Excellent movie. Widmark was the most underrated actor of his generation.

I loved this movie, which came out five days after I was born. Now, I'm seventy years old and still enjoy it. Thank you for showing all of it and yes Please post more like this. 😀❤👍

A excellent movie & it's easy to forget what a brilliant& powerful Actor Richard Widmark was..And Cameron Mitchel was also good (from the ' High Chaparalle' series)

Samuel Fuller, a great director. I highly recommend his WW2 war film, The Big Red One, with Lee Marvin and Mark Hamill (before Star Wars).

I love Richard Widmark, but I can't help but wonder how many submarine captains ever said "Okay, put her on the bottom!" after leaving port.

Being born during WWII, and growing up during the Cold War, I've seen hundred(s) of this plot. They're just Westerns, in a different set of costumes. They kept a lot of actors, and the industry, employed and bored a million kids. Good production values, actors doing their personas, and hundreds of the subsidiaries employed.

I love Richard Widmark but it is not one of his best films.

I’ll bet you didn’t know that Samuel Fuller, best known for his war, western, and crime movies wrote and directed this doomsday thriller, did you? Neither did I, my first time coming across this movie on Cinemax many years ago, in the late 1980s. Great suspense yarn.

Sadly, this dialog would never fly today. Today, it's verboten to say a negative word about any other country and its citizens. Even if it's just kidding!! Or treating and talking to women like they were women! Radical feminism is a scurge to the fabric and cohesion of any nation!!. As a woman, I miss the sanity of the past.

During the Cold War, a scientific team refits a Japanese submarine and hires an ex-Navy officer to find a secret Chinese atomic island base and prevent a Communist plot against America that could trigger WW3.

Can understand why you would be upset by the constant commercial breaks. Used to drive me up the wall so I opted for Premium. Not expensive and definitely worth stress-free viewing.

I put adblock on my phone, back February 2024, love it. Got sick of the ads also. They had a special for first time buyers on then, got it for 38 bucks for the year. I figure it'll be way more this next go around...???
