I'm one of the weirdos who actually prefer post commentary. I know they take extra effort since it's at least double the recording time, but I like the extra clarity you get to explain your thought process
I like seeing other perspectives in the replay since the player view is too limiting. Seeing where the enemy setup or outplay occurred makes a huge difference. Putting a microscope to some niche tech that you came across on ladder helps everyone learn.
I don't mind post commentary here and there when you have particularly good games for it, but I do prefer the live commentary. Thanks for putting out the videos!
I would prefer whatever you like doing the most, I'm very happy to have you as my main and only consistent Deadlock content creator and both as others have said in the comments have merits but my priority is more on what you feel the most comfortable with. I'm especially always happy to see characters like Dynamo and others that some people would class as "supports" (even though they are trying to avoid the classic hard MOBA roles but still).
I normally slightly prefer live commentary, but this video in particular felt more like a live commentary some how? I think a post commentary with a good blend of reacting to the gameplay with your usual charm and explaining yourself with hindsight makes for a perfect video
Love the content. Might be nice to make post-commentary more of a build guide or like "this is what I was building / going for" style. Either way tho you're the man.
I do like the post more. It makes for a calmer video with more explanation. Also the talk about how these items work instead of them just working is a nice bonus.
hey mast, love all your vids, both live and post commentary. I personally prefer the live commentary a bit more because it's fun to go along and react with you when you don't know what's going to happen. that being said, i know how hard burnout can hit when you're live commenting every game, especially since you're really good at finding things to say consistently for a half hour or more. have fun with the game and make whatever feels right to you! it'll be entertaining regardless
I enjoy post commentary when you’re running more off meta/niche setups or characters, especially in duo lanes, cause it means I’m guaranteed to get a better understanding of what’s going on without you having to tennis ball between working with your laner and explaining the build
I think I prefer live commentary but I wouldn't mind post commentary (the Dynamo main in me isn't gonna say no to a Dynamo video too) I don't know how I didn't notice Dynamo gun tweaks, it has been feeling better lately
I'd be cool with a mix, maybe even average out to around 50/50, not necessarily in order. A couple post, couple live, balance it out. Especially if it's better for your enjoyment of the game, go for it!
Replay viewer pro tip: you can use J to toggle between using the pointer in the replay controls or using the camera controls. if you can see the pointer, then your camera won't be messed up and you can use it to click other player icons at the top of the screen to view their POV. Just be aware that ziplines and other fast movements will mess with the replay camera for a bit no matter what you do. Loving both kinds of videos btw. So long as you're having fun in the game it'll be a good one to watch
I think I prefer live commentary, but post commentary absolutely does have the advantage that the commenter is more invested in the game due to not having to spend half their brain speaking, so… I certainly don’t *mind* post commentary, do what works! Actually, listening to your commentary this time - I really like that you have the time and brain power to describe what you’re buying, why, and some of it’s effects that someone who’s never played the game/ is inexperienced can easily miss. That’s really cool added value for me!
a bit of both is always nice do what your comfortable with but in my opinion i find listening to a live commentary much more engaging and exiting due to your reactions and live thought process but of course i am just happy to see a vid :D
I agree with going more post commentary, for the reasons you said and also because it allows you to focus on the game without having to worry about being entertaining
My favorite part was when mast said “it’s impreg time” than impregnated everywhere. (Also for the commentary question, in my opinion I love live commentary so much more than post)
I like the live for the spur of the moment commentary, but I’m here for your vibes so whatever helps you produce content is great (: only personal complaint with replays is the colorblind mode lol Also completely understand just wanting to play the game, then worry about talking when you know it’s a good match
Post commentary is great, I wouldn't wanna see it replace live commentary entirely but it could easily be 50/50 and I'd love it. If it helps to make playing more fun and relaxed and we get more awesome videos then it's all gravy baby
I think post game commentary can only help you in the long term. One of the best ways to get better at anything is to record and review your performance. You are doing two birds with one stone. Plus, like you said it's two different gameplay styles. One is more the yapping/casual game where you know youre gonna roll and the other one is full sweat mode. Reviewing that second one will make you a better player and by proxy the viewers benefit because we like watching a good player play... The games gonna evolve and people on average get better.. Watching you stay ahead of the curve is fun.
Mast! Love the videos, I don't think I mind at all between pre- and post- commentary. What I would like though is if you could do post-commentary over the top of a live recording? The replay viewer is so scuffed and I hate watching games though it. Plus it's fun to be able to hear your teammates babyraging!
Personally, i would say i like the live commentary more. I think it just feels better to get the live reactions and to hear your thought process while the game happens. either way i love your content and honestly don't plan to stop watching it anytime soon
I would love to see an item for knock up resist or reduction. Going against a lash, bebop and holiday or dynamo is pretty common. Just bobbing in the air is painfully man
Honestly don't mind post commentary sometimes, but I do prefer the lives by a little bit at least. I think it is as Dalton says, the "feeling" in the live recorded is just a cut above. I enjoy the 'in the moment' commentary more than the post commentary. But at the end of the day, it's Mast - So I haven't been too bothered by it. Been watching for years. Probably quite literally every single Smite, Pred, and now Deadlock video.
