how many saws and tables they use. This is one of the best how to videos that shows you and keeps your enthusiasm for making it yourself! Thank you🎩
With this video and the help of my whole family (wife & 2 teenager kids) - we build one!! Thank you. We built one long enough to have our kids attend virtual classes - 64” x 20” !!
Just made this for the bedroom in my college house that I moved into as I have no floor space to put a legitimate desk. super helpful as all other designs I have seen are a traditional murphy but i wanted to leave room on the wall above to mount a monitor for my laptop. very happy with the finished product, thank you!
Love it! I'm going to make a smaller version for my kitchen and use as extra counter space. Living in a studio apartment, I have very little space to set things down, while cooking.
@@thecoralchannel Anyone that has done this project or the Coral people can someone please help me find the plans to this project. I would really like to build it but I need to know some specifics thanks! The links don't work anymore to the plans that were set up here.
lazrrat you know plenty. Most home centers sell magnets strong enough to withstand a bump. They won’t lock it in but it won’t collapse with magnets in there.
DIY Danie! I didn't know this was Danie when I clicked on this tutorial. I've gotten so used to the purple hair that I didn't even recognize her until I heard her voice. This build was exactly what I was looking for! DIY Danie is a creative beast! 🤓💜🐕💪🎨🖌📐🛠👽🖖
Pretty sweet - thanks for posting! Not sure if I follow what the reason for the 1" x 10" long 'spacers' you put on the bottom side of the desk but it will probably make sense once I start the build. I think I will add a small stop on those pieces to make sure the support legs cant be knocked out on accident and collapse the desk. Thanks again!
Just an assumption, if they are tight the to the bottom of the desk when you fold the L brackets in to close the desk they will hit the round part of the hinge on the bottom(look at 2:58), materiel she already had was a good spacer. Love the idea btw, building it this week for my daughters room.
Most people won't have a circular saw handy for the longer rip cuts. Many places that will sell you pine board and lumber will rip the pieces to what you need, particularly if you ask nicely. Rough cuts being rough, a little sand paper (100 + 200/250 grit) will finish those ends nicely. Nice little project, Coral!
why didn't I see this before. Its sparked an idea to extend my work bench...i am really running short of space. Simply and effective design. Thanks a lot!
Very sweet desk. I'm making this for my wife in our bedroom so she can use it for school. I've been looking for an easy design to put in our room and this is it. Too cool.
if you add a1x2 on each end of the 36in. board you will have 39in. to come up with 36in. overall you will have to cut 3in. off of the board that screws to the wall.
Finally found the idea i need for my room project. I think i can also put some flat stoge under the table attached to the wall for papers, magazines and even laptop. Thanks for this video. 👍🏻😁
Great work! Thank you! Any thoughts on preventing someone from accidentally bumping the L-brackets while you’re working? I’m thinking like a dead bolt that locks it into place once the desk is up… it could be attached to the L brackets and there could be a hole in the spacer piece for it to bolt into.
Shubham Sanadhya we are so happy that this will work for you! Give it a go and send us some photos on Twitter, Instagram (@CoralTV) or on facebook (@TheCoralChannel)! We’d love to showcase some of the work our viewers do
This is an awesome, straight to the point and truly DIY project, after watching several videos this made go for it. Need a table like this for college homework, specially now due the coronavirus outbreak but don't want it to permanently take space in my room so this is a must for me. Keep the good work 👌
I couldn’t locate the blog post with the full guide. Would be nice to see an initial drawing stage of all the parts to see how it goes together visually at the beginning.
Coooool.... I live in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia and we dont have sophisticated material.... Your is simple and really cool! ... Thank you! I might ask for your advice, I just bought a tiny apartment and your advice will be highly appreciated! If you dont mind! 🙂
How sturdy and stable is this? Thinking of building this for my fiance to work from home but hesitant as I know she wont use it if it shakes or wobbles. Thanks!
Very nice will be working g on one tomorrow. Question the 1x4x3 adding the 1x2 on each side should the cut for pine shelving be 39 in? So that it fits? Other than that awesome 👌🏽. Thank you.
I built one with my dad not even good wood and some thin triangles and it held up very well of constant heavy use for 2 years and going so if you're worried like my dad was don't be (im a messy person so every surface i fill with stuff )
Every time I click the link to get the steps not he coral blog, I get some hijacked link wanting me to update flash or something similar every time I click, and its something different each time.
Does the link posted send anyone to a Honda website? I'd live to see an affiliated blog post to be able to slowly read as I'm doing the project. Not sure if it's only me that it's not working for. Thanks!

Thank you for this. I used this as a guide and built a craft table in our guest bedroom for my wife. She loves it and I'm really proud of it.

I am also building one today for virtual classes!
I've watched all other channels on how to make one of these... This is hands down the best one. Thanks ma dude.
Solutions are often very simple but ...they do need to appear in mind...and that needs imagination...
Great work... Ma'am

Excellent, thanks! Going to use this to make a pull out seat/groceries table for the space between the fridge and the wall.
So cute and practical! Wish me luck!
I'm crying at how good this is
Thank you! Yours was the most simple tutorial on the Web!
Thanks for this! I really needed one that doesnt need pocket holes and other fancy things that need tools!
I found it really challenging to do the triangles. Unfortunately your blog post with this project is no longer on your website.
I have a large draft table that I plan on changing to this design. Thanks for the creative build.
Love it! I'm going to make a smaller version for my kitchen and use as extra counter space. Living in a studio apartment, I have very little space to set things down, while cooking.
This is going to solve my kids drama, I love your video the way you explain everything you kept this simple and easy thank you
So glad you enjoyed, Eva! And that we could help solve some drama ;)

Just awesome!! I seriously need this in every room!
This is perfect. I want to add a table like this to the camper van to save on space. Project for the next few weeks I reckon!
Same, I want to put them on my doors 🙂
@@LisaSoulLevelHealing I did end up making a small fold down table for the campervan, and it works a treat 😁
Good idea and execution. The only thing it needs is some kind of lockout mechanism for the L brackets, so it won't collapse if someone bumps into it.
Oh! That's an amazing suggestion. Where were you when we were building the plans!
@@thecoralchannel probably doing something silly :). Keep up with the cool projects.
What about adding to magnets one of the support and one on the bottom side. Should be enough for a bump.
@@MikeTheMaker1 I don't know anything, but I like that idea. Especially if you use reasonably strong magnets.

I also worried about the brackets.. imagine if someone unintentionally hit the brackets the your precious laptop will suffer.. 😨
I was thinking about notching out the support where the hinges would hit in order to avoid adding these spacers. Think that would work?
I did it! Took me three days and two trips to the hardware store, but I did it!
Amazing Joyce! Share us a picture of your project on facebook or instagram @CoralTV - We would love to see it!
CONGRATS! Hope you love it as much as we do!
Did you follow her measurements?
Corinthian Dixon, no. I made mine based off of a piece of scrap I already had.

Thanks!!! I was about to buy the expensive foldable brackets but your idea looks like the winner!
I was finding like this space saver dining 🍽 table... Wow 👌 👏 😍 👍
Made this for my guest room. Directions were great, only thing changed was using a piano hinge.
Thank you. I just started this project and should finish tomorrow. It looks simple, sturdy and purdy 😉👍🏽😄
After searching...
This is the best design I saw today for a table attached to the wall, because of that I give you a subbed 😊
if you add a1x2 on each end of the 36in. board you will have 39in. to come up with 36in. overall you will have to cut 3in. off of the board that screws to the wall.
This is really good for small spaces! Thanks!
I dnt know where we can find such cute carpenters...doing jobs with those delicate hands..🥰
