"If you start to smell burning toast, you're having a stroke or overcooking your toast." One of my favourite lines of his, especially in the context of the rest of that chorus.
Bo is in a movie called "A Promising Young Woman" and is an absolutely phenomenal actor in it. Be warned though, while it is excellent it is quite an emotional and distressing movie
Yay! This a great one. It’s near the beginning of INSIDE and is basically his ‘thesis’ for the rest of the special. Loving your Bo reactions!!! Keep ‘em comin! Cheers
Unless you take it as making a difference through the use of metaphor (aka storytelling and writing). Then it kinda does make a real difference. I love that this line is multifaceted in that way.
Great video! Love the suggestions. Every one is on it in the comments. Kanye rant and 5 years are musts for me. Please keep doing Bo. He's such a genius and love your reactions
You can even follow his thought process behind making this First thought: "Something terrible is happening in the world. Maybe there's something I can do through my craft as a comedian to lift people up a bit and help them through this difficult time." Second thought: "Oh my god, what an arrogant and self-indulgent thing to think. As if anyone cares what I have to say right now. Now I need to write a song purely to mock myself for even thinking something like that."
8:10 being a 90s kid, I've lived through one of the weirdest changes - nowadays getting to something is so... easy but all of it is through a storefront. before the internet, you had to surround yourself with the funny people if you wanted jokes, so you formed a community and you did things together - now there's so much "content" and we just buy a screen and buy the content and sit in our homes... I'm not saying it's only bad but as people we've lost this communal drive to socialise and I don't buy that separately from this development, a huge margin of the population has gotten to have social anxiety and the likes... it's 100% connected, wether it be the depths increasing because lack of interaction - because there is no need for it in todays society...
8:19 "I hope that made sense, in my brain it did." OMG 🙈I swear, I'm clipping this from your video and saving it forever on my home screen for easy accessibility, because it really ought to be added to the end of all my communication attempts 😂 I may be forced to transform you into a gif for my own personal use due to how relatable this is 🤣🩷
@BrittReacts Im loving your Bo reaction videos, may i suggest an artist named Tim Minchem. He does standup and music just like Bo. I believe you would love Storm by Tim Michem.
I think nobody does cynicism better. Bo is so self aware! But if we were to honor his wishes we wouldn't make it about him, and stick to the points he's making so... White savior syndrome = a thing, and we should probably just (in general) listen more. Actually, you could probably copy and paste that on society as a whole, hearing other people is a good thing.
Here cuz I wanna see you react to can't handle this. I want you to see bo in his first 8 years from 2007-2015. He relaunched his career in 2020. Side note- Bo is very serious about his content and he doesn't make things easy. You have to block out or mostly block out the video. It's okay we have all seen the video
This probably not a first time hearing bo, as she says the same thing in other bo videos ‘ bo burnham….did i say that right??’ Like she dont know. Its a common gimmick used to act like its your first time hearing someone
i think this is at the same time a song about doing what you can to help people, and the fact that it seems that white people have hijacked the movement to help coloured people and getting social points for it
I like your thought that "Music is life to melody." Comedy can be too. But, whether music or comedy, I'm tired of hearing more and more artistic efforts utilizing vulgar expressions. Not the kind of "life" that I want presented to me as part of the entertainment. My comment is not criticizing creativity, but it is lamenting this trend of public inconsideration. First time hearing Burnham, and I'm disappointed. So many other comedians, singers, rappers haven't a thought to the foul language they casually use or that some purposely use. It's not cool; it's ugly. It may be real in their lives, but offers little respect. If they truly want what they offer to be good for the world, they should be blessing ears and souls, not adding to a trend that is disgusting.
Language is expression. Censoring language merely because you believe it to be vulgar would be wrong. Whether it’s for a meaningful insight or just because people like certain words it’s just as valid for them to use that type of language as it is for you to not use it. There’s a difference between banning hate speech and vulgarity of slurs but swearing, cursing, discussing bodies and sex and anything else you might think is vulgar is allowing personal expression. Even if you don’t like that type of expression it’s still people’s right to use it if they feel like it.
@@hiimsky4381 Of course it's their right. But it is not wrong to ask people to consider the real impact it's having on civility. I have a voice, too, and sometimes I feel like I have to speak up. Too many of us are desensitized to all this cursing. Like the frog put into a big pot of cool water on the stove. He may be swimming around, but doesn't realize the heat has been turned on real low under the pot, and little by little the water heats up, and and the heat is turned up even more. It's so incremental, that he gets used to it. Doesn't even realize he's being cooked. Sorry for the weird example, but my point is that some are oblivious to the changing environment around them and the danger. I just felt it right to ribbet an alert to others before I jumped out of the pot. P.S.: Nothing to do with our interchange, but I love what you used for your profile pic. That sweet Boston puppers is adorable.
Making a literal difference metaphorically!! 🙃
When i introduce people to Bo i refer to it as "entertainment" instead of "comedy" . He really is unique
"If you start to smell burning toast, you're having a stroke or overcooking your toast."
One of my favourite lines of his, especially in the context of the rest of that chorus.
Having had multiple strokes, I did not smell burning toast, but I am actively scared of burnt smells.
This song has lived rent free in my head since "Inside" came out. One of my favorites of his for sure.
that light is... fore.Bo'ding...
Came about 8 months late to let you know your pun has not gone unrecognized, well played
Lmao
I recommend just sitting down and watching all of his special Inside. It really is an incredible experience.
Bo Burnham sounds like he should sing for Disney film princes 🤣
People were outraged because the Grammys decided that this album didn’t qualify for “best comedy album”
Bo is in a movie called "A Promising Young Woman" and is an absolutely phenomenal actor in it. Be warned though, while it is excellent it is quite an emotional and distressing movie
His character switch was phenomenal 👏👏👏
Bo Burnham- Cant handle this/Kanye rant….
Game changer
This MUST be watched before All Eyes On Me. Puts it in perspective
I'll watch any Bo reaction. 👍
Life has a soundtrack. Made perfect sense
Now you need to react to the final song from the special, "Goodbye".
Your reaction is super wholesome and on point.
Yay! This a great one. It’s near the beginning of INSIDE and is basically his ‘thesis’ for the rest of the special.
Loving your Bo reactions!!!
Keep ‘em comin!
Cheers
7:48 i took it as "making a difference" like "getting paid"
Woot, more Bo! ☕🥰🇺🇸
Just in time for breakfast too.
[Solo]
Your reaction + Bo = cathartic
I love this song, but your reaction made me smile ear to ear, just something about seeing someone react to someone else so positive, made my day.
A metaphorically literal difference is literally not a difference
Literally
Unless you take it as making a difference through the use of metaphor (aka storytelling and writing). Then it kinda does make a real difference. I love that this line is multifaceted in that way.
@@MeganTheLibrarian3 I totally agree but I do think he was going for the impostor syndrome read
@Adam Feldman knowing Bo, he was going for all angles simultaneously
Great video! Love the suggestions. Every one is on it in the comments. Kanye rant and 5 years are musts for me. Please keep doing Bo. He's such a genius and love your reactions
Thank you for this reaction. Lotta Bo is out there. Art Is Dead is another song of his worth reacting to (among others).
Second. Art is dead is one of my favorite from him
Art is Dead is a good companion piece to this one as both showed some of his insecurities with his role as an entertainer
Love your reactions! ❤️
Thank you!! 😁