I like both, but I prefer the post commentary because I feel like you are more synergetic with your team when you're focusing on the game, and you use comms more! Do whatever you like, I'm not going anywhere
I've never seen KB resist anywhere. It's actually a really good point with Mirage, Dynamo, Lash etc. but not sure what the item would look or play like.
I'm happy to watch both i don't think it makes a difference between live commentary and post commentary also the videos are brilliant no matter what. Hope people agree
I like the post commentary videos, they explain better your thought process. Btw can you update the mast paradox build please? There are new itens that are more value nowdays for carbine
I personally prefer live commentary, mainly to avoid things like "XYZ happens later this game". I prefer no spoilers for how the game happens, which of course can't happen with live commentary. I'd be happy to watch post-commentary without the spoilers though! Overall, if doing post-commentary makes the game more enjoyable for you, please do at the very least some post-commentary. Your enjoyment of the game is just as important!
Post commentary is A-okay. You bring the same energy to post commentary videos as you do to live commentary, you just know what's going to happen because it already happened for you earlier.
Which do YOU enjoy more? To consider, risk alienating part of your subscribers if the prefer live over but don't comment accordingly. I would dig into the youtube metrics to see how everyone seems to prefer. I don't stream myself, but if you have a mentor/ally with this, it'd be worth getting a "professional" 2nd opinion. You have something very special with how you do this as a stream, and as a neurodivergent, I vastly prefer your streams to others.
When you mentioned yesterday how hard it is to record even though you have a lot of gameplay in my first thought was "why not post commentary?" Its better than nothing and thats a worst case scenario. I suspect many of us (myself included) don't mind.
I like a bit of both, the post commentary allows for more of how you were thinking. But the during has more feeling
dont mind it either but i dont really like the replay recording, maybe he can record in game and post commentary later
@@IrishSpringGreen-x6x yeah, I don't like being able to see the whole enemy team, but it's very minor. As long as I can Mast up I'm content.
I prefer live because post commentaries have a deficet of the "bing!"s and the "punch!"es that I love so much
I don't mind post commentary here and there when you have particularly good games for it, but I do prefer the live commentary. Thanks for putting out the videos!
I would prefer whatever you like doing the most, I'm very happy to have you as my main and only consistent Deadlock content creator and both as others have said in the comments have merits but my priority is more on what you feel the most comfortable with. I don't mind live or post. Your laid-back vibes are what I come here for.
the first vid forever changed the way i play dynamo, absolute banger of a build
Now this is a nice change of pace, though I don't quite prefer post-commentary - It feels... less authentic.
31:58 that mo ragdoll though, puts NASA to shame
Came here to comment something about that too. I love when stuff like that happens.
I normally slightly prefer live commentary, but this video in particular felt more like a live commentary some how? I think a post commentary with a good blend of reacting to the gameplay with your usual charm and explaining yourself with hindsight makes for a perfect video
Hahah, the sass Dynamo gives to Bebop when hooked while ulting. "Oh, please!"
I like whatever form of commentary. The random mix of both feels nice and refreshing.
the dynapress position
Love the content. Might be nice to make post-commentary more of a build guide or like "this is what I was building / going for" style. Either way tho you're the man.
I do like the post more. It makes for a calmer video with more explanation. Also the talk about how these items work instead of them just working is a nice bonus.
I LOVE the post commentary just as much as the live.
Holliday can press lasso and before it hits the enemy u can heavy melee
Love your Deadlock content! The more the better!
hey mast, love all your vids, both live and post commentary. I personally love the Post commentary because the team colors are diffrent and it's cool as hell
the Vindicta comment at 31:30 got me rolling. its how i view her as well. i prefer getting in immediately
Alternative name idea for a knock up resist item: contraception
I think generally post is better with the option of saying "i'm going to use live commentary here"
I like the reflective aspect of the post commentary
I think I prefer live commentary but I wouldn't mind post commentary (the Dynamo main in me isn't gonna say no to a Dynamo video too)
I don't know how I didn't notice Dynamo gun tweaks, it has been feeling better lately
I'd be cool with a mix, maybe even average out to around 50/50, not necessarily in order. A couple post, couple live, balance it out. Especially if it's better for your enjoyment of the game, go for it!

I like both, so whatever you enjoy most.
a bit of both is always nice do what your comfortable with but in my opinion i find listening to a live commentary much more engaging and exiting due to your reactions and live thought process
but of course i am just happy to see a vid :D
I really like the post commentary style!
I remember your refresher Mcginus build for turrets that was fun.
