- Three meters in diameter, two tons of weight - the Ocean Sunfish or Mola is the biggest and one of the most weird bony fish in our oceans. Underwater filmmaker Thomas Behrend manages to search out this giant in the Pacific as well as in the Mediterranean Sea. He captures unique scenes of a creature that normally lives in the unreachable deep sea.
In Florida Thomas also meets a real giant. Massive but gentle Manatees put a spell on Thomas. But then the filmmaker witnesses how an undercooled Manatee gets into danger. A race against time begins… - Наука та технологія
The lady with the little braids, I love her little Mola hair ties. She is the one who is tagging the Molas. What a wonderful presentation about both the Mola and the Manatee.
I live in florida near manatees. I see them all the time. The Crystal river is not too far from where i live. But you can see them in many different places. I actually live in Manatee County, Florida. We had the oldest living manatee in captivity who was 59yrs old. One evening, someone at the aquarium forgot to shut a gate that leads to some equipment. The next day the found the manatee dead in the equipment area. The manatee went in there but couldn’t get back out and couldn’t get air so it drowned. That was about last year. It was a huge story and all the Florida people were so sad. Poor hootie. RIP Hootie. It really was a sad affair. I feel bad for the person that accidentally left the gate open. So much for seeing how long they can live. Start over I guess.
Since Manatee are endangered you are not allowed to touch them. So if you are wondering why Thomas puts his arms out to the side when the calf climbs up him.
It’s very beautiful to see a young baby with its mom and swimming in the waters coming up for air and have a grate time
*You mean "great time," don't you?*
Lol grate
Little squeaks from manatees cub is so cute doesnt matter watever creatures in this world babies r always joyful n playful 😆😚
I love getting to know this camera crew. Hey Thomas. Love your documentaries. No more Air balloons. I don't want you to have any more close calls. You are very brave .
Thank you very much, I enjoyed this particular production greatly. A work well done!
I💗Manatees!
I fucking cant stand them
happy giant sea hippo cow people with vacuum cleaner sprirolina harvesting schonzs
I love these random people who take time out of their lives to take care of the manatees
@@Nature-hx2pu me too, that's the type of stuff we all should put before filling the air with exhaust and loading the ocean with plastic.
You should never take a manatee's Mac n cheese situation.
A Manatee brushed up my friend's leg once when she swimming and she thought it was an hairy old man
AXLE Dire-dog It was a hairy old man. Brett Keane.
🤣
I love manatees
Wow, Thomas thanks so much for the awesome video shoot of such a beautiful SUN FISH and MOLARS. How gorgeous are the Manatees what fantastic animal's. 👍💋😍

Yeah, I also that was a callous comment.
Manatees are cute
YEAH SO UGLY THEY ARE CUTE...LOL
sun fish are so perfect
Checking on Manatees with high speed propeller driven boats seems kinda hypocritical at best.
4:49 lol! The way he pronounces algae
*Yeah I agree, these guys are complete IDIOTS.*
That's just another correct way of saying it (European). But--anybody narrating ocean documentaries ought to learn how to say anemone.
Manatees
agree!!!
Quinnelle don't wish. Act
Quinnelle you are correact. A thin basket with two or three very very thin rods could protect t these fat bastards- same as a classic fan that only had a few bars
Quinnelle did
Do not say wish. Always use a pronoun. No pronoun -imperative
These Sunfish are truly remarkable . As close to an alien as one is ever likely to meet .
And highly useful to prevent a jellyfish over population .
The flippers of the Sunfish are highly prized In some cultures. Usually to make erectile dysfunction lotions and savs
Manatees are the best 😇
Awesome. My top 2 favorite water animals are sunfish and manatees and they are both in one video
In the land of my birth we used to capture baby manatees up to a dozen at a time. After that, we trained them to drag our barges filled with coconuts Up and Down the River
Someone needs to investigate the possibility of commercially farming seas cows.
anyone know the background music around 19:10 ~ 20:05? please! it's so beautiful!...
It is so sad they’re endangered😬
Not sure how kind this is; if you think past the 'entertainment' value it provides you
Puddit TV no whining
anchoring drift signals to sun fish shouldn't protrude sun fish
1 IF BY LAND
2 IF BY SEA
3 IS FOR THE MANATEE
"Sea anamoans".
They saw a manatee in the film with evidence of a shark bite on him/her. What would cause the shark to not continue in his/her attack so that the shark can eat something? It doesn't seem that a manatee can easily fight off a shark to cause the attack to stop. Manatees also don't seem fast enough to out swim a shark to safety. Could it have something to do with most sharks preferring saltwater and this Florida manatee was in freshwater when the researches noticed the shark bite on her belly? If not, could it be that the manatee stirred up the silty bottom to create an inability to see which direction the manatee swam off in? Do some sharks bite and then suddenly decide they don't need any food? Why would that manatee still be alive is what I'm asking.
I think it was an injury from a boat, not a shark
Sharks often take an initial bite to check that is is food that they are biting. This is really the reason that most mynas survive shark attacks as it is often a reasonably light bite and then the shark realises that this is not a seal but a human and swims off. I would assume this is what may have happened with the sharks
Manatees r the sloths of the ocean there cute as
Anna-moans? How about anemones? The dugong of Australia is also a marine mammal which grazes on seagrass.
but it a type of manate
but it a type of manate
The dugong is not a manatee they are two separate species classified in the same order: Sirenia (Sea Cows)
Hehe anna-.moans and perches
Plural of Perch is Perch...
What a vile woman at 15:44!
Agreed.
42:35 et seq: in winter of 2010, US manatee population decimated by sudden episode of global cooling.
Why does the narrator pronounce everything wrong tho
They had another video with this name
Wow, just wow. If there are aliens on earth then the deep blue is where they have made their home. The diversity is unbelievable.
" Maybe if we're lucky, we can see a shark attack and eat a Mola Mola"? Would that be just as much fun as watching a Grizzly tearing a Hamster apart...what an unusually cruel thing to say.? The outcome of the shark and the docile Mola Mola is predetermined and not a particularly appropriate thing to wish for. They are not there just for your delight in your odd predilection for violence, madame...
This is a long video
I can't stand the stupid squeaking noises they edit into this video whenever they show a baby Manatee
i hate school
Manatees are cute
