So happy! I knew absolutely NOTHING about how to play a saxophone because I'm a brass player. Thanks for the tutorial :) I made my first sound! I was so amazed, thank you!
Thanks mate, I couldn't get a bloody sound out of it, but listening and watching you explain in a simple and understandable way has helped me get a sound. Right, now I'll try it with the neck attached to the saxophone, cheers.
Hi Keyo...Glad to see your getting to grips with sound production. Make sure you get to see a teacher as there is so much you can learn and fine tune face to face. Keep blowing...G
thesaxteacher pinipples look like you
still cant do it, thanks though you are the first to say the TAA bit! :)
the “ta--“ tip is incredible, i just picked up this instrument and couldn’t figure out how to produce a proper sound, until i tried what you said!!
Got it my second try yay no more airy noise
thank you!!!!! did my first sound with your help. love and greetings from Singapore

Excellent tutorial worked just like you said thank you and i

doesn't matter how i put my lips or how hard/soft i blow. it's just making an airy sound. occasionally it sounds like my sax is going through puberty but it isn't a smooth sound. help?
pinaples
Lana K
pineapples
Razac same here
Razac is your reed dry? Do you have a reed which is too hard?
i agree
i finally did it thanks to you
You make it look easy
Thanks! I've just made my first sound! It's great :D
Thank goodness for this video!! I got my sax the other day - and I dont get any decent out of it hehe.
Thank you for this.
thanks! it worked! at first it didn't but then somehow it just did. lol. and now the descent into madness begins for me.
I can't get it right. All it does is the airy sound. Help?
Same
Ear plugs. And blow. Stand in the closet away from.the dog. It'll take more directed air than you think. Less once you've done it more.
What is the TA sound ???
I got the sound a minute after playing it for the first time. I understand how to make the sound, but my struggle is how to position my top teeth. Is it just biting down? because i actually kinda bit down a bit hard that it scratched the top of it. Am i suppose to do that or do i just place it down?? I'm a bit confused.
I can't even get a sound from mine. Looks like there's a slightly used sax for sale.
Me to
nice
Should the reed be up or down??? Seeing different things. It’s been 24hrs and I can’t get this thing to make a good sound!
the greatest success that i've had was by following the Takiras Music Method (i found it on google) definately the most useful idea that I have ever tried.
How do you do the "ta" thing. Just flip ur tongue?
no ideaa, helppp
so its like playing a flute?
liam danvers no
Dont forget to be realistic - you'll have to do some work whichever plan you follow for learning sax I have spent months studying how to play saxophone and found a great website at Takiras Music Method (google it if you're interested)
I can't get a sound out of mine. Can anyone help?
at the 3/4 position you might need to squeeze the reed and mouthpiece a tiny bit go from the edge till you find the flexible part of the reed you may need to wet the reed with the tongue and make sure tongue is at the bottom of the mouth as the air flow will be affected just go for air first then the tongue part start it moving then get the tongue to stop the reed by closing it or pushing it up to the mouth piece
i cannt even play a note plz help
Thats strange? Have you got everything right with the set-up?
do a overbite and blow hot air like a clarinet thats a start
He sounds like someone from harry potter
omg i give up, this is impossible
Did you get it yet? Its been a month.
So don't you haVE TO TUNE THE MOUTHPIECE ??? Like to a piano or whoever your playing with???
