    At least you included the #1 American band, Grand Funk (Railroad)! ANY of the "American band" videos going around that don't include this band are bogus!

    One of my favorite nights working at the record store - Monday/Tuesday we were open until midnight in order to sell Use Your Illusion 1 & 2 - we couldn’t believe how busy we were that night, so much fun.

      Hey VP! Love your channel name! It’s our sacred mission and our duty to go out on Vinyl Patrol! LoL!
      I came over and subbed to your channel and I can tell already that I’m gonna dig your content! Love your Amoeba bag!
      I can still remember when GnR released the Use Your Illusion LPs and all the hype around them releasing 2 albums same day! Me and my pals were all over those CDs at the time! Did you work at Tower Records? Or Amoeba? Man those were the days! We had so many great adventures back then! I’m surprised I survived all the “fun”! Thanks for tuning in Im gonna deep dive your vids! Peace ✌️👽

    Howdy and much love Cosmic One and The Perch! Hope your weekend is going well my friends! :)💗Super short Mindshield removal haha.. Crazy Horses is a great little track and pretty heavy stuff for the Osmond's haha.. I do love the Cars too they've got a heep of great songs! Nirvana unplugged is EPIC love every song on that album and seeing it on MTV was amazing! I love the cover of David Bowie's The man who sold the world on unplugged! The Byrds Turn turn turn is awesome too! I used to have a Motley Crew patch on an old leather jacket I had haha.. wasn't even a huge fan of the band just loved that patch haha.. Love The Doors too my sister has always had a crush on Jim Morrison haha.. Super cool list of American bands!
    Many thanks again for the stellar video Cosmic Vinyl! Really makes my week when I see a new video from my 2 favourite UA-camrs! Wishing you the best of weeks! I fondled that like button as always haha.. Peace and very much love! ✌️👨‍🚀🖖🍻🌿🚬🌬️💨🍄🌞🌺🕸️🕷️🦂🐛🐍🐗🔫🐟📀💗✨💫🛸

      B!!!!!!! Yeah this was a fun one to do! Again as just like the Top 20 psych video I had a difficult time narrowing it down to even 25 American bands! There were so many more I could have included! Pearl Jam, Pixies, Guess Who, CCR, the list goes on and on. I threw in that Osmonds record as kind of a wild card! I’m sure it will catch some people off guard and may initiate some interesting comments!
      I remember I had just got home from a roadtrip in 94 only to receive a phone call from my friends telling me Kurt Cobain had died so I turned on the TV to MTV and they were playing round the clock Nirvana stuff I remember watching their Unplugged show and being overcome with sadness and then when they performed Leadbelly’s Where Did You Sleep Last Night I started sobbing. 😔
      What a sad day but I’m happy to have the now immortalized Unplugged on vinyl!
      Dude I bet so many girls like your sister were crushing on Jim Morrison Hell I probably had a man crush on him myself LoL!
      Man the Doors were so awesome Such a unique vibe! The Crue have always been among my fave 80’s hairbands along with Ratt and many others!
      Glad you liked the video! Thanks as always B! King of Commenters! Peace ✌️👽

I love that Were did you sleep last night song too such an EPIC way to close out an album! I hope you get some enjoyable Osmond's comments haha.. Your so right about there being so many great American bands it must have been tough trying to narrow it down to 25! Your Psych video is killing it I noticed it's over 2k views! I'm super glad for you and The Perch you guys deserve so many more subs for all the hard work that goes into your awesome videos! Thanks again for the reply Cosmic Brian love you and The Perch 4 life! Peace and love! ✌️👨‍🚀🖖💗💗💗💗📀✨💫🛸

    Great stuff. I have that Osmonds record :) ...Not sure where you are with modern music these days but if you are into Fugazi, The Jesus Lizard, Fudge Tunnel, and maybe early Nirvana.....check out METZ. ITs a modernish band out of Canada. Their first 2 albums are killer. Cheap too at around 15 to 20 bucks. Start with the first one (with the kid that has his head down on his desk). I cant really categorize it other than to say if you like the other bands i mentioned you should like this. Its noise rock for sure but its got an edge to it. Seems like you might be up for the recommendation anyway. I found the first album in a thrift store of all places and took a chance on it. Glad i did. Another really good album is Cloud Nothings - Attack On Memory. Another good modern pick up if you can find it. Highly recommend Metz! Keep the videos coming!

