I’m seeing this video on February 9, 2024. Since the recording of it, they have added the ability to cause the split videos to become one. Like a Tesla, they can send updates that come to the drone through your phone and voila! Upgrade received in functionality. I have only been able to fly it for two days at times. I love the footage. I keep it actually at 1080p, 30fps. Why? Because that setting allows for HDR, or “high dynamic range”. The blacks are blacker, the colors are more vibrant. For my casual purposes, this format works and is actually beautiful to see after the shots are taken. Also I have never taken my phone with me to film…not even once. What a plus. Losing your phone, just leaving it behind only to pull out this tiny flying camera is just like a dream. I’m definitely keeping mine.

Turn the sound ON - it records from your phone and cancels prop noise. That's one of the hovers best features.

I got mine as part of the first shipment for the campaign. This little drone is what most people will need, I have a DJI that I used for low lighting fly and a Skydio for “hardcore” follow action shot. I have not touch my DJI and Skydio since I got this since most of my drone shots are considered selfies. I saw some reviews about the follow me of X1, this does not have obstacle avoidance like the Skydio so just consider that when you’re in follow me mode, it’s more of an open space follow me but for the price and how easy it is to launch, I can’t think of any other drone that beats this.

I don't think it erases them automatically, you'd get an alert on the app that it's full and you'd have to go and manually delete them from the on board gallery storage to make more space.

Can you get shots that don't have you in them, or does it always have to follow a person?
For the preset modes, it has to be you. But manual mode, you can get shots of anything else.

How the heck do you access the videos after you've recorded them? I downloaded the app and got it all set up paired with Bluetooth but it will not connect to the Wi-Fi of the hover X1 so all the videos I've shot are not available to be downloaded or even seen in the album. I have an Android that uses data only and do not have internet wi-fi. I didn't think I needed internet wi-fi.
Yes unfortunately you'll need WiFi to connect the drone to your phones album - it was by design. Sorry!
Mine is currently not connecting to my phone using the hover app 😑 . Yes I have both Bluetooth and wifi on. My VPN is also turned off.
I wonder the sound recorded will be quite high…. U recommend to have muted?
Audio is not recorded with the preset modes - only the manual mode. The app adds its own music in the background which isn't great. So I recommend to keep it muted and add your own music afterwards. This is because the fan noise is so loud that it is not possible to record any reasonable audio.
Recording is from your phone mic with prop noise cancelled out. You're missing one of the best features of the hover. 😉
All the videos are taken with one person in them..what happens when there is a group of people in "tracking mode" and they split up..some go left some go right..does it get confused !

How to make it land
The preset modes make the drone move itself, and come back to its starting position nearby to you, and then you just put your hand underneath it and it will land on your palm itself. With manual mode, you fly the drone back towards you, and it lands again when you put your hand underneath it.
All the reviews I see is of the black version….anyone try white?

The price now in the uk is £395!! Way too much! They’ve upped the price too much so will loose a lot of sales 👎👎
I think they went up to the retail pricing now, so the price I paid was the 'Early bird' pricing as part of the crowdfunding campaign, and since the campaign is now complete, they've put it at their public retail price. It is quite expensive in the UK compared to other regions though!
