Village of LIMENARIA | Thassos, Greece | Tour August 2022

Limenaria is the second largest village on the island of Thassos. It’s 38 km away from the main port Limenas. The beach is walking distance away from the accommodations and there are countless beautiful beaches on a 10 to 20 min. driving distance.
The landmark of the village is “PALATAKI”. The administrative building of a German mining company that was built back in 1900. You can see the building from the dining and leisure area at the port but, would not recommend visiting the place because it's a ruin.
You can go shopping on the street parallel to the dining and leisure area. You can find the most authentic olive products, honey, and spices among other interesting original items.
Supermarket prices:
Bread: ±2 EUR
6x0,33 soda: ± 4 EUR
Potato chips (300 g.): ±1 EUR
Nescafe Classic (180 g.): ±4,5 EUR
Local Olive Oil 5l. (extra virgin): ±28 EUR
Chocolate 100g.: ±1,3 EUR
Milk 1,5l.: ±3 EUR
Peaches 1 kg.: ±2,5 EUR (you got to try them)
Watermelon 1 kg.: 0,7 EUR
The most affordable accommodation is 70 EUR. And it’s usually enough for a family of 4 (2 kids). These types of apartments are usually tight but, this is what it's like all around Greece. If you want a larger and more comfortable place you will have to book a hotel room but, the price for such accommodation is much higher.
I would recommend staying in an apartment (private accommodation) because you are not going to spend much time in the room. There are a lot of attractions and “lend marks” to be seen and beautiful beaches to be visited. I would also recommend eating at the beaches. The food is fresh and delicious.
