Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Ok folks, there will be spammers going to reply your comment that you won a prizes. If you get reply don't respond it, just report it as spam.
NO ONE WON ANYTHING!!!
They will going to asking you for up to $200 for shipping fee and you will NEVER get your prizes‼
Zach/Becky, please pin this.
Actually, anyone with more sense than a one-legged duck already knows not to respond to those types.
@@davedammitt7691 Bots survive on one legged Ducks :)
@@beaviswashere8009 what do you name a no-legged duck? Bob.
They reply to a lot of popular channel videos. Thankfully my small channel isn’t getting that.
after I responded it didnt go anywhere so I had figured out it might of been a spammer.. hopefully not a scammer .. anyways it seem a little odd though as Zach didn't mention anything in video at any given time.. thanks for the heads up
The dag is there to Protect you and your family. I like the was that Anna is watching over the kids.
My parents did the same thing when we where younger because if you don’t have it all set up right, the state will get most of everything if something happens and it’s crap.
I’m a retired CPA and have helped a number of families with transition planning. So glad you are pro-active. No one likes to think about change, but the smartest families are those who address change head on. In today’s world a lot of people don’t understand the magnitude of transition. They don’t understand farming and they often are not considerate of all family members needs. Sure you can just “buy the farm”, but where will potentially millions of dollars come from? By the way the IRS probably doesn’t know anything about farming either. One thing to remember for sure is a family farm (business) is always blessed when the next generation wants to continue running the family heirloom. God Bless!
Honestly, I dont think families should be taxed for wanting to continue farming family land, the only time the farm should be taxed is if it is being sold and not inherited.
Buying the Farm is bad, no? 😂 You coulda bought the Farm making that jump too big.
@@turnerg you could say the same thing about every monetary transactions. Farms are just businesses at the end of the day. If you do it for one type of business, it's only fair to do it to all. That's how you get dynasties. That buy up everything and make entry impossible for any other person.
@@tysleight cant eat money 🤷♂️. What it does is force most farmers to sell to large farm corporations or a farmer who is a multi-milionaire who already has a large portion of the market.
I don't understand transitions on the whole, a farm or any other business is taxed when ever they sell product, the property is taxed, the equipment is taxed. To think that the government will go and tax everything again because another family member has taken control of the operation to me is a travesty.
Becky, I don’t know how you put up with him. He’s such a dork😊
I like how the honeybee header uses the header as part of the trailer frame I’ve always wondered if that was possible with bean headers thanks for sharing
I was raised in the Country same as your kids. I had a female Sheppard as well. Everywhere we went, there she was. That IS a good dog.
"This is going smoothly"...yeah, show us all of the outtakes for that, Zach. WE KNOW YOU HAVE THEM
deffo need that 🤣🤣
Or he absolutely jinxed himself
11:55 My kids said they want to see your dog drive haha 😂
Now THAT was an AMAZING hook up . Thank You for FLYING that RAZER the way WE built it to FLY
Love the huge grin on Onyx's face when he saw the new jump.
Female German shepherds are one of the most fiercely breeds as far as protecting their family there is. They are not to be taken lightly. Must be a nice feeling having her around to watch everyone.
If they try to mess with his kids the dog will be the least of their worries.
Agreed, I had a White female Shepherd and she protected all of her "kids" including the 40 something year old ones.
42 years ago, I had a half German Sheperd and half St. Bernard, very mellow towards family.
@@RealJeep dog will hurt a bit more than Zach.
You are so good at what you do. Your dad is fortunate to have you as a son. And no doubt; vis-versa.....
Zach. You the Man. Love watching a Farmer work and Play. Can wait to see the New Building being install. Peace Be With You and Family
The smile on his face when he first saw your jump is priceless.
I wish Non-farmers understood the complexities of farm transitions from one generation to the next! 👍👍
It's any family business. Not just farming
Just to make you jealous, in Ireland & UK no tax on farm succession!
@@Sc-jf3yk So True
The FIRST thing you learn is how NOT to let the massively overly bloated government take 70% of it either death tax or transition taxes. The dumbest thing to do is BUY it out. Say I’m giving my son my car. I’m going to transition ownership to him for $1 at the Notary, title switched over, papers signed, done. $1. Now, if he BOUGHT my car for the appraisal price of the car, he’d be paying the same taxes-but at a much higher rate, then I already paid on that car.
I didn’t raise my son to be an idiot. The last thing we want to do is shell out more cash for our govt to blow on researching methane levels of unicorn farts
Non family members can be the absolute fricken worse
This is the best time of year, I love harvest time more than any other, can't wait to see all the harvest videos!
LOL Onyx grinning ear to ear. Ayla sp? was so cute humoring you about the combines. Stay safe. Have a great harvest.
