It's a little more complicated than Invisible. With Invisible, you wouldn't be able to flip over the deck without revealing that there are faces on both sides. I'm not certain what he's doing here, but it's definitely a cool twist on the rough-backed gimmick that makes it a lot more deceptive.

I spend way too much time watching these now that I'm working from home...
Finally a comedian who doesn't seem to be a frustrated stand up comedian. Very cool trick and no 5 minutes of bad comedy beforehand.
Yeah, really unforced style of patter, which was refreshing.
Even decades later Allison is still the cutest actress from American pie.
yesterday i thought that she looks familiar
my head always goes to her being Willow
Still true 2y later
5:13 - When Alyson asks how long it took to master this, and he says it’s none of her business, that caught me off guard and I laughed!
the "oh boy" rule. if Penn say start with those words is a no fool
😀
watch Ryan hayashi's one ;)
Right on man!! You look like you belong on television. Your presence was strong from the start and carried right thru the segment. Great Job!!!
Nerves are high when you try this kind of simple stuff on P & T. Amazing that someone would even try that.
What a beautifully clean trick. Very nicely done!
the cleanest, best card trick I ever saw
Never seen Teller look so impressed!!!
That was stunning! What should be impossible just happened!
come ooooooon Penn! give us more please! you magicians know the future or whattttt

So excited to see you at the Wareham in Manhattan, KS next Friday!!!!!!

Penn and Teller = magic genius! Rough face surface and smooth back surface cards, and a double sided card A-Q.

You may not have fooled P&T but as far as I'm concerned you're a wizard.
That was awesome I love a simple yet complex card trick!

Exceedingly excellent trick.
I'm thinking he had the ace of diamond hidden and not with those cards that Alyson put down! But it was a great trick!!!

good stuff. thanks
I feel like he always mentions simple, clean cut tricks. Ive seen it twice, and it was both times magician code.
It's very good. You know how he did it. Don't tell everyone. 😀😁
but how? he didnt do anything? how was it done
Can anybody explain the code they used?
Awesome!
Smooth and rough... marked card?
no, 53 cards in deck, so they just sticked to each other to cover only needed
Did someone else do a similar trick in season 1 or 2?
That's a wicked trick

oh man so good, but penn lied, he saw the false shuffle. everything wasnt clean, but it was sure sticky!
