- Now that I have lost everything, both my main and my alt, how would I go about maxing a new main again from scratch? No GP to claim from a different account, only my own knowledge to get me back to where I was. What would be the optimal route if I were to start over? A combination of corrupted gauntlet, nex and efficient skilling could quickly rebuild everything.

Hell yeah. I’m stuck with my horribly bad cpu laptop for a few days so I’m confined to skilling and I’m pushing the max grind. This is just what I was craving - I actually have been searching your vids to see if you made a vid like this previously. You rock.
Sounds pretty reasonable. Something I don’t see mentioned very often for low level money making is catching eclectics, with recent prices it’s like 2.5-3m/hr and you only need 50 hunter. I would definitely do that on any new account for a little while to get some of the basics
how good is it without dark lure or is that the best method?
@@selkokieli843 dark lure is better but snare/entangle is fine. most of the time youre just spam clicking where they spawn, only need those spells when ur first entering or miss

If you are an Ironman wanting to max, touching grass is your best option.

@@craigkekw Tbf the only annoying lvls to get on ironmen is herblore/construction which can be gotten through kingdom management. Rest of skills are generally the same speed weither ur iron or not.

I would start with Wintertodt for 99 FM and the free Construction experience. Then I would do questing, first on the list being RFD to get at least mithril gloves, Tears of Guthix, and Fossil Island for birdhouses. I would aim for a Quest Cape, doing most of it primarily with range and mage to get the most useful unlocks, like Piety, DS2, RFD, SOTE, SOTF, and MA2. Spend that entire time growing herbs and seaweed, doing farming contracts, and birdhouse runs to buy 83 Construction and a max house, and a cannon for Slayer. After that, I'd fit in a Fire Cape and a Fighter Torso and get a dragon defender, then train Slayer for MM2 until my stats were decent enough to start doing a decent moneymaker like Zulrah, Corrupted Gauntlet, Rune Dragons, or Vyres. From there I'd focus on getting achievement diaries I hadn't gotten along the way in the order I thought they were most important, starting with Lumbridge Elite (after getting a quest cape) for the fairy rings and slayer block list, then probably Fremennik Elite. At this point (probably 2-3 years from account creation), I'd consider myself pretty caught up and work towards my current account goals: maxing, Infernal Cape, Combat Achievements, and doing Master Clues.
I made an alt account with somewhat of the same mentality: If I started over, how efficiently could I level up my account with the knowledge I have now? Except instead of starting from scratch, my main is now a sugar daddy lol. So first thing I did was bang out everything that benefits from low combat (Chaos Altar Prayer, Wintertodt), and took advantage of the quality of life aspects as early on as I could. So I got my graceful, and lvl 83 construction. Then spammed the Quest Helper, with the quest list ordered by Optimal, since by the time I heard of the plugin I already had my quest cape. I also regret my main having such a low slayer level, so I'm avoiding NMZ as much as possible, and rather training combat through slayer. Loved Wildy slayer but recently switched.
@Zahdorfi when you say 80-88 what do you mean? Total combat or each combat stat? This time around I also only do slayer with super sets, and I cannon when possible, unlike on my main, where I never used any pots or cannon because I was stingy. So now I'm blowing through my slayer.

Happened to me 5 or 6 years ago. Took me 3 years but I came back eventually and took over my old account within a year. Turns out I was mad inefficient back pre 2010!

200 hours in 3 weeks? Let's see. There are 504 hours in 3 weeks, if you work a job you would spend 40x3 = 120 hours working. Sleeping for 8 hours a day = 168 hours sleeping. Which means that are 288 hours gone. 504-288 hours is 216 hours left. That means you would have to spend pretty much every waking hour nexing lmao. Nty

A fire alarm came on in my property, and with it being a shared accommodation it was the loudest thing you can imagine
I couldn't hear anything in cg I missed it switch attacks, I know I should have seen it but it was literally one or two ticks after the alarm sounded I was confused at first unsure if I should leave etc

I am actually making a new main account already haha. On the questing spree at the moment after doing the boring 99 wt start. So many new methods and updates since I maxed the last account. The goal is to make my other main account look like a noob.
I love building new accounts with better methods and more macroefficient plan than I had before. GIM has been especially great as we get to share knowledge and extra items.
What I would do as someone who plays for fun:
I’m not maxed and have no interest in maxing at this stage, but I’d do quest cape and hard diaries first if I were to restart. I might make a main and an alt at the same time so I could do afk skills I need for one while doing active skills on the other, then send the alt to afk money makers like vyres and wyverns while I continue on the main, that don’t require a lot of capital for gear, which would be a nice little boost to my early cash stack. Also herb runs every hour on both accounts, which take no time and are basically free.
On the main I’d focus on training Mage and range in the early game through Slayer and a bit of Barrows, get myself a blowpipe and basic trident of the seas, then start doing Zulrah on the main (fewer requirements to start than Vork and way more fun imo, which makes it worth the lower gp/h).
By the time I get quest cape on the main that would hopefully give me enough cash to go chin/barrage to 99 mage/range, then I’d start Gauntlet and farm myself a bowfa, full crystal and a blade of saeldor.
On the side, I would start training melees through Slayer, starting with a d scim, torso, obby legs and defender, and once I get the bowfa, go get an Infernal Cape.
The extra cash from Gauntlet and Slayer by the time I get both weapons (at 1/400 each) should also get me all zenytes and likely full Bandos, DWH, Avernic and prims, or at least close to. This now gives me a really decent melee and range setup.
Then I’d need a break from gauntlet, cause hey, I need variety. I would continue towards maxing Slayer and melees and doing some more diverse money-makers, from Nex with Bowfa to maybe some 6:0 GWD and bowfa-only Zulrah when I feel lazy (gotta get that mutagen 👀). I can also start sending tobs and solo cox with the blade for fun, once my melees are high enough. I’d be now saving up for a DHL and mage upgrades, followed by max gear gradually. At this time I’d start working towards Achievement Diary cape, focussing on afk methods, and put a bit more work into the alt so I could lend it gear to do solo raids while I skill on the main or do blood runes (more for fun than anything).
Once I’ve got my skills up a little more, so it’s a little less cringe, and have upgraded enough gear to start doing raids more efficiently, I would finally start grinding for Zuk helm. This leads me to where I am on the main currently.