Bo Burnham isn't a comedian. He's a philosopher that happens to be funny.
Great reaction! Could you do “All eyes on me” from Inside? Then you’ll have hit all the best songs from that special.
I really enjoy your channel! Would you please do 5 years by Bo Burnham? I think you'd really enjoy it
Philosophy has become the true philosophy.
Left Brain Right Brain- Bo
you were completely moved and tried to hide it, dont worry about what ppl may think, we r all BB fans here..."Goodbye"by bo should b next!
Yes, you are okay.👌Not a doctor. It's easier to put thoughts together on this side of UA-cam.
A total efing genius!
Bo = Steve Martin + Robin Williams + George Carlin.
very cool, way to go!
You can't go wrong with Bo's content but for a change up I would recommend "Art is Dead", "Are you Happy?", "I don't wanna know" or "Unpaid Intern"
8:19 "I hope that made sense, in my brain it did." OMG 🙈I swear, I'm clipping this from your video and saving it forever on my home screen for easy accessibility, because it really ought to be added to the end of all my communication attempts 😂

Check out Stephen Lynch lmao! Some of his songs will offend people but it's funny as hell, listen to it before doing a video 🤣 🤣
@BrittReacts Im loving your Bo reaction videos, may i suggest an artist named Tim Minchem. He does standup and music just like Bo. I believe you would love Storm by Tim Michem.
The original is just one bo not 4 haha. Love the reaction!
Do problematic from him (with video)
love the reaction, but you should water your plant...

Iirc its netflix thats serious about the content, Bo himself is pretty chill about that stuff but unfortunately he doesnt get final say anymore
Finally someone who Is pro socialism like Bo.
This probably not a first time hearing bo, as she says the same thing in other bo videos ‘ bo burnham….did i say that right??’ Like she dont know. Its a common gimmick used to act like its your first time hearing someone

Have you reacted to Josh Blue - I've seen him in person, he's a hilarious comedian! You should check him out 🙏
Very few appreciate him
I don't read that voice as god, I think it's the internet
Have you done that funny feeling I’m commenting blindly I’ll look after this
I don't think of Bo as a comedian. He is a philosopher who happens to be funny.
The very fact that you unironically made a reaction video to a bo burnham vid is a pretty good indication that you shouldn’t be watching them.
