I play the smith morra gambit against the sicilian and black doesnt know what to do most of the time and end up in a sucky position. Atleast in my elo range (1500 - 1600)
@@ClariseFamily I mean yeah. We 1600s do suck and we know it 😅. But most folks are below this elo anyway. Also smith morra gambit is a legit and sound opening against Sicilian. Sound because u don't have a easy refutation of that gambit. And it is practical too.i know little theory and I am just winning a lot of matches when opponents play Sicilian anyway. But when u know all theory of that opening ( smith morra gambit is surprisingly more theoretical), u will dominate even master level players. Like Marc esserman plays this opening and he beats IMs, GMs, etc not just in blitz, bullet and rapid but also classical. I am not saying sicilian is a bad opening. Just that white players have some aggressive weapons against it.
Very great instructional video! 19:15 how about attacking the queen with C4 supported by the bishop? Or will the double pawn move by white make it okay to move twice with queen as black?
Learn tactics (Lichess), play 15|10, think about every move (don’t Blunder), play London and Caro Kann This helped me when I was 500. 1 year later and I am 1940 Fide
I am around 1000 and I‘ve hardly ever won with the Sicilian Defense.. I disagree, I think it’s not very beginner friendly, especially not against stronger players. There are just so many lines to consider and I can’t remember them. What am I doing wrong?

Charming, enjoyable, simple and great fun 😊
Hey we need a lesson about ponziani open, coz i heard someone says it's one among the italian sideline that are so tricky.
@Aed126 Halo. For clarity's sake; @ & 7:54 d5. Not an advantage, but is this an opportunity foe "en passant"? Just trying to learn. Thnx
@@R.Akerman-oz1tf Yes, en passant could have been played there, by Alessia's opponent.
@@mariiris1403 Thnx! That dispels My confusion.
0:32 "In every opening it's very important to control the centre."
*cries in Grob*
The Grob controls the center with Bg2!

Excellent lesson as always. The main question I'd bet from most of us, how does one remember all these scenarios up to 7:18?
Thank you for this video.

Yes stop it. Find an internship, start investing, go to gym. Chess is very addictive it can ruin your 20s.
@@Harsh-se1gx this comment gave me some "videogames are for kids get some work done and be a man" vibes
@@Harsh-se1gx yep fr
I think you have better things to do at 20 than to invest time in chess, If you want to just let it as a side hobby do it, or just stop playing
23:28 is for the gods :P
My go to opening for black (if my opponent plays the Italian) is the Rousseau gambit, it's free ELO.
OneTurco: Haha I got your queen. Just resign.
Alessia: brilliant move to win a queen
OneTurco:Breaks everything in his house

I wonder ...how far is Sicily from Allessia's Home-Town? Many hundreds is a guess.
Amazing 😍
Emphasis works Ok with "accessory"! Please say as U please; We all understand.
Love your videos, you do a great job of explaining your moves to make them understandable
Very mellifluous infotainment. 🎼🎶💛😂💛🎶🎼
Thank you Sweetie I have just won a game with Sicilian opening just now
Next; InAC' curracy. I really miss this channel. I hope U & S/O are doing well. Great fun 4 All.
You still need a black opening for D4
Ale ma secondo te non è troppo rischiosa come apertura a basso livello?
No one plays the achevingen cause of g4 its unpleasant
What about the Pirc Defense
Sicilian rarely ends mussel ,,
But so much theory… 😢
Alessia Thank You !!!!
good one , master
You were like my tutor
ok so... now im in love
I just started with the English opening for white, quite similar I guess.
Yes! If black plays 1...e5
Necessary, accent on 1st syllable. English has so many more exceptions than Italian 😊
Thank you!!

Nope, the Rousseau Gambit is the best imo
❤
The only opening you say. But what if white opens with d4?
didn't cover the Mengarini gambit (best variation against the Sicilian) 😂
Great video Alessia, but sicilian is not for beginners. It's a very trick opening and black can get trapped or can have inactive pieces.
I always play the O'Kelly Sicilian, I'll beat anyone
Beat magnus carlsen😂
@@shibambhattacharjee5268 you mean magnisium calsium
That’s like the worst variation I think there’s actually a forced loss in it.
