Insight is an American religious-themed weekly anthology series that aired in syndication from October 1960 to 1983. Produced by Paulist Productions in Los Angeles, the series presented half-hour dramas illuminating the contemporary search for meaning, freedom, and love. Insight was an anthology series, using an eclectic set of story telling forms including comedy, melodrama, and fantasy to explore moral dilemmas. The series was created by Fr. Ellwood E. "Bud" Kieser, the founder of Paulist Productions.
The anthology format and the religious nature of the program attracted a wide variety of actors, including Ed Asner, Jack Albertson, Beau Bridges, Carol Burnett, Ron Howard, Cindy Williams, Patty Duke, Ann Jillian, Cicely Tyson, James Doohan, Jack Klugman, Walter Matthau, Bob Newhart, Bill Bixby, John Ritter, Mark Hamill, Laura Dern, Barbara Hersey, Flip Wilson, and Martin Sheen.
The Addams Family is a bona fide classic, but I've always thought it was tragic that John Astin wasn't more widely recognized for his Insight performances, some of which were Emmy material. Patty Duke always brought her "A" game to this program as well.

Thank you so very much for this. I fondly remembered this show from when I first saw it in 1974, probably its first run, and always wanted to see it again. Now, 45 or 46 years later, I have. You truly have no idea how much this thrills me - and then to know there are so many more of these wonderful shows to watch. Again, Thanks!

John Astin and Patty Duke were both fine actors. She won an AA for portraying a woman named Hellen Keller in "The Miracle Worker".
John astin gave some of his best performances on insight, in another he played Martin sheens brother
I like John Astin and all, but how the heck did he get a little hottie like Patty Duke (real life wife)?
Also funny seeing "Drum" of all books prominently displayed on the racks at the end
