Patrick Sweany is part of the wider Dan Auerbach contingent. Before the Black Keys, Auerbach was a guitarist in Patrick's band back in Ohio. He has also produced two of Patrick's records. Over the past year, Sweany has picked up a Fender/Guild endorsement and toured the country several times. On a given night he'll swing through blues, folk, soul, bluegrass, maybe some classic 50s rock, or punk. Patrick Sweany recorded this Shiner Session in the Do512 Lounge during SXSW 2013.

After 8 years this is still the best original pure blues rock out there. Patrick Sweany is the definition of underrated.
💯 this song has rocked my world for years.
As much as I can appreciate the Black Keys and their recent fame (aka Dan Auerbach). It is quite ridiculous that Mr. Sweany is not yet a household name. His talent as a musician and as a creator of magnificent songs.... is profuse.
8 years later I totally agree. These ate seriously great blues rock tunes. It misses the pop factor of black keys tho. But that's just ok. Hes still steady on the road. Has a weekly blue Monday spot in Nashville. Household name doesnt really mean much anymore. Cardi B is a household name. While I agree he deserves the world, hes doing very well for a modern blues rocker
Its himself. He cant manage himself.
God that guitar sounds good.
this guy is a serial badass
That is probably the best title for him, full stop.
I didn't think anyone made music like this anymore! THANK YOU PANDORA!
The sound is close-ish to a band I heard a while ago in DC, Delta Highway Blues ua-cam.com/video/6SQhqytWK0Y/v-deo.html
I didn't think a dumbass wearing crocs with a stupid hair cut would be so stupid to comment
I hope it went to the idiot
That's how I found him! He and Gary Clark, Jr.. 🤯
thank you pandora
me as well. i found them through pandora off black keys.
Same here!!
this guy got me i love this jam
blues rock playlist in spotify.
Yep I heard this song on Pandora and I ended up buying the album every hour is an hour gone. Great album
Holy shite. It's Blues Joe Strummer. This is awesome. Very happy to attend the show tomorrow night in Charlotte.
the 1:17 part is what hooks me every time, with that sweet tremolo sound and the thumb picking the bass while the other fingers play a sick melody, not easy to do by any means! love this guy!
Simply incredible. What a talent. I agree with Puffle, People need to hear more of him. Maybe increased interest in Black Keys will help. In my case it led me here..
although this reminds me of the black keys....This guy....this song is the real deal. We cant get enough. already downloaded more of his stuff. Likey
+chris fearless Dan Auerbach was in Patricks band for awhile.
Cool.
Dan Auerbach produced this record
Early, early keys i might add
Such a great discovery on Pandora! What a performance! Bravo Patrick Sweeney.
This is the first song I’ve ever heard from him and I fell in love with the song! I’m really enjoying his music; I love the lyrics and sound! 1:20 is one of my favorite parts.
Same here. Herd him first on The Motor City Blues show 89.9FM
Топ! Одна из самых любимых песен)
The coolest riffs ever!!
Got the stereo version of this song in my Discover Weekly list a couple of weeks ago but I hadn't heard this version yet. Absolutely loving it!
No pandora for me, I was just clicking around on random artists on iTunes and came across Patrick Sweany, now I'm hooked!
Came here after hearing this song on Amazon Americana. What a great mix of blues and rock.
Jack white & pandora ,introduced me to this song.
Pandora & The Black Keys introduced me to this song.
Haha, wen something its real u can just feel it in ur soul haha.
+frankenzion0001 Yeah, I found him on a Pandora channel seeded by Black Keys.
Me too!
Cristian Hernandez funny you mention that, and several others did as well. I saw an interview with him where he was talking about how he owes his acclaim to Pandora because he got tied to The Black Keys and White Stripes channels, and that’s exactly how I found him too
Man, I came cause I love the song, but the singer is hot, too!
i love this song🎶
Pandora & Gary Clark Jr. Introduced me to this song. 🎧😍🎶💖️🔥💯
Pat's a mean machine. So much soul.
Great reminds me of Paul Kossoff of "Free" and even some "Spirit" thrown in there - great sound
great sound
Damn, he went hard on this performance
I am so fucking glad I found this.
Blues baby......try some R L Burnside
Found this guy on a Eddie 9v playlist and was hooked from the first minute. Can’t wait till he makes it to my area to see his band live.
@Jack O'Brien
Dan Auerbach produced Patrick Sweany's second album entitled "Every Hour Is A Dollar Gone" (which this song is off of). Sweany has 3 albums out now, but this is the only album produced by Auerbach.
Holt shit this man is baddest soul & grit love it
Aside from being a killer tune, the drummer has one of the sweetest beards I've seen in a long time.
LOVE THIS SONG! True talent :)
This should be winning Grammys!
Just amazing! Love it!
Damn fine!! New to Patrick’s music and just can’t get enough - what a talent!
INCREDIBLE
Great job on this Patrick! You are a pro.