I do like the in the moment reactions lol
I agree with going more post commentary, for the reasons you said and also because it allows you to focus on the game without having to worry about being entertaining
Caught the video posted "10 seconds ago". True mast squad reporting in 😤
My favorite part was when mast said “it’s impreg time” than impregnated everywhere. (Also for the commentary question, in my opinion I love live commentary so much more than post)
I'm cool with the post commentary; love watching your vids regardless of the format so if it helps you enjoy the game more, I say go for it!
I like the live for the spur of the moment commentary, but I’m here for your vibes so whatever helps you produce content is great (: only personal complaint with replays is the colorblind mode lol
Also completely understand just wanting to play the game, then worry about talking when you know it’s a good match
Mix of both is fine. Thing I like about live commentary is getting to know why you are making the certain item choices.
man I really like your content if post commentary or not dont care as long as you continue to post :) enjoy the game
I like the replay reviews, but I like all the content :)
Ankle weights that provide resistance to all forced movement sounds cool.
Post commentary is great, I wouldn't wanna see it replace live commentary entirely but it could easily be 50/50 and I'd love it. If it helps to make playing more fun and relaxed and we get more awesome videos then it's all gravy baby

Honestly I like the post commentary better, during has higher highs but I think post commentary is more consistently good.Keep em coming.
Mast! Love the videos, I don't think I mind at all between pre- and post- commentary. What I would like though is if you could do post-commentary over the top of a live recording? insane ragdoll at 20:57
spacex been real quiet since this dropped
I like the post commentary.
I think you should lean into the replay commentary. Like a John Madden play by play.
I would love to see an item for knock up resist or reduction. Going against a lash, bebop and holiday or dynamo is pretty common. Just bobbing in the air is painfully man
Is there any possibility to see the original team colours in replay, I cannot follow what's happening in which team
22:24 Kills Lash, Dabs on his grave
Live commentary does feel more authentic ngl
I prefer the live commentary most of the time but if you have a truly amazing game to show I would still watch it
Honestly don't mind post commentary sometimes, but I do prefer the lives by a little bit at least. I think it is as Dalton says, the "feeling" in the live recorded is just a cut above. I enjoy the 'in the moment' commentary more than the post commentary. But at the end of the day, it's Mast - So I haven't been too bothered by it. Been watching for years. Honestly whatever allows you to put out more videos. More content from you the better man
Warp stone is the counter to knockups.
I like both, but I prefer the post commentary because I feel like you are more synergetic with your team when you're focusing on the game, and you use comms more! Do whatever you like, I'm not going anywhere
I think post commentary is more informative while Live Comm is more entertaining
I prefer live commentary, but I'm fine with post commentary as long as it means more Mast videos!
New mast video time!!!
We are so back
3:20 they changed that key bind name to "alternate cast" instead of self cast.
Live commentary hits so good, but post is cool too. Id like both but leaning more towards live
You mast be kidding me with this title
I think a mix of live and post commentary is a good mix as long as its on the thumbnail/title.
I've never seen KB resist anywhere. It's actually a really good point with Mirage, Dynamo, Lash etc. but not sure what the item would look or play like.
I like both styles of video TBH. If one is way more easy to produce, no problemo.
this was post commentary? most of the video it just felt like live comms that's amazing
Hey Mast, love your videos, you should play Viscous again!
Brother, you could be mixing macaroni in post-commentary and I'd still enjoy it. Do what makes you happiest.
I'm happy to watch both i don't think it makes a difference between live commentary and post commentary also the videos are brilliant no matter what. Hope people agree
I will miss the occasional, "Pleeease!!" from the live-coms but if you enjoy the post-coms I'll make my peace with it.
I prefer live commentary but dont mind the post commentary, I'll watch no matter what
i don’t think i actually care if the commentary is in person or post, i just want my lockies
I like the post commentary videos, they explain better your thought process.
Btw can you update the mast paradox build please? There are new itens that are more value nowdays for carbine
15:43 Twice as much health as you need
i like live commentary man,i want too see the real time decision making
I think you should do what makes you happy, i don't mind either way!
LETSGOO
As long as I get more mast I'm happy
I don't mind an occasional post commentary
Dynamo is the lead cause of mpreg in New York
What if Metal Skin had resist to knock up effects?
Love the live commentary, but I still enjoy the post commentary! ❤
Electric Boogaloo LMAO
For me, I prefer in game commentary, but don't mind a post game now and again.
As long as I’m getting mast content I don’t care if it’s post comn, pre comn, during comn. Just give me the cheese
Both works great for me!
Aye it's Late Night Mast Gang Unite time ~
The one thing I dont like about post commentary is the coloring. It just feels wrong. But behind that I think both are fun
Post commentary is A-okay. You bring the same energy to post commentary videos as you do to live commentary, you just know what's going to happen because it already happened for you earlier.
Both are great! Do whatever it takes to not burn out. That way you can stay happy and I can get content😂
19:25 - Mast is pro BBW Vindicta?
the unc shoe build is back baby 👞👞👞
Both live and post commentaries are enjoyable but i would prefer live if possible
