I’m a Snap On dealer around New Orleans LA. I like to do the same style tests in my truck. Note that next time it may work out better for you to place the bolt head in the vice and torque and impact on the nut. This way there is no chance for the nut to be “crushed”, or “pressed” causing extra torque tension on the nut and bolt shaft. Which is very easy to do accidentally. That way it’s closer to “Real World” testing. No knock here, great video and good test!
Very cool video Diabolical can't wait for my 861 to come in. I have to agree with everyone that wilton stole the show, she's beautiful great job on the restoration.
That is amazing, I was just thinking "I wish there was a video out with more info and testing so I can see if its worth the upgrade." a couple of days ago. Awesome timing, great videos!
@Diabolical58 good stuff my brother!. I don’t have the CT761. Just got the CT861 (before anybody in America) like you did ; ) 😂 Anyways.. Appreciate the comparison here! Any info , is good info. Especially if on video. Hope to talk soon my man 🙌🏻. 💯
I’d bet the difference between these 2 would be much smaller if they were both new, that’s kinda the selling point of a brushless tool is that well they don’t have brushes therefore the power loss of the tool won’t be anything significant compared to a brushed tool, not to mention the ct861 got larger, it’s a good tool if you can find it used with a battery and charger for the price snap on sells just the gun, the fact is their competitors are making smaller more powerful tools with way more versatile in the power setting’s and battery selection at a better price, now I’m all for spending the extra money if it had the snap on lifetime warranty but it doesn’t it’s 1 year? Like come on that’s just not a fair deal anymore at 650-750$ for the tool and one battery and charger? People sell them tool battery and charger for like 300$ that’s the route I’d recommend going if you have to have this tool.
I did the same style test you’re doing I bought a brand new CT861, with two new batteries and was able to break 181 foot lbs with it using a 16MM nut and bolt way over the 150 FtLbs snap-on claims but I clamped the head of the bolt in the vice and not the nut
The 150 they claim is working torque not breakaway. The breakaway torque is like 225 I just bought one last week. It's not putting out 225 of breakaway BTW so it is underspec.
I think the test results would have been more accurate if you used a brand new 761, I don’t know this for a fact but I’m sure they get less effective over time.
@@Diabolical58 yes I’m aware. I’ve had all the snapon impacts and pretty much gave them back. Except the 1/2. Went with the dewalt 3/8!extreme and the mid torque dewalt.

It started to do better as time went on because the bolt was getting hotter

Great Video! I like the testing method you used. That Wilton Vise is Awesome! Great Job on that as well!!

Great compact impact and beautiful vise
Just picked one up last week and finally had the chance to use it . Still trying to get use to that delay on the trigger .
Congrats. Thanks for watching
is it that noticeable? i’ve never had a snapon cordless impact before i use the m12 stubby
Thanks. Looking forward to my brushless to take a shit to up grade. But my brushed impact kicks ass. For now.
Good job From Dino Mares Fontana CA Snap on pink tools 🔧
Great job on this.
Man, that is a beautiful Wilton.
Thanks. Bought it for 20.00 before I restored it. Came from Camp Pendleton over 50 years ago
Yes that's a sweet looking vice and a hell of a deal.
Forget that CT861, that Wilton is star of the show here. 😂🤘
Thank you
Great video Jon. I like the real world test... 😁👍

Good show Jon 👍👍👍
I had the pleasure of using the 861 last week nice compact gun are you going to make a follow up video to the horrible freight box
I have part of it filmed. It’s not going to be real great to be honest. May not even post it
@@Diabolical58 it's always good to be honest and that's all the reason to post it
@@paulmendenhall5226 I edited that. It’s not great I meant. Sorry
Impressive little gun. Great video
Thanks for watching
The new brushless is back ordered till may for me

CT861は日本で販売されていません。CT861は力がありそうですね。日本で販売される日が楽しみです。
فديو جميل وشيق. اين أجد هذه الأجهزة وكم ثمنها
I have both and the Milwaukee 3/8 stubby, the Milwaukee is leaps and bounds stronger
Wish snapon would have bumped the new up to 200 foot pounds..will not be buying one
I mean it’s not the only 3/8 impact they offer. They do have the one that is 240
@@Diabolical58 yes I’m aware. I’ve had all the snapon impacts and pretty much gave them back. Except the 1/2. Went with the dewalt 3/8!extreme and the mid torque dewalt.
180 and up you need a m18
Sorry to say for the price the Milwaukee m12 Impact will blow this out the water. More power, better warranty, and cheaper
