My wife and kids came to Panorama over 10 years ago and after our first day, we knew this was the place for us. You hit off many of the positives, no lines, great groomers, great accommodations, fantastic people and family/group friendly. So good, we bought a place in Invermere to enjoy all the area has to offer during all seasons! Great video!
@@riseandalpine Well if you ever come back with your friends, I can hook you up with a great place to stay and share more of the great things that Invermere has to offer (yes that Fried Chicken is awesome)! There is a free shuttle to Panorama 100m from our front door. Invermere really is a hidden gem.
Killing it with the Mountain reviews and guides! Perfect off season content! Keep'em coming! (Also can you make a playlist of these on your channel page so they're easier to find?)
Totally thought I had my channel playlists organized better. I went ahead and organized everything into Reviews, Videos of first time mountain visits, Backcountry Skiing... Thanks for the advice to that.
Such a great resort. Was told to skip it as it’s known as “icearama” or something but no no no. Was still getting fresh turns under summit chair at 3pm. Possibly the best tree skiing for an intermediate with the pitch and clearing they do. Then a massive long run home out the back to knock you out. All the locals super friendly also on the chairs telling us where to head all day
I’ve been riding here for a long time with many days every season - this review is the most objective I have seen. Love this mountain and resort - get ready to carve if there hasn’t been new snow and if there has been get ready to be tired. Always fun!
Nice one James and couldn't agree more. As an aged intermediate snowboarder who spends most of the time on the groomers, Panorama was absolutely friggin incredible.
I taught my twin boys to ski at Panorama aged 8. There is a jump from the very lower slopes to steep intermediate as explained in the video. Late afternoons when they were done, I would ski the seeming endless groomers ... Another spot on review ...
Those afternoon groomer laps when the sun warmed up the snow were the dream! Sick you taught your boys to ski there, Pano will make them good confident skiers fast
We started taking the family to Pano on annual trips a few years ago, and it quickly became a favourite. The ski in/ski out lodging is great, a rarity on the eastern side of the rockies. Tons of variety in the terrain, something for everyone. And the vertical layout of the chairs means you're never too far away from the rest of your group. It's usually not bone chilling cold here, that said we've endured -30 days, no different from anywhere else. Only drawback is Pano seems to get less consistent pow days, but maybe that's why it's less crowded too? Your review is bang on as usual.
I'm glad your family has made Pano a regular on the hit list. Definitely the perfect overall experience for a ski vacation! Lack of snow plays a part in how quiet it is and maybe location as well? I ain't complaining. More fall line for me :)
Great review! I was there last year and I agree with all your points. Trying to do a Dads and Lads trip out there this season so I’m going to pass this review on
Panorama was where I finally figured out how to carve on my snowboard when I went for winter break once as a kid. I’m super rusty now but thinking of getting back on the slopes, this time on skis so I can get into ski touring!
Pano is one of our GoTo resorts for a family trip, my kids have been growing up and progressing for the last several years.... We hit it on a 2ft day(3ft week) this past spring and the "best days of your life" was for sure true.... My daughter was able to ski her first double black pow run this year!!!
Never been, but what looked to be my favourite of the 4 B.C. Rockies mountain resorts advertised in the mid 80s I mentioned in your Fernie review. I believe it was 1st started by Intrawest; (the company that I believe 1st developed Blackcomb) and opened with at least 3,800' vertical. They both have become even bigger and better since. To me it's one of the most fascinating downhill ski areas. Thanks for posting!
Went over Christmas. Was in really good shape. Not enough snow but could still find decent runs. Was there several years ago and was icy. Not much fun especially when you see the cost of a lift ticket. But good vibes.
Re Panorama, have a ski pass. Good report. You are correct the groomers are the best! You didn't mention the extensive snow making capabilities of Panorama. Simply amazing! And as you said no line ups! So don't tell to many people about our secrets here at Panorama! Thanks
Great review Crusty 👏 will need to drop in here for a few days next time heading up from Fernie. Always look at it when driving past and think….we should do it.
Panorama is phenomenal. Long term expansion plan has a quad in Taynton (700m/2325' vertical) and one in the Sun Bowl (585m/1900' vertical) but that's probably years away.
