@@sundaypro if you barely play the piano, this piece could be very challenging, mainly because of the following: the high speed, the huge and fast jumps, and the even rhythm for 1st and 3rd parts; the articulation, change of dynamics and the fingering for the 2nd part. Besides this piece lasts more than 6 minutes (at a pretty high speed), which requires well-trained endurance.
Отличное исполнение этой прекрасной песни. Отлично передан Испанский дух, и непременно что-то арабское в этом есть. Исполнителю искренний и низкий поклон за воспроизведение замечательной музыки.
Bravo!!! This is, by far, the best piano interpretation that I have seen and heard. You have truly captured the feeling and the emotion of this composition.

Muchas gracias.
Mr. Garrido, I like the fact that you don't rush through the music. I have been criticized for playing it "a bit too slow" I guess compared to most UA-cam videos. I know the piece says Allegro, likely 132 per beat. But it still sounds somewhat rushed at that speed. I enjoyed your relaxed lento on the 8ve melody. Your respect for the various articulations through the piece does make a big difference. Sometimes one tends to overlook them when they occur suddenly and striking contrast. I will certainly keep your interpretation in mind. Well performed Sir.
It is something I never could understand. I mean, when I play Chopin's etudes I always play it slower than others. It is not because I don´t have enough tecnique, it is just because I try to enjoy melody and garmony. Or even some slow Nocturnes people sometimes play like faster than it could be. I don't know how to explain it, hope u'll get it :)
Dear Mr. Garrido, this is the best version on piano that I have heard. Oh you played with so much feelings. Thank you for sharing this beautiful music. I'm looking forward to hearing more music from you. Roxana O'Hearn
Very good version. Laconically. No bullshit like razzmatazz, snivels, pathos, etc, but still very sensationally, with great deep feeling. Mannishly, with self-esteem, very like flamenco. And I think, very close to author's original idea, Albeniz was in love in Andalusia and muslim culture of south regions of Espania, such as Berber's arts in Alhambra. But, these highlighted chords I feeling as rasgueado in flamenco guitar! I like dry sounding in beggining middle part - cante jondo. And very, very cool final. Usualy musiciants trying to finalize this piece, but author wrote this with unexpected, unaccomplished coda, something like question: conflict beetwen choral vs. moresque motif... And your interpretation have all of this. Thank you so much for brilliant performance.
@@solaris5489 Indeed, but the "Asturias" title was put by the Albéniz's German editor, who had no idea of Spain and its cultures... He simply chose one province or region for each piece and he was happy about it: "Spanish Suite", indeed!. Asturian music is of celtic origin, mostly performed with bagpipes, drums and tambourines, much different from any flamenco style... So he is not wrong, as Albéniz's influences are, indeed, or berber/andalusian origins in all these pieces, in varying degrees of explicit. Still, magnificent pieces and very touching performance.
the best interpretation that I've watched ! congratulations ! i'm greeting from Brazil ...A melhor interpretação que já assisti ! eu o saúdo do Brasil !
Prefect interpretation of this masterpiece. I have saved it to watch it again and again. I can play this on guitar and am learning it for piano but I am not a musician, I play just for fun. I like to make one suggestion which I hope you can incorporate it in your next recording of this piece. This piece was written for piano but the guitar version is the one every one recognises and every guitarist plays, so the guitar version is the default version. Even though this piece is all staccato, with guitar the bass string is not dampened so it resonates through the piece making it very rich and soulful. But on piano using the sustain pedal spoils it. However I realised the middle pedal the "Sostenuto pedal" is perfect for this piece. I have never seen a piece that this pedal is used. So when playing the bass note you can hold that note only so the rest of the notes are played in staccato. For this piece it really makes a huge difference. You have to compare it with the guitar version to see what I mean. Also, I realised when the notes go into octaves the piano one plays the octaves together but the guitar version plays it alternately. I found that playing those notes alternately makes it more vibrant and more interesting. thanks
Now my heart and mind are finally at peace studying Asturias after I listened to your wonderful interpretation - thank you so much for sharing! ¡Que te vaya bien!

This is one of the best versions, that I can find sofar on UA-cam. The other one is played by Alice De Larocha, which was recommended by my piano teacher. IMHO, your interpretation stays true to the notes concerning the dynamics and beats. I noticed that many other versions put too many alterations especially the beats in the slow parts or the speed is awfully fast. I am learning this beautiful piece after one-year piano lessons. Although I've been learning this for 2 months, it is still pretty challenging for me. I wish that I could play as beautifully and accurately as you do someday.
