This is the real pure sound of the SOUL belting technique. What we hear from most Soul artists in the country are watered down SOUL POP. Soul Pop is a cleaner, a more toned-down, and a more POP approach to Soul singing like those of Whitney Houston, Wendy Moten, and Anita Baker. The purest and the most organic sound of Soul singing was the sound of Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, James Brown, and Al Green during the 60’s. Pure Soul is a lot more RAW, WILD, & EXPLOSIVE than the watered down SOUL POP we hear from Whitney at Anita. 60’s Soul is as wild and as raw as the sound of Classic Rock in the 60’s but mixed with Gospel music. These people I’ve mentioned are also known as the pioneers of Soul music in the 60’s.
Soul was in its purest and most complex form during their time, for it was still a newly established genre in the 60’s that came from a mixture of Gospel, Blues, and Jazz music (similar to the roots of Classic Rock that’s why these two genres sound similar in vocal technicalities). Back then, you should be able to really know the formal structures of these three complex genres to be officially called a Soul singer. But now that Soul has been condensed and simplified into the technical Soul pop that we now hear from our local mainstream Soul artists, having a powerful DARK tone and having general knowledge on singing techniques are the only 2 things you need to be called a Soul singer. PURE SOUL SINGING requires deep understanding & theoretical knowledge on the formal structures of Jazz, Blues, and Gospel. It also requires mastery of the specific techniques used in Soul music which is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from Classical & Pop. And most importantly, you need to have natural depth and fullness in your chest voice to be able to sing the genre. The SOUL BELTING TECHNIQUE does not really work on light sopranos who only depress their larynx because it requires a chesty mix in a HIGH PLACEMENT, so manufactured depth would not work with the needed placement and vowels as the depth would rely fully on the natural weight of your chest voice and on the strength of your support muscles while combating the brightness of the nasal resonance (due to high vocal placement). This is also why most Soul singers are either Contraltos, Mezzo-Sopranos, or Sopranos with dramatic tones. The techniques don’t work that well on naturally light chest voices.
The truth is, there are only VERY VERY FEW PURE SOUL singers in the local music industry. I doubt if they are even more than 5 in total, and Sarah, the POPSTAR ROYALTY, is surprisingly one of them.
Sarah is fully equipped with the complex techniques, knowledge & training in Jazz, and the natural depth in her chest voice. Her variation of this belting technique has improved more & more through the years as it has become more natural in her voice now as seen in her UNIFIED concert. You would notice a flatter tongue now when she’s using the technique despite the need of the vowels to be froggy & nasal. The power in her current variation also relies on her strong support muscles and on the innate thickness of her real chest voice when she’s not manufacturing her sound.
Her SOULFUL belts in terms of technique and quality are a perfect mixture of:
    1. Beyonce’s
    2. Joss Stone’s
    3. Radha's
    4. Aretha Franklin’s
    5. Whitney Houston’s
There is a certain groundedness and also a certain gigil that would remind us of these 4 artists. Her placement for this belt is also very safe as explained by vocal coach Yazik, for she doesn’t let the modified vowels block her voice in her throat and she also places her mix well. Her variation is sustainable through the years and safe enough for growling as well.
An example of light Soprano doing the Soul accent is Charice. In lower notes and lower mids, she can easily manufacture her sound by modifying her larynx, her placement, and her vowels. But as she ascends in her range, she can no longer combine nasality with groundedness & depth because when she create the depth, she places her voice so low, away from her nasal cavity as she depresses her larynx. This is the reason why the distinct Soul quality can never be present in a light Sopranos' belts even if they modify their vowels.
The only real PURE Soul artists in the past generation are Radha & Bituin. They present the sound of Organic and Pure Soul completely. Jaya is also soulful and very Knowledgeable too, but her sound has more Jazz and Contemporary elements than just pure Soul like Anita Baker’s. KZ is also more Jazz and Pop than Soul.
In this present generation, Sarah is honestly the best soul singer in the country in my opinion, for she is the most complete and equipped in terms of techniques, qualities and knowledge. Klarisse comes second. Her techniques, style, and natural tone are perfect for Soul. It just lacks the jazz theoritical knowledge and the improvement in accent & diction. Aicelle has a potential too. Her tone is very Soul. Her techniques are just very pop & a bit too technical. But with enough training, I think Aicelle would be an amazing Pure Soul singer too.
This is actually just 1 of Sarah’s 9 belting techniques. If you want to learn more about Sarah’s 9 belting techniques and her natural voice, click this link:

It's because many netizens only follow the "youtube standards" of great singing without knowing it's not really a formal standard, and not always applicable to all genres in the wide field of music.

Sadly, Sarah and Beyonce are alike in this category. They're both super underrated in terms of vocals when in reality, they're two of only few knowledgeable vocalists and uses proper healthy techniques. They're not just performers.
