I am from Brazil, I am learning English and I am interested in pursuing a career in the field of data science, and I use your videos to practice my English as well as to learn about data science, helped me a lot, thank you.
The term "communication skills" always seemed like a fancy way of referring to someone who can write good emails but Jen, you ironically made me understand what it truly means on a practical level
Currently in DBA Data Analytics curriculum. I have 8 Programming languages, power Bi and Tableau Certifications on my resume. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to grow and practice these new found skills so that I won't loose them
I have experience in data mining, data analysis, pharmacy claim experience, financial experience as well. I’m applying for a Data Analyst role within my current company. I’m a beginner in SQL. I need some tips in case I have a potential interview.
I have been trying to apply for data analytics apprenticeships, here in the UK, its really hard to get into :(.Do you know if it will help if i have projects to show? I already know C and C++ (from what i see these aren't normally used in DA)
Based on these skills, it seems data science would be the same thing or very similar to business analyst roles. What would be the main difference between the two? Thanks for the video!
Quick question, im a recent BS in Math graduate with C#, SQL,Java knowledge i got contacted and offered a position $45-55k as a data engineer. Am i being underpaid in chicago or does it sound reasonable? I see a ton of postings for $60-90k with very few requirements (unless the job poster sucks at detailing the job specifications and requirements 🤔)
That sounds pretty low to me unless they're using data engineer as a job title to draw people in but the description/work is for something else. You'd still have some room to negotiate higher, but it could be an issue longer term if they're already low-balling by so much. I'd expect with no experience, you should be in the $60-70k range minimum in the Chicago area for a data engineer position (typically higher than that if you end up at a very large company).
The Career Force i figured it was very low for the role. The recruiter reached out and within 2 days i got a phone screen with the senior data engineer. Now im waiting for a response the engineer said ill get info within a week. For the meantime im going to send out my resume to jobs this week. Hoping i can get anything 60k+ anyways thanks for the reply :)
The skill I talk about at 08:24 is sharing the right amount of information with someone based on the level of detail they need. A different example would be if you explained what data analytics is - you would tell a 5 year old that you do math as your job. You would tell someone that's in university studying math much more detail - specific skills, programming languages, etc. The explanation to a university math student wouldn't be helpful or meaningful to a 5 year old and the explanation to the 5 year old wouldn't be helpful or meaningful to the university math student.
@@TheCareerForce thank you so much for your answer. Actually i'm phd student in mathematics in "algebra" specifically in representation theory of quivers. Lastly I find a paper that it was talking about Topological Data analysis. I would like to talk about it.
There are some companies where that's the case, but the opposite is true most places. Companies are recognizing they can prioritize their work and resources based on what analysts do so many companies protect those roles over others. Of course if the business is doing poorly in general, no job is that safe.
@@TheCareerForce how to justify or making a good story on data to disguise the top management is the role of analyst. Otherwise the management always treat this role as liability . Learning technologies doesn't mean that you are able to do disguise the management

It depends what type of field you want to get into in the future. SAS is a good language to know, but tends to be a bit more specific in industries that use it. It's quite popular in medical and manufacturing. If you haven't learned a language yet and aren't sure what you want to do, I'd lean more towards Python.

How advanced would you say you are in those 8 programming languages?
how much maths and statistic is needed? i mean what topics of maths and statistics needs to be done for data analytics? can you make a video on that?
You are a service to those young and old- Keep it up!👍

Hi, Can you advice acer swift 5 for beginner data scientist ? ( 16gb ram, 512gb ssd, i7 11.generation)
Thanks so much for interesting and valuable advice and information on data analyst .
Just to further add, learn Data Cleaning!!!
I believe it's imperative to do clean data first before doing any analyzing!
That's a great one to add!
Of course, most of the data is dirty, and most of the times, we won't be able to analyse it without preprocessing.
lemontea000 there’s is a saying 80% of a data analyst’s job is to clean the data and another 20% to actually analyze it ..
What data analyst skill are you planning to work on in 2020?
Currently m graduating by 2021 in CS . wona be data scientist in future
I am studying Information Technology. at the same time, I took an online course Cognos Analytics with IBM.
Hi Jen do you help getting a job, once I learn Data Analyst Skills?
can you make a video about best courses for math and statistics for beginners
do companies in US and Europe hire remote data analysts employee from outside the country to work remotely or not?
God bless you!! Thank you so much!!
Would you be able to list out the exact mathematical concepts needed for a novice? Thanks
This was a really good video. Subscribed and looking forward to checking out all your other videos.
I’m starting a data analytics apprenticeship this February. So excited to finally start my career. Love your content btw :)

Is there any good full online course or training related to this data analytics mist have skills????
You are amazing! Thank you :)
Does programming languages are used in-depth?
Any advice on how to improve problem solving skills?

I am learning python, Why do you need python when you have tableau or SaS to do the work for you?
Does the course require high level coding ??
Very helpful thanks
Very insightful 👍👍
Thank you so much
Does a Data Engineer need maths as well? This is since they work hand in hand with data Analysts?
What about SQL? Isn't that the foundation to Data Analytics
Great!
