I know the video hasn't premiered yet but Nouveau did the mod on this elevator. One of my friend's relatives works for Nouveau and he was involved in this modernization. If I remember correctly Nouveau used Galaxy equipment on this mod. Really nice I got to say and definitely much needed.
Ah yes... Macy's at Cross Country Shopping Center in Yonkers, NY. The sister store to Green Acres (which ALSO happened to opened as a Gimbels in 1956!)
Those two stores are very similar, except for their history (Yonkers was Stern’s between Gimbel’s and Macy’s, Valley Stream was Abraham & Straus) and Yonkers’ expansion and recent renovation.
This is actually a Claddagh mod, which is an elevator company based in Long Island City, NY However, Nouveau did the mod installation. I believe this elevator was actually completely replaced (including the cab itself). My uncle worked on this project and he told me all about it. And I don’t remember this elevator having recessed lighting. Did it have that before its first mod?
That’s a nice elevator! Do you know what this modded? My Macy’s just has a Schindler MT with a loud motor. Also I love how it says Macy on the floor passing indicator
Oh! You could be thinking of the Galleria @ White Plains! Yes that Macy*s closed down but Cross County is still open. This is one of their bigger/busier stores in Westchester so it would be foolhardy for them to close this place. The only place that closed here was Sears.

The elevator voice as of 2/10/22 for this posted comment is now buggy. "Doors Closing, Please stand..."
Macy's must be on a modernization spree, a bunch of the elevators at their South Florida stores have also been modded/replaced recently.
Nice thumbnail

recessed lighting is very nice.
It actually says Macy's on the indicator? Interesting.
They did a great job!
I have heard that door voice on an old elevator.
It comes from the door sensors, not the controller. Notice how it didn’t announce the floor. That voice can be on any elevator that gets new sensors.
This looks just like the newer elevators at NCC

I actually worked for Claddagh over one summer. I’m glad to have finally ridden something they were involved with

The elevator had already gone through a mod before this. Look this elevator up. Many people have filmed it before this. Trust me, it needed this mod.
i would guarantee its nouveau cohens and lij use them and by the sensors too
This is a link to a very old CVE9120 video on what this elevator used to look like: ua-cam.com/video/ffv7oVhZyMw/v-deo.html
What is the voice saying it's low and it goes too fast?
“Doors opening. OK to enter.” “Doors closing. Please stand clear.”
I thought this macys closed down.
Nope. Macy’s actually likes this store. It got an expansion in 2011-2012 and a decent renovation recently.
