Exactly the advice I was looking for, got pretty wore out yesterday with my poor technique on a long uphill! thanks for the help.
Showing my nephew that I was in the cross country skiing club in middle school… told him the coach and others were up ahead and I went and slid into a huge hole and couldn’t get out😂 no one knew, but I eventually climbed out😂 scary experience
Nice clear and concise instruction!
Great video. Thanks!
Is this the same speaker as in minute physics??
I was thinking the same thing. Voice sounds exactly the same!
cool thx ill keep this in mind
You made it sound like there was another technique to be more efficient on these terrains. Is there? I’ve been crosscountry skiing for over 30 years now lol if there’s another way please let me know! She looked like she had a really good pace going, and I’m still working on my technique to this day. Getting faster in my older age haha
The skier's stride needs to be shortened to allow for a complete weight transfer commitment. This will eliminate the slapping noise you can hear resulting from her glide ski slapping behind the set ski. A committed drive of the glide ski will result in carrying more momentum forward. Sorry to be a pain, but I went through the same instructions from the Norwegian national team coach.
Thanks! I watched this video yesterday in preparation for my first time skiing today. I came back to the video to try and understand why my left ski was “slapping” behind me, appreciate your comment!
Beautiful scenery. I'd like to hear how one avoids the 'slap' of the ski behind you in classic stride, which I hear is the sign of bad technique.
Great video keep ist up
