I saw these guys at the Stone Pony, Asbury Park NJ in 1991. Great high energy show. Yes, the chorus does reminded us of Teen Spirit. Some undertones of That Petrol Emotion's 1990's Chemcrazy album. Lots of great tunes from the 1989 - 1993 period....
Awesome I saw these guys live at the Bottom Line (a classic club in NYC that doesn't exist anymore). A great rock band without an ego that just rock the shit out of the house. I would love to fly to Ireland and see them do a revival show. And I'd like to take a hot latin lady to see it. Yeah, I'm 40 and old but this rock memory makes me feel good and young.

ah I've only seen her about 4 or 5 times in that time. She's from Douglas (Cork) but must have moved to Bishopstown (my home place) many years ago. last time I saw her she was working in the Tesco store in Ballincollig a couple of miles west of Bishopstown (all Cork)
Great song but never liked the proper name - Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello (petrol). First trip to tipp comes to mind. And then I immediately think of The Stunning "Brewing up a storm". Anyone who was camping at the first trip to tipp knows why. What a weekend. Drove from Cavan to Tipp to land at the campsite late at night and realise we had forgotten our tents. 6 of us slept in a toyota corolla all weekend. Sore necks on Monday. We were awoken at sunrise the next morning by chanting. It was then we realised we had parked right beside a marquee load of hare krishna's. They fed us vegetarian curry all weekend and on the Sunday afternoon, while they were chanting my brother bust in between them all saying "Ah jaysus, do yis not know any other songs? Here. We'll teach ya an easy one." Meself and himself jumped into the middle of them and started dancing round singing "Ole, Ole" and they all joined in. We made the headlines in the newpaper when the media were summing up how the weekend went "Ole, Ole chanting soccer fans dancing with the Hare Krishna's!" Such a fabulous crowd of people. Such a crackin' weekend. Never to be forgotten.
I saw a few on that tour. Sadly I couldn't make it over for any dates on the Something Happens American Fun Tour next year, but made up for it by seeing most on the Where's Ray? Tour, after they'd run out of funny acronyms. Happy days.
Was it 'Hello' or 'Parachute' that was kept off Number One in Ireland by Miley Byrne from Glenroe's song 'Byroad from Glenroe'? Strange times. Tom Dunne (the singer)is now a presenter on Newstalk radio in Ireland Monday-Friday 9-12 mornings. Good Show too.
Ah...those were the days......when you bounced along to Alan playing 'Skippy', and waited for Tom to slag off Ray, lol. I miss The Underground and The Baggot Inn. *sigh*
This song and the album (Stuck Together With God's Glue) is some of the best rock and roll ever. Even their next two albums (Bedlam A Go-Go/Alan, Elvis and Me) are terrific. Another sad example of poor marketing, at least in the USA. These guys should be HUGE. Tom Dunne is a stupendous vocalist.
I used to get to hang around with these guys back in the day as my friend went out with Ray for a while - he gave her that poncho and I had her on my shoulders at Feile 90 waving it around overhead. I'm also friendly with one of the guys from That Petrol Emotion, so I can hear where the song came from as well as where it ended up (in Seattle). Foo Fighters could and should rock the sh!t out of this - it would almost be like saying thanks.

i enjoy hearing the bass guitar. like this.with it's own voice .not as some rumbling background afterthought.
The Bass here is Bass-y but there's enough Treble on it for the Notes he's playing to be deciphered.