      @cosmicvinyl2937  Місяць тому +1

      Man I am going to check out all of these bands you mentioned! I love it when people leave stuff for me to check out in the comments. If I would’ve had some Fugazi it would have been in this vid for sure! Already hunting down METZ It sounds familiar. I’ve really been getting into more modern stuff lately too. So there will be another video with new finds and recommendations in the near future! Thanks for the tips! Peace ✌️👽

    Cosmic!!! I think I might have to do this before there's no more bands left to do. Opening with an all time classic! You always raise my eyebrows Cosmic, but in the affirmative 👍 I wish Crazy Horse had've released a record called the Osmonds 😂 Gotta have Devo. So subversive & weird. What was Crosby thinking when the rest of the band looked so cool? Nice work putting the Lips in there. Early Lips is wild & awesome. Nice Stooges get too. Solid & as expected eclectic list brother 🍾🍾🤘🤘😎😎🎸🎸🦍🦍🧨🧨🥁🥁🔥🔥

    • @cosmicvinyl2937
      @cosmicvinyl2937  Місяць тому +1

      Hey Big Ben! I’m an eyebrow hair raising knucklehead! Proud to be one too! LoL!
      Dude Devo was a band that meant a lot to me in my teenage years as they got me thru a patch in Junior High School where I was being bullied ruthlessly by a certain group of MFers. I finally worked up the nerve to lay one of them out in front of our auditorium full of fellow students Hit him so hard in the mouth I busted his lips wide open due to his braces! No one ever messed with me after that! haha!
      Here’s another great story that surrounds the Flaming Lips So I became hooked on that band after watching this amazing documentary about them called the Fearless Freaks Great doc btw If you haven’t seen I recommend it! Anyway I started looking to see if they were on tour anywhere close to me and of course the Lips would never come to Iowa so I decided to drive 500 miles from Iowa to Oklahoma to see them play in Tulsa. Went alone made a 2 day trek It was like a religious experience I’ve never seen a band put on such an outstanding show on such a small budget They used everything at their disposal Laser pointers pointed at a disco ball, They walked out of a UFO that they built They had fans in costumes up onstage It was so great I love every version of that band! As alway my good friend I appreciate ya! Seeya next time! Peace ✌️👽

    • @benrankins4446
      @benrankins4446 Місяць тому

      @ Cosmic I’ve been into the Lips since the early 90’s & I think I’ve seen them close to 10 times. They’re amazing on record & live. I love how both continue to evolve. One of the wildest live intros I saw them do was when they had this huge screen with this hippy girl dancing around & then at some point she lied on her back, opened her legs & this huge white light came out from between her legs and then as the audience were try to get theirs heads around that, the band emerged from the white light that was coming from her vag!!! It was mind blowing & one of the best stage entrances I’ve ever seen 😂 PS I have the Fearless Freaks on DVD. You have to see their Christmas On Mars movie too. It’s so tripped out

    Great opener with the Seeds, man! Love that band! Funkadelic's not too shabby either! Standing on the Verge is great, but I'm partial to the classic Maggot Brain, the first song I ever heard from them, a real mind blower! The jet plane on the cover of the Beastie Boys, when turned sideways, resembles a joint being crushed. Never seen that Paul Revere & Raiders album, I see they finally ditched those silly suits! I had that Grand Funk American Band LP, is yours on gold vinyl? mine was, but I sold it off years ago. When I first heard the Osmonds' One Bad Apple, I thought it was the Jackson 5, how far they came with Crazy Horses! I've really only heard the title song, and not the whole album. I need to get a greatest hits of the Cars, don't have any of their albums anymore. We're All DEVO! The Spudboys were so cool, I saw them on a double bill with Pere Ubu just when their first album was released, awesome show! Love Nirvana, that scream on Where Did You Sleep Last Night just rattles my bones everytime I hear it. I didn't care for End of the Century when I first heard it, but now I think it's great, it was their attempt to become commercially acceptable. The Byrds definitely belong on this list, they were the American answer to the Beatles, whom they were friends with. Love that MC5 album, American Ruse is a great tune and quite appropriate for the times. Love it to Death is my fave Alice Cooper album, they're all great, but that one just kicks! Lots of great bands on your list Brian, some I would pick, some I wouldn't, but still a cool list! Kudos to the Perch for a fine editing job. Later Man....🥴😵😵‍💫

      Hey Michael! Hell yeah I love doing these Top 10 or 20 album vids as long as I don’t have to rank them LoL!
      Dude I almost chose Maggot Brain but it seems like everyone shows that one so I wanted to keep a variety for all to see.
      In the last band I was in before Covid we used to close our shows with the Beasties You Gotta Fight for Your Right to Party! Crowds always got into it The first time we ever rehearsed it we freaking nailed it and we were just goofing off! So it ended up in our set list.
      Man I’m surprised you don’t have any Cars anymore! You’re gonna have to re-up! They’re such a great band that brings back so many great memories!
      Yep my GFR LP is on dark urine colored wax Haha! I even still have the stickers that came with the record Not sure why I didn’t show em.
      Yeah I’ll probably do a similar video this weekend Maybe Top 20 Brit Rockers? Stay tuned my friend! Peace ✌️👽

