Hey Jacob looks like old 70 doing pretty good job you did good job getting going again seem like more u try harder it’s gets sometimes u like me want it done yesterday I’m 63 years old I’m still that way lol great video hope u brad and ur family have a great Christmas take care bet shilo got a stocking up some were
Glad to see you rolling again ! Sounds like its time to find an electronic distributers and put in it and get rid of the point and condenser and solve that problem forever ! I hope you guys have a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year . Bandit
I am heavily leaning to an engine swap. The lady behind you has those two 915's. I hope one of the engines will at least turn freely. After the life of the DT414 in the 1086, I think it'd be great in a combine.
That might be a good engine swap if you can make a rear engine mount, Or maybe even the hole thing if the if the pulleys line up. As for the machines I know they haven't been moved in 10 years or more and I have no idea what she might want for one at all . She might give it to you to get rid of it or she might want a war price for it, One way to find out is to go ask. Bandit
I had casually mentioned something about the machines a couple years ago. I wanted them for their tires. She seemed happy that I could get some parts off them. But my qualm has been how to move them, One has no back half.
I'd get to talking to her about them then, If you can find a trailer that's low to the ground you can put the back end up on it and chain it down to ware it can pivit on the trailer and tow it home backwards. I done this several times and it works pretty good. Bandit
Since I am only buying them for parts, I'd be ok with that plan. I'm less worried if something breaks. And I know how wet it sits right around the combines. It has to be frozen or August.
Yeah everything wears out sooner or later, particularly stripper plates. Might as well order a set and put them in, you'll be glad you did when the head is running right and you're sailing through the corn. A guy can continue struggling pointlessly or just buy the parts and get it working right and move on. Just not worth the aggravation and wear and tear on other parts like your hydraulics and clutch. Later! OL J R :)
hey guys, was just thinking last nite, hmmm what was your greatest disappointment for 2017?? mine would have to be that Eclipse. i thought forsure it was gonna get totally dark, dark as night, then become lighter and return to full daylight, boy what a let down, with all the months of BS talk on tv and radio about it , it was almost nothing. now your turn.
Having two combines and not getting them in the same field together. Getting 10 acres of good hay rained on. Catching a field of corn stubble on fire. Some personal relationship troubles. The eclipse wasn't high on the list. It was less than spectacular, but I didn't die and it didn't break anything, so I didn't make the disappointment list.
Like an broken record, love the videos! The old IH is such a nice tractor. Did you guys get the doors back on it? Glad to see that your are running corn again!!
@@boehmfarm4276 Oh... yeah DEFINITELY need to replace those... they have steel "U" pieces that bolt onto a cast iron stripper roller?? You CAN weld beads down the length of the top of the "U" channels to make them pick better for awhile, but yeah ultimately you're better off just replacing them. Most heads you have to pull the entire roll off and put a new one on, that can be a job need a special puller and sometimes torch work to get them to turn loose. Course given the age of the vidja I'm sure you've already solved this problem long ago, but for anybody who's curious or learning... OL J R :)
Price. I have looked at them, By the time I buy a 1440/60 I have paid for the two TRs plus heads. And I still wouldn't have a head for the IH. I have two fence row 915s close by and I am very seriously thinking of an engine swap on the gas TR. Maybe between the two 915's, one of them will run or at least be easily salvageable.
Well, a tractor jockey has a 1420 listed for 3500. The head would be another 1000. But I question how worn out the combine is. Typically see just the combine closer to 5000.
@@iowapumpingandfarming387 but MUCH more reliable if it's well maintained and operated correctly. The new stuff can leave you in a lurch when the computer decides to cross its eyes and sh!t itself... then you gotta wait for the dealer to come fix and convince it to go back to work. Plus you get to pay out the nose for all this "convenience" LOL:) OL J R :)
This was the tail end of gasoline/propane power in large farm equipment... a decade earlier gasoline/propane tractors were still factory options. Diesels proved their value on tractors, but it took a little longer for them to totally replace gassers/propane on harvest equipment, and longer still on sprayers and swathers and other "light duty" equipment like that... OL J R :)
About as available for anything else we own. It all depends on the dealer. We know which dealer is better for the combine parts verses the hay parts. Or which dealer has parts guys who know what they are doing and can go beyond the computer screen.
Ah yes points and condensers never had any luck with the tsc stuff we get Borg Warner stuff from o Reilly have had good luck but you need to know parts numbers bless their hearts they ain't got a clue what farm equipment is A 40V. G 120 A fits old deere and all Chevy 235 but a combine with all the heat you may want electronic ignition
I went to O'Reilly for the BW points. We played with the timing and it idles so smoothly now. That's one thing I noticed, this gas has a high CFM fan on it. I really moves the air around the engine.
The 6600 uses the same axle as the TR70. If I had better equipped head out front I'd probably get another mph out of it or more. The TR70 sold new with a six row option. I don't think I have ever seen a 4400 with a six row. So with the rotors, especially in beans, it's much more capable.
Jake, they were incredibly over powered for the combine. I have seen all the stuff OLF fixes. That injector should have been a fifteen minute job for him...
Merry Christmas to all of you! Hope you get harvest complete. Looks like a nice day....
Happy New Year. We're still working on it.
As I am a farmer myself love to watch your videos!!
Thank you
I am with you on displacement of engines sizes