*The transition of farms from generation to generation is very complicated. However, many people do not know this.*
I would definitely keep an eye on the final drives with the extra weight from the folding corn head and bin extensions
My sister’s comment about farm succession planning was if it was a bakery she wouldn’t put her hand up for the oven.🤔 our process has started 👍
Was surprised to see you order basically a salad for lunch, very healthy.
Always enjoy seeing the kids at play. Looking forward to seeing harvest getting started
we actually had this discussion last year with my our parents. we decided that a trust was best for all of us kids as we can borrow from it if necessary but it will also make sure to take care of any taxes or what not on the farmland, without costing I dividual members of family.
I am so glad that My dad was so wise and listened to his advisors , each of us kids knew what our inharetance was , So we could plan .
That dog will protect her family. Great addition to the farm.
Thank you for not disappointing us. I anxiously waited to see that jump!
I gotta love your videos, Zach, back in the day when we were doing all old school farming .. its nice to see your showing us the new school way.. Keep up the awesome job you do and continue to make farming a fun thing to do.. I love it
The pin dropped in smooth, the pto went on clean, and you hit all the right hydraulics.... I hope you bought a lottery ticket that night.
I would like to think no one threatens to show up and mess with the kids. If they do; go for it Honour.
Great vid again Zach. Thanks!
One if the reasons he has simply safe. About 2 years ago he found people wandering around the property. When questioned, they said they were youtube fans.. treated it like an open movie set.
Simply Safe would alert everyone, Anna would slow them down & Onyx is a very good shot. The Johnson family’s security plan is well in hand.
Zach, I love to watch you interact with your kids. You don't look down at them but treat them with respect and react with them as piers. You are a good dad!!
Peers NOT piers!
@@tonygrimes13 ooooh the grammar police are even on a farm channel!

Aussie farmer here. Transition/inheritance planning is a must. My parents refused all attempted to do something paid me pittance. I had to go hay contracting for years to build a base. Then when they retired they went back on their word to sell to me at what open offer was and sold at that price. It totally wrecked the family
May God watch over and protect you, your family, and those who will be involved in your harvest.
You are a good father and farmer.
Thanks for another great video Zach. It was interesting and enjoyable.
Like the extension you put on the grain tank on the new combine. Add for capacity for you. That new combine looks new. Was really taken care of for sure.
Like the grain cart. Has the scale system and large capacity. Great. Harvest here we come.
Lots of jobs to get done before harvest starts. Busy times.
Like your bean heads. Nice to have one for each combine. Good systems you are using.
About it for now I guess. You all take care and be safe.
Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks for everything Zach.
The Iowa farm boy.

I didn’t know Jim had his own restaurant chain @5:54. Go get em Jim!
Good to see you prepping for the future. The look on onyx face had to be priceless. Stay safe
Once again great Video Love seeing that you are working on a succession plan for the farm and the hard work you do as a farmer and a youtube farm promoter stay safe on your new jump
~reads title and still makes bet that the first cab corn will still be on the first trip out~ hehe
Hi from north west IL.. guys have started shelling corn here.. I’ve heard moisture around 22 to 25… looking forward to harvest season! Happy harvest!
Zach, you are so good with your kid's, and that Ila is so dang cute, very inquisitive, but her affect is what is so funny about her little personality. She really reminds me of my baby sister, well she just turned 48, but she will always be my baby sister. G-d bless.
I've had German Shepherds my whole life. Love the breed. But Didge seems like a fantastic dog. She seems so sweet, until she gets Anna in her crosshairs. "Gitter!"
I look forward to seeing some epic cab corn shots on the new combine.
Wow that’s a big tractor 👍
Can't wait to see you out in the fields making money on your crops!!! Hopefully the company that is going to build your new building for your equipment.
Your daughter is showing a real interest in your farm machinery from such an early age... that's awesome.
It's "Isla Farms" in the making.
I think we had enough exciting content with the tornadoes thank you very much. But it did make me laugh when you said it. Oh, also, I thought it was quite daring of you to actually say how well and easy the hook up to the grain cart went. Usually, if I make an observation like that, the tracks would fall off on the first corner. God bless!
You fella's have some nice equipment...
Im sure you'll be happier when the shed gets built..
That's the kinda dog ever family with kids needs in today's world !
Kyle
Thanks Zach Johnson. Never back down!!!
You know things are going well when a Minnesotan says, "HOLY BUCKETS" Thank you and Becky for all the videos.
You have a great view through the new shed.
Thank you for another great video. Looking forward to the 2022 harvest. Enjoy your new toy
It was 12:30 when you left for your meeting. Linda Brekke was on the Linder Farm Report!
Little tip for hydraulic lines. Put zip ties on the hoses to number them. As in, put 1 zip tie for scv 1, 3 for scv 3 etc. And have them so they're only on the left or right side hose. Makes things so much quicker when we're swapping implements, we have them numbered 1-5 and they go on the left, easy as
When I was a kid on the farm in Manitoba our biggest bin was about that size and they were all square.