Just fucking Epic - Patrick Sweany ! layin it down!
I don’t know why i love this song!
Great is all I can say!!!
Sounds Great..
Just fucking awesome.
My mind is filled with ghosts
They're more than most of all my loves gone wrong
My mind should be the way
Most people say that I should just move on My mind is focused on
Things past and gone when I have no control I can't forget there used to be
I used to see but now no more Think I'm living in a past life... In a past life, too,
it's a kind of thing that
Catches up to you
I guess I just believe that
It's the thing to do
So here's a little feedback
You gotta wear those shoes No one said it would be easy
Sometimes it is hard to do
It isn't like the TV
You see the cold hard truth
And the things you see in movies
Just don't come true
So here's a little feedback
You gotta wear your shoes I will live a half-life
It'll have to do
Now you can have a love life
You have loved me, too
You can see me in the evening
When the weather's cool
But here's a little feedback
You gotta wear the shoes
Good God! That's a bad ass song!
GOLD
Cool beer hall tune.....awesome
NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn luv. Get it.
Damn that was good. What feel. Super expressive and then bam threw that guitar. I was impressed and horrified.

I love how at the end Patrick is like to his guitar - 'get the fuck away from me!'
Colossal tune!!!

W❤️W
Brilliant, imagine this guy at the Grammys, they would all shit their pants.
kidynamite58 they're not ready
Fucking awsome
He plays in the black keys along with Dan Auerbach
What equipment/setup is he using? Anyone know? I’m trying to emulate his sound. Got a tele, in the neck pickup position (stock pickups?) with a vox ac 15 (w/tremolo, gain, reverb). I think he rolls off some of the top end so its got that clean, soft, but raunchy sound. Does he use any pedals? I don’t know. I’m using an exciter of sorts to try and get some of that top end sparkle but i can never get the distortion on the amp quite right. Top boost channel i think. But mine always sounds either too muddy or too weak. His is just so satisfying when he hits that one chord at the end of the phrase
EDIT: maybe he uses a fuzz pedal? Plz help
Loved everything except the end.....why oh why would you do that to such a beautiful Tele!!!!!!!
Pandora led me to his music through a Radiohead station, love this song!
I was on a black keys station!!
heard this on Pandora. this tune rips... figures i always catch on late.. love the sound.. and energy.. the live version is kinda awesome soundwise.. ive seen plenty of vids of greater known musicians ..that disappointed me in live sound... who cant keep the seemily clear sound of a studio recorded piece.. i guess the key is dont record with a dumb audience present... lok
👓🎞💪
Just found out about this dude! Awesome stuff.
Poor guitar at the end though :/
Fuck Ya!
Shred
!
telecaster > all
Holllyy shittt.
Hawt
I read somewhere Dan Auerbach is helping to produce his music, not sure if that's true or not
Man, this song kills, but I sure wish he would rip it on lead with some heavy distortion on the fast part of the song!
Shiner Bock brought me here.
dammit!! if you don't like that guitar then give it to me, but don't ruin it! Anyway, great performance :)
I was brought here through Highly Suspect on pandora
Pandora brought me here
Punk blues. I wonaaa a pizza.😎😎😎😎
Come back to Blaine Brook bowl
songs better at a lower tempo but this is still hawt
Shout out to the lefty drummer
I was sure I'd see him playing a shit-hot Supro. Maybe on the record?
Gonna end up a big old pile of them shoes
Love the song, but I didnt expect to see a used car salesman playing and singing it.. lol
Man, take those finger picks off, and learn to rip! Cool riff, no cool rips!
Just.Fuckin.Good.