Jaaaaames! I’m loving these mountain guides, keep them coming please. Maybe a WB guide later this Fall for the finale?? Were you able to ski this month??
Pano looks like it has quite a lot more green terrain than I expect from most resorts. Though I will mention that Outrider appears to be steeper than I would usually consider a green run.
Hey brother. Loving the hot sauce, stickers, and boot bag! Cant wait to get my buffs, and more stickers!! I sent you a message when 8 ordered the new buffs!! Would love to hear fr you regarding the message i sent with my latest order regarding Pano!!
Love pano when it’s not all iced out! If you’re ever planning to be back in the panorama area shoot me a message on here, my family owns a cabin at the base and we frequently let friends and family stay. We’d be happy to let you stay for free if that’s something you’d need to save some sweet money
Another great video, love your channel man!! James, where would you go in the Canadian Rockies mid-March on the Ikon pass? Good skiers- powder trees ungroomed. Coming from US? Thanks for the stoke!
You are an animal!! At this point David Goggins might as well become a fan of you. Churning out well-edited videos one after another. You gotta tell us how long it takes to do the editing of each video. (Hire an editor for your video! For longevity sake.) great work!!
If you include script writing and filming... were talking well over 14 hours. Typical ski day filming takes a whole day to film. 2 hours to reformat 360 footage and an entire 12 hours to edit, make a thumbnail & title. I ain't carrying boats and logs but I'm working as hard as possible to make this UA-cam thing work :). No where close to affording an editor. Barely getting by doing it full-time, but that would be a sweet thing to hand off one day!
@@riseandalpine that's a lot of hours. We see you working hard!! You have a very strong fan base. Not a lot of channels can say that. take it easy. i will watch every every episode!
my friend, here's the deal with the whopper: Sauce, Tomato, Onion, Pickle, Lettuce. Thats what your buying. Thats what makes it good. The meat? the bread? feh. The meat is just there to help you feel full (and it's not great at its job). The bread is just there to keep you fingers from getting saucy. The toppings make the whopper. If you don't like veggies on your burger, its going to be the most underwhelming experience you can have at a fast food restaurant that isn't McDonalds, which basically sells you a whopper but without the veggies and with an extra piece of bread, hence why the big mac is awful. But if you like all the veggies, and the sauce, well its like a delicious salad sandwich with great veggies and dressing, but crap bread and random mystery meat.
hey rise and alpine im subscribed and pano is my home hill i ski there every weekend and skip school to go there if i can im from invermere we should meet up lol
The way I see it, if you plan on skiing Panorama more than 1 day, stay at the resort. Getting to, and fro' Invermere, is a bit of a douche'. Can't say in comparison to Big White because I haven't been, but you'll get the most outta Pano if you stay on site.
Ski in Ski out at Panorama and Big White are both great. Lot's of sweet accommodations. Same goes with SilverStar and SunPeaks. The interior is really good for affordable ski in ski out ski vacations.
At $9, a Whopper is nothing to write home about, but on Whopper Wednesday, you'll get 2 for $9, and that is the best sh!t ever. No tomatoes and extra mayo. #whopperwednesday
Bro just lucked out with the single day Pano was skiable, last year...Pano is laid out similar to Tremblant. I believe it was Intrawest when it was built. Both times we were in Pano it was Pow. One when we were noobs, 2 days of snow. One when we got stranded, stayed the night hit Taynton next am. Run out is a leg killer. We certainly didn't get at as much terrain as you did, tho. Enjoy the quaint summit hut for hot chocs. Still prefer the other resorts in the area, if I'm paying, but I'd certainly ski there again on a snow day.

I agree. Pano is a quad crusher! Glad you enjoyed this review.
The Panorama is one of the few R&A videos I watched more than twice. The mountain just looks so incredibly stunning.
Thanks dude. Pano is gorgeous!
I moved to the East Koots this year. Skied Whistler 10 seasons and am looking forward to do a season at Panorama. Thanks for the tour

Add one in the Sun Bowl, sure, but keep Taynton chairless!! It's so great for snow retention!
@TKDCats312 I figured the locals wouldn't want a chair in Taynton for snow retention. I'd feel the same. Gondi to the summit would be nice though :).