It's nice coming home from school and seeing you posted I video
Not gonna lie best part of this one. “ that’s a good dog right there. Mess with these kids and find out!!” Also “dog is guiding me in. Likes to watch and just let the bad stuff happen and say nothing. But makes for good UA-cam :) “
My kids German Shepard would do the same thing she watched the kids and nobody better bother them. Lost her to old age a couple years ago. Replaced her with Idaho Shag, he’s the same way he guards the boys very well. We decided to go with the Idaho Shag because they don’t shed and they are very loyal, and my granddaughter and her husband raises them. They use them to hunt coyotes. Great video
I can’t believe you left us hanging on the landing 😃
Love the new combine! You get 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for getting all the hydraulics hooked right the first time lol
hahaha!!! as soon as you said there's an extra mound of dirt over here by the track, I was like hmm.......... hahaha
I’m excited for you for the Honey Bee & I couldn’t even figure out how to turn a combine on! But when you demo’s one last year it floated like an 🛸 😂Something the Welkers could’ve really used this year having to cut so close to the ground. They harvested a lot of rocks & dirt this year.
Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
Great content - thanks for the entertainment 👍🏻😁
Love the new look of new equipment
Zac, You should spray paint each size hitch a different color and corresponding pin the same color so all you have to do is see the color from a distance and grab the matching color pin when you need it.
I was just thinking it’s been a day or so , Zach should have a video up and boom you did my day is now I gotta grab a couple cold snacks and enjoy the video. Thanks for everything you do!
45'-0"! I have a distinct memory seeing, for the first time, a 20'-0" on a 7700 and thinking it outrageous.
Zach... First, I know zero about farming, but I have watched enough of your videos where you have wondered which size pin was needed for a given piece of equipment. Might I suggest using a color code system. I'm not sure how many colors you would need to paint the pins and the tow eyelet for each implement but it might take the wondering out of play. When I was in the Army as a heavy truck driver it was pretty simple air hoses were red and I think white or yellow on the ends of the hoses if my memory from 30 years ago serves me. The electrical cables for the lights didn't have a color as they were the same for all towed trailers it was a universal light cable. Civilian trailers use different cable connectors for the lights I think.
And by making a heap of sand, dad becomes a hero without a cape. I am sure the apple and the tree had a good go at that sand heap. Enjoy.
502 bushels.. don’t forget cab corn hah
Transition plans are important, working right now to get land purchased during WWII from the wages my father earned in the Navy, the land was bought in Grandfather's name and Dad ended up "buying" it again when Grandpa retired. My uncle farmed the land until he retired and my cousin has farmed the land since then, now cousin is almost ready to retire and since Mom passed away earlier this year we are working to sell the land to his daughter and her husband who will be the next generation of family to farm that land.
Best of luck with it 👍🏻
Zack, when you talk with your lawyer, ask him about putting the farm into a trust. It has been some time since I reviewed estate planning, but I recall this might protect your family from estate taxes.
yes, and protects against crazy x wives in years to come.
Yep. We just went through it. ME 100% IRS ZERO.
Great video. Nice New Combine.
What does oil under combine do? Zack did you already speald some haha?
Great video good to see y'all
So much room for Cab corn!
Morning Zach
Is the bad weather coming your way again ?
Billy. From the UK
Onyx is going to have his hands full with the grain cart, or is the new combine for him maybe 🤔
I don't know I think you could make that leveled ramp a little taller. 🤔 Can't wait to see the 780 get some cab 🌽 this harvest.
You should buy jack hammer attachment for your skid steer so you can brake up rocks in your fields that are always in your way while you are doing your crops
"Looks like you have some good ideas" that might be the funniest part of the whole video.
Enjoy watching your videos from Vernon Center, NY
Suggestions: (1) Number the tractor hydraulic hoses and then put the corresponding number on all the implement ports, then you won't have to remember from last year what goes where and (2) record the hitch pin size for each implement and put onto laminated cards that you can keep in each tractor and where you store the hitch pins. Might save you some time and irritation. I've enjoyed watching your channel. Farming, even on your scale, is BIG business; hard to imagine for this PA non-farmer how much you have invested in your machinery.
We finally got our power back at 4:10 this morning people to the south of us man they just literally got trashed they probably lost everything home everything I mean the only thing I lost was the food in my refrigerator it was really weird after was it Wednesday night after the storm start pulling away temperature dropped to 64°. That's weird for Florida that's that's our winter but it's been cool now no humidity which it feels great just think it was 89 before that.
And I can't wait to use it
You have a lovely farm

I could see the wheels turning in Onyx's head when he showed up and seen that ramp, I guessing it will get a lot of use and maybe even some competitions from dad and son for distances jumped. I can already see snowmobiles in flight.
Just send it. Love your content. SE MN.
Be careful turning sharp with a full hopper those s series are notorious for snapping wheel studs with those hopper extensions. We had a dual come right off the one year
