I don't think it's the korean culture itself i mean non celebrity males and females interact just fine but this is more of the toxic fan culture in kpop where idols breath next to eachother and people will run wild with their imaginaition

@@born2b646 I honestly think its the culture cause other korean channels which I watch talk about the difference in interaction between genders. It wasn't until recent they said that things have begun to change. Things like "skinship - hugs " between people you an not familiar or dating is still highly awkward.
@@fessi yes the culture is still somewhat conservative, BUT the idols case is different and extreme apart from what i said above I also say it's toxic fan culture because it's something that's different from one idol to another and from one fan to another such interractions are at times seen as cute friendship and everybody moves on but other times it's instantly a dating rumor and the media gets involved and they try to get "proofs" (which is usually idols wearing the same color), then toxic posessive fans get involved(they start acting like idols killed someone) and they make it awkward. So idols just simply try to avoid all the chaos be being as preserved as possible arround the opposite gender which naturally leads to awkwardness even with the most extroverted and outgoing ones
@@born2b646 in that regard I do believe that there are toxic fans who do that but as well you have to blame the host/ announcers and their companies (idol companies) in that regard cause they know fully well that those things happen and yet they still create situations like that. This is cause they are marketing the idols irregardless of the backlash. So I think the whole mindset of the K-pop industry needs to change for an organic coexistence between idols of different genders.

Yeah, that guy who had very short hair who received an award at 12:14 is called D.O and he cut his hair for the movie ‘Swing kids’ he acted in! He is one of the main vocalists from the group EXO and it was his birthday yesterday (12th January). He has just come back from his mandatory military service so us EXO-Ls are very excited

Yeah. That stuff about Jin and that guy with the girl (forgive me I don't know their names). They are awkward around each other because of dating rumours that usually go around just by merely standing close to a girl or boy. Jin looked at her hand before doing his own pose so they wouldn't use that to start another dating rumour. Believe it or not, something as simple as doing the same hand pose as another idol can cause a serious issue. So they're merely being careful.

A lot of people are blaming shippers for the awkward interactions between opposite sexe idols, but its mostly due to culture and respect. For example, if guys do put their arms around girls, unless they get the ok, they keep their hands off of her body. I honestly find it very respectful and considerate.
And about JK looking away from the girls dancing... thats just JK being uncomfortable/awkward about girls 😂
@Ana Pinto thx for generalizing everyone when most of us don’t even ship. You know not everyone is like that and your just believe a stereotype based on the small amount of people that are in fact toxic. I do admit some people are but that doesn’t mean all kpop fans are toxic. I could just say your someone who likes to judge others because it makes you feel better about yourself and your own toxic habits, but I won’t because I don’t know you. Kpop is a huge community and its not black and white so stop being a dick and insulting us with your minimum of stereotyped knowledge.
And also how is anything i mentioned close to toxic, at least direct your message to those actually being so and stop demeaning whats actually good.
@Ana Pinto i agree that the small amount are horrible and dangerous and cannot be forgiven but thats why theres a term for them (sasaeng). You can't put an entire community into one box because of a few bad apples, very bad apples.
