Also something to add. The higher the percentage of achoal the more dangerous it is to paint. I use a 99 % to strip paint off of mostly everything lol. I would recommend staying with the 70% percent for a cars clear coat. And would not let it sit. Great video as always!:-)
As a detailer, 70% is way too high, even 50% will damage plastic and clear coats. If you have a 70%, you want to dilute it down to roughly 17% where the rest is distilled water. Sure it won’t remove it as fast, but it also won’t damage clear coat. IPA spray like this is common for removing wax and sealants. The way to use it is spray and wipe away immediately, or better to spray on an applicator and wipe away with a clean microfiber.
I know I'm a bit late to the game, but Thank you! I was about to try some 90% ISO on my brand new Maverick and I would have been weeping for days if I stripped the paint off. It's already a pretty thin coat.
Try water as hot as your hand can stand it on a rag, also they make plastic razor blades. The boiling hot water softens the sap and the blade gets it all off.
Meguiar's told me to use 90% alcohol while I see you used 70%. Also, don't rub hard. Let it sit for no more than 5 minutes to penetrate. If it keeps drying add more to it and to your towel. Do not, let it dry. Wash and wax after removal.
You had me at _baked on for years_ 😂! You clearly understand my plight! But have you found anything better since you did this video for the seriously hardcore baked on sap? Some of the spots have eaten right through my paint's clear coat and you can see the drip mark.
I got malco sap, looks promosing, getting ready to use it. Downside is you need ti find a distributor to get it and can knly get it by the gallon. I know this isnt really all that helpful being i cant say whether or not it worked but ill keep you posted if interested. Also says safe in paint
You scratched the paint removing it? Then, what's the point? The point in getting stuff off of paint is to do it without damaging it further. Now, you have to fix the scratches? have fun with that. 3m specialty adhesive remover works great. It does take some time to let it loosen it up. A plastic razor blade does wonders, too.
@@stevejette2329 I tried Goo Gone the other day . . . on one of MANY old dry Douglas Fir spots and got NO results. I did not wash first, however. Just wanted to see if it would work. I'd love to find something that works as I'd like to get my car looking good enuf to sell.

Tree is too old and huge and close to 2 houses to remove - - would cost a fortune. No! By far and away the best way to remove Tree sap is to use a couple of teaspoons of Sodium Bicarbonate in a cup of water with micro fibre cloth after washing car then rinse off. It costs next to nothing and works like magic!!! Try it. It won't damage your paintwork in any way

What works very well is to use a light hand clay sponge and a hi quality detail spray.
Like my custom made Bomb detail spray.
It worx 100 %.

I think you should make a 50/50 solution with the alcohol.then wash it again and rewax since the alcohol stripped everything off the paint.

olive oil works best let sit for 30 minutes and use microfiber cloth to remove.
