Henglong actually got the name of this tank wrong, the tank they made is actually a ztz96A not ztz99A. This is distinguishable as the ztz99A has a raised engine deck to allow the instalation of a more powerful 1500hp engine. They should make an actual ztz99A!
It must be it's the same battery we have in all our older heng long tanks but a bit better board than what we have in those. I guess the newer tanks have the 6 board and a much more compact battery. We haven't gotten one of those yet but it is on our wish list.
Yeah they have the same sound chip for the 1500 hp turbine engine from that tank in all the models. I'm glad they are least let you switch it to a diesel sound. I'm not sure how accurate it is for this model since I haven't heard one run though. Thanks for watching.
We would definitely be interested in doing that but our tanks so far are just airsoft or non airsoft with recoil. We will make a point of doing that when we get a couple with that feature. We will be posting another tank later this week but it's airsoft only.
@@Meanwhileinthemancave All latest tk6.0 version and up HL tanks will come with the IR receiver. I don't have another one to test the functions out yet, but the instructions say that the emitter is already built in and fires at the same time you shoot a BB bullet. I did notice a small lens on my tk6.0 version T-90 tank beside the turret so I'm guessing that's where the IR emitter is.
there's a maget on top of the turret somewhere for you to magnet that IR receiver, It doesn't work well during noon or when the sun light is the strongest, too much interference of IR from the sun, and I heard if you are turning your turret it won't receive IR shots from other tank, so your retaliation is not interfere, or should I say the feature allows you to have a chance to fight back
@@Meanwhileinthemancave have you tried locate if there's magnet anywhere? since this is a 6.0s or 6.1 whatever , this IR mushroom is the part of the system, there's magnet underneath that mushroom IR receiver, Or you can glue or epoxy a strong magnet underneath the center of your turret if there isn't any magnet in this ZTZ, as for the IR you can actually build one yourself, buy or find an IR LED , positive negative to the 6.0 board inside , see your manual where is the plug for IR LED plug it in and put your IR LED to the gun mantlet, drill a hole or ask for IR battle veteran for advice you are good to go to a IR battle
We used E6000 on the parts we didn't want coming off again but don't use it on anything that you may need to get off again later. Wheel hubs are always something you need to leave yourself access to.
@@r32_101 I haven't picked up a tank in a while so I'm not sure what they are going for now. With all the Covid stuff prices seem to be a little higher on most things. It also depends on the options that the particular model your picking up has.

I think this is type 99(or ZTZ-99, 2001) not Type 99A(ZTZ-99A, 2007) Firstly, as the female voice at 4:20 said( I don't know what other tank you're talking about, but if that's another Chinese tank...), that is one of the most easily identifiable feature, the ERA block arranging differently on Type 99 and Type 99A, the blocky one would be the Type 99A, also, the type 99A turret don't have that dom shape on top. secondly, the back of the hull on type 99A is a 90 degree angle, much like the turret, the Type 99A design overall are much sharper then Type 96 or 9910(Type 98). Finally, the road wheel on type 99A are much closer to each other than that of type 99. Of course, there are various other difference between those two tanks....
Heng Long markets this particular tank as a 99A and the other without the composite armor as the 99 it doesn't surprise me that it lacks in authenticity but for the price they look pretty nice and with some know how a good modeler could correct some of the details for a modest price and not so modest satisfaction. No matter how much you like the design the truth is these probably won’t be mass produced so they’re only going to be equipped by a few of their “elite” tank divisions xD If there’s ever a need to land troops on the ground your Abrams will be in sufficient numbers I think :) Don’t worry they won’t be in a position to truly challenge or win against us in the free world any time soon xD even if they were given all the latest toys overnight they would be like the gamer who bought the best equipment so he could have a shot at PvP but has little or no idea on how to fight
The main workhorse of their tank divisions is still the Type 96 and only the upgraded A and B variants are considered third generation MBTs, the base Type 96 is still considered a 2nd generation.

That “weird” whiny engine sound is actually for the M1A2 Abrams’ turbine engine or the Soviet T80 that I think is in the pipeline.

This one is a BB shooter so I don't know why they sent the IR unit with it I think they messed up at the factory! Bonus!

Heng long battery's are a joke they last about 15 minutes I always buy better battery's
For my ztz99A with 7.4v 1800ma, can run around 25min. Noted my one is the 5.3 version
Good luck putting extra lights on your tank with a 1800 I've got a 5300 and I put extras on my tanks and they last about 50 mins each
