Building on the legacy of their popular Lo-Fi Kilobyte delay, Caroline have given the Megabyte the most requested features such as tap tempo and more delay time while preserving all the characteristics that made the original so musical. With two old school delay chips, the Megabyte has double the delay time of 1200ms and you can control is all with the knob or tap it in using 3 subdivisions (1/4, 1/8, or dotted 1/8). The tweaked Havoc circuit takes the repeats to the max amount, bringing out unstoppable self-oscillation whether you’ve dialed in a clean or dirty delay. Speaking of the delay signal, the tasty 21dB input preamp is packed with an enormous amount of boost that can push the delay signal into saturation, while the modulation trimpot adds a slow sway that further separates the Lo-Fi delay tones from your unaffected dry signal. Other features include an internal switch for kill dry, another to limit the self-oscillation and a convenient trails or true bypass selection that is made by simply holding the bypass footswitch. Each Megabyte is lovingly created in Columbia, SC, USA.

Absolutely love that Koll guitar, Broseph
Scott allen Me too, it’s something I’m borrowing for a while! Love those Novak (Guyatone) pickups.
Dude I absolutely love these videos. Mainly for your demos. Your skill is off the charts
Always great to see you Andy. Always superb demos and delivery. Thank you....Yuma,AZ.
Guitar choice and demo are always The Best!!!
I love Caroline pedals! That havoc button is bombastic.
I’ve beaten the hell out of my kilobyte, especially because you can turn the time knob while holding the havoc switch with my big dumb foot to get those woozy feedback loops. And when you pump the havoc switch you get chopped up bits. This is the smartest pedal remake. Big brain move Caroline !
FANTASTIC food for my soul...THANK YOU Andy !
Andy- love your videos- interesting reviews of pedals, but that doesn’t matter as much as listening/watching your playing/compositions- sounds very original. Bob
2:55 that's a pretty special sound there
that awesome red reminds me of your destroyer can't take my eyes off
I really like what this company is doing, I want to tryout this and the Hawaiian Pizza so bad!
That sounds great, gave me some mastodon vibes
One of these days I'm gonna get another CGC pedal. Think I've been holding out on getting a Kilobyte because I knew the Megabyte was coming. Now that's it's here don't really have an excuse. Really love my Shigeharu, it's extremely versatile.
I’m really enjoying the subtle incorporation of rainbows into the last few petals I’ve seen that they make
I think this one is referencing the Commodore 64 logo along with the megabyte branding. It's a classic 80s look. Dang the last thing I need is another delay pedal but I want one of these.
YES! :)
Ace riffage, my man! And that BLAMMO! Power Boost......
Lemmo's got to get a Blammo!
has anyone tried maxing or adjusting the headroom for oscillation(havoc) inside this pedal?
I don't do a lot of atmospheric stuff or I would definitely get this I use a Lovepedal EPH-3 For a very light repeat just to fatten the tone up
OOOOOOOO YEAH MORE ANDYYYYYYY
Does having a curved thumb help you play better while faux-picking? I've noticed many people have techniques that seem to take advantage of a curvy thumb, and mine doesn't curve at all and it does seem to make it more difficult to do certain thumb picking techniques sometimes.
I am not a fan of labeling knobs with cutesy graphics instead of text. Eye catching finish on that Koll. That was some tasty picking during the slapback segment.
I have the Kilobyte and it’s the greatest goddamn delay ever. Just wish it had tap tempo.
Blammo! Ftw
I'd like to see Andy test the Wilderness by NativeAudio
whats the song??
Would this type of delay be doable for rock or just more ambient stuff?
Absolutely will work for Rock! Especially with the input gain giving a little dirt to say a slapback echo!
Is this better than the DOD Rubberneck? It seems like the Rubberneck does a lot of things that the Megabyte (and Kilobyte) does and for half the price...
The Rubberneck is analog and Megabyte a lofi digital delay, so that's apples and oranges. The price of the Rubberneck is also lowering because they don't make them anymore and unloading their inventory after closing Digitech/DOD. I'd say the Rubberneck really lets you focus on modulation while the Megabyte gives you more control of the input saturation of the delay signal. Thanks!
@@AndyDemos Thanks Andy! I actually ended up getting them both, selling the Megabyte and keeping the Rubberneck! The Rubberneck is a phenomenal delay for the price, and I found the warm analog repeats to be superior. You can achieve many of the same "lofi" sounds as well with the Rubberneck and the sweep of the controls allows for just as much craziness if you desire. Plus the rubbernecking feature and modulation provide fantastic tape-like qualities. The Rubberneck will be a classic one day!
@@AndyDemos apples/oranges aside, do you prefer one over the other? I bought this and it's got a cool sound, but so far, it's just that sound. curious if the dod would get me closer to this, and beyond,, or visa vera..
@@Dungeon_of_Regret In general, analog delays get one ‘sound’ because they have a limited freq range and a lofi method of replicating the signal. So, I wouldn’t say the Rubberneck could do this sound and beyond. However, if you prefer a dirtier, darker delay all the time, analog is your ticket! I personally like the clarity and lower noise of digital (even a lofi digital). Trust your ears over me though👍🏻
The rubber neck has an effects loop, so honestly I would get both. It really is apples and oranges, but everyone needs a quality analog delay, because digital approximations don't deliver 100%. Digital for space and analog for grit.
Did you leave reverb.com?
Steven Penny Nope, just been busy on my channel!
@@AndyDemos I enjoy your videos...
colombians get super-irritated when gringos spell columbia with a u; wonder how ppl feel in SC.
Jesus Loves You
Eh dod rubberneck does all this and more for less $ and without the impossible to figure out symbols
They are fucking insane to charge $250 for this pedal
@@aquatichighs that’s a horrible price 😂😂 the amount of delay pedals you can get for that price or even cheaper with 8x the features is staggering
Late to this comment. Make it yourself and factor the true cost of doing business. FYI. I was in production management.
Ahh here's my delay,it's this or the red llama.but I LOVE CAROLINE PEDALS.
