Kid should have played Bg4 right away instead of Bd7. Bg4 after d4 is super annoying for white in this line. I think Hikaru regretted not playing h3 before d4 and he congratulated him on finding Bg4 when he did even though it was a bit late. Obv Bd7 where he played it just lost tactically but Hikaru gave him a free move to let him develop out of good sportsmanship.
Any kid that can take a GM down to a king and 4 pawns has a bright chess future ahead of him.
