You are right Kevin, and I'm learning this the more I ride my GP1800HO. Did an Eastern NC ICW ride this weekend and the water was fairly choppy. Had another guy riding beside me on a supercharged 2008 RXP 255. With a pinned throttle, I was able to walk away from that RXP because the GP1800 stayed hooked up in that rough water. Hull tracked straight as an arrow and I felt every bump, but dang, what a blast!!

    100%
The supercharger on my GP went out this weekend. My top end was 45 mph. However, once we hit choppy water my friends could not keep up with me in their 300 rxp seadoos. The GP literally flew over the choppy water.

I’ve had an absolute blast on my GP1800R but it will definitely humble you. I have a stage 1+ tune on it and got bucked off last weekend at 70+ for the first time. It seems I know my limit now! Already pumped for the next season to hone my skill on this craft.

I have been nothing but impressed with the rough water hook up of my new GP SVHO! I’m thoroughly impressed!! I’ve always had Nano 2 so I don’t mind the “rough ride” at all. Did get to ride a 22 FX this year and now I see what folks are meaning when they say its like sitting on the couch! Thing was comfy no doubt! I’m 220 pounds and love my 22 GP. So much fun! When touring it’s very dry as well which is surprising to me!

Just got my first skis in 2020. 2 2020 used Gp SVHO's. One 3 hrs, one 4 hrs. Dude bought em for his 2 teen age daughters, needless to say they hated them. I got a good deal, with new trailer. Love em. Ride the livin shit out of em!! 🤣 SOOOO glad I got these and not any other model. Was a short learning curve, rough water will wear your dam knees out unless you read the water carefully, smooth water love raising hell, sharp cuts, tons of power, hold on!! 😂
I've stayed glued to your channel, have learned more here than 10 years anywhere else. Do my own maint, no beaching, hulls waxed no paint problems, learned how to store, charge batteries, ride, and safety on your channel brother, So Thank you, Thank you!! GP SVHO'S are the Chit on fresh water!!
    Great channel Kevin!!
How bout making loud colored rash guards, your logo on shoulders? You'd sell the crap out of em! Caps too, but loud colors, something groovy!! Just a thought bro....

Just bought a 2022 gp1800r. It's been pretty choppy here in south Florida, and I've been pretty pleased with how it handles. Got a few mph out of a power filter kit, next up is a tune. I enjoy your reviews a lot, so does my pop who has a 21 RXTx. We've been riding since the early 90's

I called every Yamaha dealership within 200km this spring and asked to be added to their cancellation list in the event that something/anything became available. I ended up with a GP1800R SVHO and I absolutely love it. Not only do I love it but the more time I spend on it the more comfortable I get riding hard and that makes me love it even more.

I’ve progressed from a XL700 > VX110 > 2019 VXR. Im starting to shop for a new ski and I think I’m ready for either a GP1800 svho or FX SVHO. I love the hull of my current VXR , it handles like a dream.

I was thinking about adding a second ski to the family. I thought it best to have a different model than the GP1800R I have, but I can’t decide on one I might like more. I’m glad I can’t decide because it means I don’t have any buyers remorse picking the GP. I love it. 🥇👍🏻

My 22 svho is definitely a lot louder and harsher when it hits a wave vs my 17 rxp but it feels so much more nimble was the first ski My wife has ever ridden she and the kids love it. I think it is a great all rounder. We only ride on rivers not ocean though so you do feel the porpoising at high speeds. I Can live with that

The GP1800 SVHO is the best lightweight runabout money can buy for closed-course fresh water racing. Although the recent P1- AquaX those guys did amazing with the GP offshore. Not sure why they killed the VX-R brand though…doesn’t make sense to have a N/A “GP” IMO

So tell me Kevin the "automotive paint" they use on the nano and nano2 cell hulls that come off from flex is it the same as what the autos use in the plastics bumpers or no? Also that is what I heard may not even be auto paints.

...but you literally just gave the answer! "Flex additive" is what keeps automotive paint from cracking and breaking off of modern plastic bumpers.

My 15 year old daughter pushes her 340 horsepower 21 gp 1800r pretty hard. Ive seen her take turns at 70 mph when conditions arise. Then after a straightaway back to 85. This skii does not beat the crap outta ya weve done plenty of 40 mile runs on that skii. And yes the gp w a riva grate n plate it really loves to go over 50 mph esp in chop. Like my old 600 sportbikes put tape on rpm guage below 10 grand let her eat.

It is the human condition. Lots of people buy sports cars that can't be appreciated meaningfully without doing an autocross or open track event. Those people would be better served owning a nice Grand Touring car.
