We are building a "2 story" one bedroom custom cabin at one of our properties named 'D40'. This is where we have our annual deer camp and also get together to hunt other various game and fish with family and friends on the 'main farm'. After many years experiencing tent failures due to high winds and bad weather the next step was to build our own cabin. THIS IS NOT A HOW TO VIDEO! We are taking this whole build one step at a time learning how to do things and MAKING MISTAKES as we go. We are totally open to suggestions and critiquing of our work. We have yet to finalize any plans for the inside and hope to get it "closed in" by deer season and the outside completed before the weather gets bad.
We're back at D40 working on the cabin once again in this episode and thankfully its still standing after a couple massive storms blew through the area. AJ and Andy start the day by framing out the second floor joists until a rain storm blows through interrupting them for a bit. After getting things dry again they are able to finish up later in the afternoon.
Nearly a couple weeks pass until they are all back, but this time with friends and family to help assist them putting down the Advantech flooring and erecting the heavy second floor walls. Our good friend Ryan Newberry is up and assists with some filming on the day. He is to thank for the cool drone shots and slow motion photography you see in this video. AJ and Andy then come back around a week later at the end of July to finish up the last two walls and brace everything until they move on to the next step.
