Dude since making this tutorial I have been messing around with the 3D camera a lot more, and I realized this video just barely scratched the surface! I gotta make another one haha
Hello, Dylan. I love your videos. I noticed that in your video on "Motion 5 3D Camera Techniques," you created a drawing with the mouse pointer. Could you please tell me what you used to do that? I really appreciate it.
How do you reverse-dolly? Or reverse-zoom? I have a film clip where I want to start in ECU and END UP where the film clip is naturally (100%). I can't seem to find anything that will easily do that, other than to manually key frame the transform tool.
Hey Dylan , I appreciate your content. I do have some feedback for my favorite motion/fcp UA-camr though. Highlighting comments that inspired this video is a really good way to foster communicate however, I think showing the result of the tutorial in the first ten seconds will not only increase retention but also be a better way to format your videos. That’s what I would like to see anyway. Love your content bro
Hey Brandon, always appreciate feedback! But you will notice this video is over a year old haha! My methods of teaching have vastly improved and you will notice every one of my videos showcases the effect as quickly as possible. But I do appreciate the genuine constructive criticism! These comments are the type of comments that help the channel grow to be even better. So thank you!
Why would you change the viewpoint of the camera? Because the viewpoint is where the camera will rotate. Do you want the camera to rotate to pan across (Viewpoint mode) or do you want the view from the camera (Framing mode) to pan? Have your object at that framing point and do a nice orbiting around the object in Framing mode. Scan a scene in Viewpoint mode. But, if the object is some distance away, you can always link the rotation to the distant object in either Framing or Viewpoint mode. Also, 'focus plane' is the camera's depth of field. Change the depth of field to, for example, throw the background into soft focus.
Dos anyone know what one is doing wrong when you can't drag the image to the well. I can't apply the camera to the image! What is the order of doing things?
Hey Dylan, awesome explainer video and thanks very much for sharing. How would you animate a 3D camera in Motion orbiting around a map? In After Effects, I'd create a null-parented camera and orbital null and simply tilt the X axis of the null 30º and animate the Z rotation axis of the null's orientation. I can't figure out how to do that in Motion. Thanks again for sharing, 😀
Motion doesn't have a 3D tracker unfortunately. But MotionVFX does have an excellent 3D tracker! It's on the pricey side, but if you do a lot of tracking and want to break free of the Adobe ecosystem, it's well worth it! Indeed they did. It was a great acquisition back in the day, but is definitely starting to show its age more and more! Hope they come with some major updates at some point soon.
@@TheFinalCutBro It was great for Apple, but they completely squandered Shake. Motion for the price is cool, but compared to AE I think it’s not even comparable. Not trying to diss Motion, but Shake was amazing, it was comparable to Nuke and Fusion. They could’ve kept Shake alive along side Motion in my opinion.

Dope! We're friends for life now! Haha.. Seriously, thanks bro! I appreciate you taking the time to make this video.
Friends for life my dude!
Love the editing on this video!
Thanks so much! Such a big compliment 👊
Thanks so much. This is exactly I've been looking for!
I been looking for the Hitchcock effect, you’re the best bro thanks, don’t know how I wasn’t subbed 🥂😎
A inspiring tutorial. Thank you!
Thank you so much for posting this content. I just got Motion, and am learning it with your tutorials. Keep up the good work Dylan!!!
Thanks for the video!
Otro excelente video... muchas gracias amigo.
Gracias!!
So dope man. Thanks so much for making this. Now I just have to apply the knowledge!

Very informative - thanks for sharing! Looking forward to checking out your other tutorials! :-)
So glad! Thank you Cynthia!
Awesome & Thanks :)

Thanks a lot! Please, do the same with Lights.
Absolutely! 💡

Many thanks for the tutorial, can we track 3D camera and link with objects/layers like in Ae?

@@TheFinalCutBro Thanks for the information.bro much appreciated.
can you track camera to put text ??
Final cut BRO xD 😂😅😅😊😅😂😂
Apple bought Shake to give us this, 🤔.
