V-Day Parade: 7 Types of China-made Missiles Represent Chinese Artillery Force Formations

Seven types of China-made conventional and nuclear missiles featured the six People's Liberation Army (PLA) Second Artillery Force formations in China's massive parade marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War on Thursday.
The armaments include conventional missiles of Dongfeng-15B and Dongfeng-16, Dongfeng-21D anti-ship ballistic missile described by some media as the "carrier killer," Changjian-10A cruise missiles, Dongfeng-26 ballistic missiles, Dongfeng-31A solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missiles, as well as the Dongfeng-5B intercontinental strategic missiles designed to carry nuclear warheads.
The Changjian-10A cruise missile is able to fly at low altitude, penetrate enemy's defense system stealthily, and launch consecutive attacks in multi-directions with high precision.
"This is Changjian-10A cruise missile. Compared with the Changjian-10 displayed in the military parade to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, this armament is much more flexible in combat mode, with higher level of integration and informatization. It is easier to operate," said Lou Jun, leader of the third conventional missile formation of the Second Artillery Force.
The Dongfeng-31A missile is the hard core of China to launch strategic counterattack, and the strategic strength to safeguard national security and world peace.
The Dongfeng-26 missile, China's ballistic missile, can be fired at short notice and fitted with nuclear warhead. It is capable of launching accurate strikes on various kinds of target, and it is the new emerging armament in the formation of strategic missile.
The Dongfeng-15B and Dongfeng-16 are conventional missiles. And both types of missiles have fired missiles before, and they are powerful weapons to launch short-range precise attacks.
"The first two rows are Dongfeng-15B and the last two rows are Dongfeng-16. All of them launched missiles before. One of them fired a total of seven missiles," said Liu Shankun, leader of the first conventional missile formation of the Second Artillery Force.
The gigantic strategic weapons in camouflaged colors rolled on long-bed trucks prompted applause and cheers from spectators at the parade square.
The high-profile missile display reflects the latest achievements of the Chinese armed forces, and improvement of the Second Artillery Force's core military capacities.
Other equipment formations featured the modules of communication support and logistics and armament support, consisting of early warning radars, drones and vehicles for logistics, maintenance, refueling and other purposes.
