Only ever seen this Programme L for Lester on UA-cam it is a classic comedy i think it is equally good as George and Mildred very funny both situation comedies 😅😂😂

the chap playing the bank manager is the same actor who played Sir Desmond Glazebrook the head of the bank of england in Yes Minister. Nice to see his promotion came through
I must of seen this but couldnt remember so long ago,but I found this very funny and watched all we was disappointed that ep 5 had only the first half and all there is only 1 series of 6 episodes,what a disappointment,there is not many programmes that make me laugh now a days but when it seems there was some in the past they are lost or end,Why..such a shame Brian Murphy is so funny he makes me crack up,such talent.
Murphy eas very funny 'turn' 'turn' because he 'old school'... that's why he was loved...and he was no where near the finished article hear....if you wont to see that watch him, when he was 'Roper' the impotent 'traffic warden', isn't that comical...driving instructor..to..traffic warden The finished article ...he specialality was like watching those cartoons where the legs are running, but the character is standing still...the double-take look, the hesitation in word and bodily function nobody did it better, it came from a different era, he was born to late, he should been sharing scenes with the silent movie stars, like laurel&Hardy.

Lady at in the car at the start was Hilda Braid, who played "Mum" in CITIZIEN SMITH, and the police chief was James Cossins.

Suprisingly, Brian Murphy is still with us, in his 90s now.
Forgot about this programme. Some of it was filmed in Charlestown St Austell Cornwall.
