How to Smoke Beef Tri-tip for Beginners

    This video shows how to sear and smoke a prime-grade beef Tri-tip roast. This is one of my favorite cuts of meat to smoke because it’s a quick cook and tastes amazing. If you are new to smoking meats, I highly recommend smoking tri-tip to gain confidence and experience. Always exercise caution and safety when handling raw meat as well as using your grill.

    Process:
    1. Pat dry with paper towels
    2. Trim excess fat
    3. Duck Fat spray binder
    4. Apply rub of your choice
    5. Sear all sides
    6. Place on cooling rack
    7. Insert meat probe
    8. Smoke at 225 degrees
    9. Spritz after first hour
    10. Remove at IT of 135 degrees
    11. Wrap in foil/rest 15 minutes
    12. Slice on the double bias
    13. Enjoy!
