Hi Tim, thanks for the review. Surprisingly, none of the major watch blogs have reviewed this watch yet. I'm not sure why. But I'm sure all watch lovers appreciate your work here.
I prefer the 30min chrono. I always forget to stop my 12hr. watches. They may be in the safe running as we speak for all I know. I do wish this watch had more contrasting hands. I have such trouble reading skeleton dials. Tremendous review !
I love this model line, but the solid-dial variant would be my choice for exactly the reason that you state. It may be the most traditional - which I like - and lacks the visual spectacle of the open dial, but it feels more tightly bound to Zenith's history and unarguably is more useful as a timepiece. Best, Tim
Kind of wish they'd done this with the partial open dial look on some of the chronomasters. I like those but the fully skeletonised look is tricky to read in a hurry
Amazing review TIM.. one question, when You reset chrono in the end of the video at 8:21 I did notice that second hand (counter at 6 o’clock) did not back to 0 position.. so second hand is not lined up.. is that a comon problem with this EL PRIMERO 21?becsuse I did notice same issue with same model at boutique.. thanks and regards Dawid
Alex Loon my is sorted.. 2 weeks in manufacture and works perfect.. also they give me rubber strap for free as apologise for inconvinience.. call ZENITH they will sort it quickly
Deyfy lol. Say as if you are you are about to defy someone. Sometimes you try to sound too french/swiss lol. Great review as always though :) I saw this in a store. Trading in my huge Annual calendar Pilot Montre Aeroneuf for this piece.
Truly, it is. Considering that people are paying $10,000 over list price for a steel/ceramic Daytona, I'd take this Zenith any day as far more watch for less money. Best, Tim
You and me, both! I'd probably opt for the solid-dial version because I'm a traditionalist, but this is one of Zenith's recent best in any form. Best, Tim

Thanks, Random, I appreciate these kind thoughts. Perhaps the others are at a loss for words ;-)

Coolest El Primero out there!
It's definitely top-three and possibly #1; the 1990s Rainbow flyback is pretty slick, and the Charles Vermot tourbillon was epic in 2011.

Tim

How big is your wrist?
I log on again
You pronounce "defy" differently. Does it not mean the usual meaning?
At least I didn't call it a TAG or Hublot!
Best,
Tim
Sorry, I meant the whole pronunciation.
That's so nice ❤️❤️