Merry Christmas and glad your running again. Hope you can get the head operating better so you can get done. Thx for the video !!!
We will get there one way or another. The head works best when it is as high as possible under the ear.

i love the new holland combine you have and #RoadTo5K
Thank you. Well, I am hoping to make 4 by year end. I think 5 is a possibility by St. Patrick's day.

Yes, it has both doors, which is wonderful in this chill.
Love you videos
Isn't it fun driving a combine down a country road . Some people are in such a rush . I'm sure you gotta set the stripper plates manually
I guess I phrased that wrong, the stalk rollers have plates, that's what I am referring too.
Boehm Farm Ohhh ok I understand now 👍... Merry Christmas and have a great New Yr ...

“So much Red” haha love it. Would you ever consider a red combine?

Boehm Farm yea that may be an idea. 915s are good machines. I haven’t seen many. Would you want to do a video on them?
Boehm Farm What would a 1420 and 844 corn head be worth in your area ?

Merry Christmas to all at Boehm Farm
Happy New Year.
Happy New Year to you and your family
Wow
I'm like you I'd rather have the old stuff!!
I say it is more a challenge and fun to operate and I am only 11 years old

Onelonleyfarmer has a nice TR for sale in new Jersey just make a reasonable offer
you could fit electronic ingition to it
I believe it needs a valve job too. I'm looking at replacing it with a diesel.
So was this thing a gasser from the factory? Seems crazy that such a recreational fuel and engine would be used to do a diesel’s job. Lol
This is the factory setup.

ok no1 how much petrol does the combine hold ..no2 how much does it cost to fill many thanks pete
60 gallons. $2.25/gallon
There's a close to me for sale. I take it you like your tr 70 how's parts available?

Ohio

Boehm Farm that's great I had a neighbor that had a gleaner that had heat problems really bad hopefully yours can avoid that with the fan you have
You can be like Wesley hamrick he took tr 86 cut corn with the flex head
I hope I don't have that much down corn. I did harvest the worst spots already. As far as I know, whats left should stand well.
👍👌🇨🇦❤
Do you have a patreon shortcut. Or do you have a patreon setup....
That is a work in progress.
Wes pandy aka onelonelyfarmer has a couple tr 70's I think should talk to home bout them!
How big of a difference is there between the new holland tr70 and a john deere 4400?

U should have got olf tr70
He's a great fixer, but I get the feeling that when he's done with something, it's well used.
@@boehmfarm4276 Very true... OL J R :)
will you do a face reveal at 10k subs ????
anonymous person he's made plenty of videos showing his face
What combine are you using?
TR70 gas.
Wes has a tr 70 for sale $750
TW-20 Craig is that all wes is looking to get for his wow
The motor needs help. I have seen so many 3208's with a "miss" And if it was an injector issue, they would have been fixed......
Boehm Farm there’s parts everywhere for 3208s and In combines they were a real good engine.
Boehm Farm wes never fixed it cause he has a different combine he used more
Jake, they were incredibly over powered for the combine.
