Well... that's not the bad part. The part that is stupid is Reckful giving his social security number through e-mail and to a complete stranger. Reckful should've met up with him with his laywer and discussed some terms through a formal and written contract.
Hood his identity can be stolen. basically he will get A LOT of money stolen from him. along with A LOT of other complications that he will have to deal with for the rest of his life....

Something like that happened to me although the loss was pretty minimal compared to Reckfuls
It was some random MMO and basically people were shouting they can upgrade my weapon using cash shop items but I would have to trade them my weapon (prett obvious) but I for some reason wanted to trust him like I put my faith in humanity like that on some obvious scammer. I decided for myself that if I will get scammed here then I would change and stop being too trusting.
(note: this was a game I spent alot of time on and I was a kid back then)
After the trade went through he ran around pretending to do something and then logged off for good. I didn't even cry, I just felt ....sad.
After that I always check people for ulterior motives in game and IRL I became a very cautious person. I made sure never to reveal my true personalities to people who I can't trust.
Giveing away your social security number to someone else that is not a government employee that is formaly asking it for something, is pretty fucking stupid.
