I realized after I got done I forgot to carry on about the lions found with red launching buttons. I’ll have to do a part 3 anyway for the weapons/accessories, so I’ll get the red launcher buttons in that video.
Was watching your videos because my Dad been wanting an old Voltron like he used to have your videos where extremely helpful on what I need to been looking for. Thanks a ton 👍🏻
Thank you so much! I wish I could make more but UA-cam blocked me from adding more videos because I didn’t have enough subscribers during their grandfather period. So now I just have to wait for more subscribers or start a new channel.
chogokin chogokin You are referring to the Lions5in1. I had a few but had to sell them off. And I kick myself everyday. I did a video on them luckily before I sold them, that is in my prior videos.
I'm in Taiwan right now. Any special place I can go to get discount LIONBOT complete sets? I see sellers on ebay from here but wondering if there's a Voltron Mecca somewhere.... ehehehe
I keep hearing about the metal Voltrons. My father tells me there was a metal version. Other ppl tell me stories about one as well. I don’t seem to find that version. Any truth to it?
All of the Lionbots in this video are metal. The term Chogokin describes the die-cast metal giant robot toys from Japan in the 80’s and other die cast toys from that period.
@@leekhan8948 sorry for the late response- that's correct! It just means die-cast, basically. The old lionbot, MATCHBOX voltron III, and golions; all are chogokin. As are several other Japanese robot toys.
killerpitdbo I think randomly the v-crest set and/or diamond belt set had chrome tails on blue lion. It’s just another one of Diecast Metals variants or even part mixups done there. Besides the current/standard Lionbots, i’ve never seen the older ones really consistent. And that can even be to prior set owners mixing sets up or replacing lions or parts.
Matthew Trotter Best to search eBay or you can order a set from direct from Taiwan at: ebay.com/usr/animetropolis. His name is Jason. He moved there from the US to deal toys. He deals directly with the factory that makes Lionbots, and can sell you just the red and green lions. You’ll have to buy the whole lion though as he won’t just sell the heads.
Well the older ones are a better quality overall, but the current Lionbot versions are also a quality toy. The older ones just have better paint applications usually nicer chrome, and more diecast on the black lion. But the current Taiwan version is a nice toy if you’re just wanting to get one at a good price.
like your video, but i am not used to so many words...i dont want to sound stupid, i did put it on 2X speed and it helped. usually if someone has trouble with too many words, they cant handle 2X speed.

Infinite Godaikin /Brent Part 3 woohoo 🙌
Nothing better than watching Voltron/Lionbot videos! Thanks for giving your time on explaining variants.

Still enjoying your videos Brent! Great information!! Hope you’re doing good!
Great video. Just came across your channel.
This was so helpful.... where can one buy a modern lionbot? do you know?
Yuppp let's goooo! Shout out Heath
Is lionbot a blackmarket version of the matchbox version? Were they both marketed in the US?
Awesome video! Will you be touching on the current bootlegs sold online and their quality?
Do you have the v belt with the long necks on the yellow and blue lions?

Hi. Have you encountered an instance where the blue lion is somehow shorter than the yellow lion?

@@Captain_Maberu so if it is diecast metal it is a chogoku? Even the ones marketed as lionbot?

I just picked up a v belt with the legs that the heads come off. I heard they call it the extended neck variation
What is throwing me off is that chrome tail on the blue lion on diamond belt.

I’m missing the hands on a vintage. Where can I find them?
The original Diecast.

I do have two Lionbot Blue Lions with a red launch instead of yellow.
weprin2 I know. I realized I forgot to talk about the red launchers too, in Diecast Metal’s Lionbot stew.
I wish I cos show you my voltron...upside down star belt blue lion has silver tail..I need help
Yes I can help. No problem. Contact me on Instagram. I’m on now and can help if needed. Same name for search.

Very informative
Ever notice how the Black lion's ears don't want to extend out all the way in Voltron form.
