Bio: Leonardo Torres was raised Catholic and left the church at age 18 after being threatened to be kicked out for asking questions about the bible. He identified as an Atheist for 12 years and spent that time actively arguing with street preachers, witnesses and anyone else who brought up religion. At age 30, he had a strong encounter with God that made him drop his Atheist title and he became a free follower of GOD which he calls, "The Great Spirit". Taking God seriously and following Him wherever He leads him, Leonardo started this UA-cam Channel reaction to music as a "Non-Christian" musician reviewing Christian music. The music and the stories began to learn more about Christ and considers himself a Student of Christ. Whether that means "Christian" or not is yet to be determined, but this channel is like a lost and found for lost sheep, Leonardo's goal is to create a safe space where God can find those who are yearning for Him. Leonardo wants to remind followers of Christ to love one another as they were commanded. The main theme of this channel is "Spread Love", and that's what we do, we take the love that God has given to us and we spread it to those who need it.

What I love about this song is that there are always two sides to the story. Our side which is mostly broken and sad. Then there's God side, where He always remains faithful and good to us even if we don't deserve it.

I lost my 18 year old son this past January. Loosing your child is the most painful thing that could happen to any parent. I often journaled with the first 2 words saying “ DEAR GOD” I often think back and wish I had a do over. My son was so amazing I wish I could change that fatal night. I know hay I will see him again. God has walked with me through every part of this horrible journey. I am blessed to have God always there to pick up the pieces and continue life, even when your broken. Thank you for this song. Love God trust God and follow God.

Man I dont see the "non Christian" in your title, in my heart I am praying for you as I watch this video and write this. As a man I have done alot of wrong in my life and I have tried everything to pull myself out of dark and empty places and i tell you the truth when I say this, Christ is the only hand that never let go when I reached out. We slip and fall but He is perfect in His ways and has a powerful grip and does not let go even when we get tired of hanging on.

And His mercy and grace are unconditional. It's not based on what we do or deserve because we are not worthy. He gives it freely out of love because He is love and He can. We are to love others in the same way, whether they deserve it or appreciate it. But it's hard because we are not God. Thankfully He is right there with us through it all. The first time I heard this song my heart opened up so big to God. The very last line “my child, you can love again” hit me like a ton of bricks🥺
I hope you don't mind my input here. First, thank you for sharing this reaction.
As I watched the beginning, I started out thinking that if this is a Letter to God, there is no "work" we can ever do, other than accepting Christ and Living for Him, that would be pleasing to God. Then, the response from God to us as His children; that one just hit HOME. You see, I was adopted at birth. The parents that raised me; mother was a registered medical secretary and worked upwards of 40 hours a week, and my father was an attorney that worked upwards of 60 hours a week. Both were alcoholics and when I was 10 years old they divorced. My father moved to north Georgia and my mother and I stayed in the metro Chattanooga area. My father was around but not always sober so, I virtually cut him out of my life, especially as I got older.
The response from God was the letter that I always wish I had received from my father, but never did. Growing up, I was bullied (until I beat the crap out of one of those bully's and started weight training), my father's nickname for me was "stupid". Even after he found me reading one of his college books on Torts (personal injury) when I was I think 9 years old.
He wanted me to be like him and an attorney too. There is so much more I could write here, but the crux of my comment is: Be certain to tell everyone that matters to you how much you love them and that you are proud of their personal accomplishments.

I broke down to tears when the second part of the song..."Dear child..." I'm not born as a Christian, my belief before is you can't call God as Father, and you have to work your way to go to heaven..pray and fasting and do good deeds. But God saved me when I was 19 years old. It has been an interesting and amazing journey with God, now I'm 38 years old. And to be honest, there's a time I felt like giving up but God didn't allow that to happen. This song is exactly what I am feeling. Thank you Jesus! Teach me to love you like you have loved me. I watched your UA-cam channel last night for the first time. I love it! The songs you played are songs that have been part of my healing journey , especially this last year. I went through stage four breast cancer. The music I was listen to ,brought so much comfort to me. I felt God's present and I knew I wasn't alone that I was going to be OK. So much Love , Comfort and Joy I feel through the the words of those songs. My radio station is "Christian Rock 106.5". I live in Washington State. This is one of by FAVORITE songs!! Reminds me so so much of my 22 yr old son who just passed away from a drunk driver.. he loved the lord so so much no matter how many times he stubbles, his heart was first for God and I know that’s why God took him home to be with him so he wouldn’t have to try to recover from such a horrible accident that he was a passenger in.

I loved this song. I think the lyrics really express how we feel as human beings and how we perceive Gods response to us. I don’t expect the lyrics to be scriptural as I approach this song more as a prayer of the believer and how we, in our imperfection aspire to imitate the heart of God in His perfection. As a new believer, I look to my bible for scripture and songs like this help me to unravel and make sense of the relationship I seek with God. The lyrics illustrate a feeling, a yearning and a thirst for relationship. Add to that the beautiful melody and you have a perfect expression of love. After all, isn’t that the ultimate of Gods commandments. 💕😊
