These slow-speed chases by LAPD are an embarrassment to law enforcement. They have 30 cop cars in pursuit, yet the dirtbag is still able to stop and swap cars? Maybe he could stop at In-And-Out Burger for a bite to eat. They really need to watch all the videos from Arkansas to learn how to bring a chase to an end. Since they are not willing to use the PIT maneuver or box them in, LAPD should invest in The Grappler, which Phoenix PD has been using for some time. That works nicely at these low speeds.

When the LAPD are involved, you know the pursuit is going to be a laughable display of incompetence, and a massive waste of resources, and time. Not to mention a huge waste of taxpayers' money.
Having watched literally hundreds of these pursuits all over the US - it's clear that most other police depts would have wound this up at the first opportunity. The LAPD seems incapable of making decisions. Perhaps they are trying to bore everyone to death. Or maybe the police get a thrill out of being on TV. "Look honey I'm on TV - that's me in the 14th pursuit vehicle".
The longer these pursuits are allowed to drag out, the greater the risk to the public - that's a statistical fact. People are far more likely to make mistakes and errors in judgement when tired.
Clearly, the LAPD needs some new decisive leadership.
Even in the first 15 minutes of this video, there were numerous opportunities for the suspect to be apprehended. This a farce - it reminds me of those old keystone cops comedies.

I think the reporters could've said more details stuff but instead they repeated themselves a lot. For example with the cop cars count or the speed. I don't need to be told 7 times that 6 cop cars are behind him, not do I need to constantly know the speed he is driving with (because there is also an speedometer) etc.