    Some great picks Cosmic One, we agree on a lot of them,so I put my picks from our same bands. Going with 10 from me, not in any order. Ted Nugent (Free For All), Blue Oyster Cult (Secret Treaties),Grand Funk (Grand Funk ,red album),Kansas (Leftoverture), Blue Cheer (had to agree with you,Vincebus Eruptum),Alice Cooper (Billion Dollar Babies), Aerosmith (Toys In The Attic),Chicago ( Chicago II),Van Halen (Van Halen) and Cheap Trick (Heaven Tonight).

    Hey Brian, So far so good, The Seeds= My favorite garage psych band. Oh, there's that eyebrow raiser...😲 I wish I would have ordered a De-Vo Spudring collar back in the day. You can put it on upside down, and fill it full of potato chips and then settle in for a good movie. I saw the Red Hots in 1984 at this little club, $10 cover. I was super close up front. Anthony was flopping around on the floor wearing this loin cloth wrap around thing, showing everyone his little Chili Pepper. I really wish I could unsee that. 🌶 Great show tho!

      Hey Ron! I freaking love the Seeds too Brother! So good. Yeah I kinda threw in that Osmonds LP just to see if folks were paying attention but I also really like that record! I remember being blown away when I first heard the song Crazy Horses! Haha!
      I remember the Devo interview with some late night show where they demonstrated the upside down spud ring as a chip catcher! Was it Letterman? I can’t remember. Dude that would have been so great to see the Chilis back then as a young and wild band Looking at how they evolved into this amazing rock band with so many great songs and albums! I’ve been trying to lay hands on all their albums Having trouble finding an affordable copy of Stadium Arcadium tho so I’ll have to be happy with my double CD. They were a band that were unafraid to unveil their members! LoL! Remember sock band? Where they wore nothing but a tube sock over their units? Zany!
      Thanks a lot for tuning in Ron I think I’ve gotten up to speed on your videos I fell so far behind watching VC vids. Peace Brother! ✌️👽

    Hey man. Looks like everything is going well in the Cosmic Realm. People ask me all the time to name my favorite band or album, which is impossible in my world. I can identify 20 U.S. bands, but it would be impossible to rank in order. The Osmonds discovered LSD on Crazy Horse, like The Beatles and Rubber Soul. Mtv Unplugged episodes are legendary. I consider Guns N Roses the last great rock and roll band of their kind, too bad they don't have more material. You didn't throw in The Grateful Dead? To each his own, as you said. Peace ✌ ☮ 🕊

    • @cosmicvinyl2937
      @cosmicvinyl2937  Місяць тому +1

      Hey David! This was a pretty fun thread but just like the last top 20 psych video this became quite difficult to narrow down. I threw in a couple off the beaten path choices to keep folks guessing LoL! The Osmonds were def one of those thought provoking and would possibly spark some interesting comments! Are they really among my top 25 American bands? Probably not In fact I’m hoping people will think me to be quite insane! So I guess it was kind of a lark.
      Man I’m about to confess something that may cause you to take pause. I’m not really a fan of the Grateful Dead In fact when was the last time you’ve seen me show the Dead in a video? I have but it’s been about 3 years ago when Mazzy sent me Aoxomoxoa & Anthem of the Sun. I do like those records but I find them a bit boring maybe I’ll give them another shot and see if I can acquire a taste for the Dead. Ok that sounded weird! Haha! Thanks for watching Appreciate ya! Peace ✌️👽

      Hahahaha! I asked myself the same question abut Monty Hall! I would like to see that episode of Love American Style to see how they employed him. Yeah not a big Beach Boys fan so that was a no go. As I went through my poppier stuff and bubblegum rock I pulled Ohio Express and left the Monkees on the shelf. And I threw in the Osmonds as kind of a lark LOL! Don’t get me wrong I’m a Monkees fan going all the way back to being a little kid! They’re awesome and the show was highly entertaining! Peace ✌️👽

While I do like Talking Heads and Jefferson Airplane I went with the bands I listen to the most and it’s super hard to narrow down all my fave American Bands to a list of 25. I do however love Modest Mouse and actually have been actively looking for their albums when I’m out digging but unfortunately I can’t show what I don’t have Thanks for watching Peace ✌️👽