While this is a cool idea and all, could it be any less realistic? What is the probability of you doing some of the most efficient skilling methods from 1-99 without getting bored? Nex every day for 3 weeks without getting bored and doing something else for a bit? AFK x until you get pet despite the fact that you might go way over 99 for said pet? Cool idea until you think about it for 2 seconds.
This would take at least 2-3 years with a “somewhat” normal life.

The desert amulet is very useful for volcanic mine? Why? Wiki doesn't mention the amulet at all for the volcanic mine, why is it helpful there?
when volcanic mine games end you want to fully restore your hp and prayer, and the desert amulet is technically faster than a construction cape / house tele. nice to have but doesn't matter too much tbh

My guy casually says once you completed song of the elves quest. For new players out there. For this quest you about level 70 in most skills. It is also recommended to be the last quest you complete. We’re talking hours of invested time. Maybe months

Interesting path back to the top, a piece you didn't mention is you'd be using your network along the way, in such finding raid teams, and Nex teams is significantly easier.

If my main got hacked, or nuked, I'd probably play a 1 def UIM. Probably going to solo Todt for 68-70 con, then finish the remaining quests I have. Keeping attack at 60, def at 1 and questing prayer to my maximum, then leveling it to 55.
Slayer and bossing towards 95, and doing the most "pet efficient" routes from my skilling if it isnt a really massive slog.
Slayer, GWD, CoX and clues for gear.

Doing prospectors at 85 is more xp, since the nugget time is fixed so might as well get more xp from higher tier ores, if you don't mind delaying diary
what stats would you recommend for the corrupted gauntlet
I've only done few CG, so take this with grain of salt. But combat skills like range, magic, and defense at 85 should be a minimum to at least be comfortable at it. Still thought, leveling up higher makes it much much more efficient

If my main got reset I wouldn't care since it has a 50m bank and 1600 total, and I haven't played on it for over 3 years. If my ironman got reset, I would quit immediately.
I don’t even play the game anymore, so if my (far from maxed) main got banned, I would just quit immediately
I wouldn't max again, I would get max CBs and any other useful 99s, then train stats to complete all diaries and master clue steps and call that closer enough to maxed to be done with it.
You should probably add UA-cam tags or something to your vids. I couldn’t find this video in my history by searching “osrs” or “RuneScape” or “maxed” and a couple others. For some reason UA-cam doesn’t like your vid and won’t let people search for it.
I deleted my account a while ago because I was addicted to staking and got tired of rebuilding then staking it all over and over again. it was almost maxed I had all 99’s except 93 slayer. I still have an alt with around a 1900 total level. I have had the urge to play again and sometimes I do some gauntlet on my alt. Already gotten the pet and enhanced crystal weapon seed at gauntlet. But RuneScape just can’t hold my attention for very long anymore these days, idk why. I just have no motivation to try to max again after already having got so close once. Now that staking is basically gone I’ve tried playing again but just get bored fast. It doesn’t help that my clan has basically disappeared.

You start by logging in.
I dm’d my 7b bank and now hve a 35m bank so I’ve been doing cg and scuff 150s at TOA, not really motivating to play, but my wife’s started playing so she won’t lemme quit 😂 game on
same boat, went from 1b to 130m and now down to 60m because i decided to max and just sell the rest and put it in buyables

200 hours divided by 3 weeks= 66&2/3rds hours per week. If you play 5 days a week, 66.66/5 = 13h20mins PER DAY. If you do it 7 days a week, 66h40mins/week divided by 7= 9.5 hrs per day. For 21 days straight. No weekends. That's 50% more hours a week than a full time job, of intense, focused activity.
I don't mean to judge but like... do you have a catheter and bedpan or something? How can you possibly do 9.5 efficient, focused hours of Nex per day, for 21 days straight, without getting tired?
But to be fair to you, I guess you did title the video "How Would ***I*** MAX My Main From Scratch? (OSRS)" not "How ***you*** should max your main from scratch.
For 99% of players, this route is totally infeasible. But I guess since you say "and I would just grab the Inferno Cape whenever I feel like it" I shouldn't be surprised 🤣
