Reminds me of the monk ordering a hot dog. So the buddhist monk stops to get a hot dog, tells the vendor to make me one with everything. Pays for the hot dog with a 20$. The vendor takes the money, and then nothing. The buddhist, confused, asks for his change, and the vendor replies. Change must come from within. 🌭👍
"They're gonna take me to school" That's my favorite part of this series, especially with the historical characters, is that I feel like I learn a lot just from watching this. Thanks for these reactions ❤
It’s not that they turned on each other, in reality they were all from different points in history, but they built on their respective views. Voltaire and Nietzsche were considered students of Socrates because they built on his ideas, but they had their own views and opinions and that’s why they all ended up fighting. Same basic idea why Eastern group ends up fighting as well. Have a lot of fun watching you react to these!
This one is one of my favourite erb's. It works on so many levels. On a basic level, great beats and a fun rap to listen to with enough easy bars for it to be enjoyable, if you know a bit about each philospher then it goes up a level as you see the doubles on the normal disses, but when you know a lot about each guy then it hits top shelf as even their own beliefs and ideas become apparent in their lines and the way they rap. They must have researched so much to tie this all together. And then as the final masterstroke you have KRNFX beatbox over confusius bars, which is so original in ERB.
I'm not sure if they explained much of what these philosophers were all about, but since I'm familiar with all these guys I found this quite funny. Only a handful actually knew each other, so seeing a what if? of how they would I interact was fun.
What this shows is the people are really the same: defensive and offensive even when it comes to philosophy. We all revert to cavemen and women when it comes down to it. Now, how about some autumn songs by old school crooners like Sinatra. Let’s enjoy this season via music.
@@TheNylter yes, but the virus that causes covid-19 is SARS-COV-2. That's why they could develop a vaccine so quickly. There has been research going on since 2003.
Jamel, I hope you know you are an official "influencer"...I watch 4 other channels that do reactions and 3 of them are now doing ERB reviews. Just so you know..... you got INFLUENCE!!!! And well deserved, too! Keep on keeping on!
Got to give to the Eastern Philosophers. Yeah, the Eastern are very close to each other and calm, the Western philosophers always liked their own ideas. , and shared a few ideas, but they should have put Catherine the Great in because corresponded with Voltaire and studied all of them and became great because she listened first, thought, then acted. Being in power was her thing and she was brilliant
Not yet, but he's said he's planning on hitting _every_ ERB, so it's just a matter of time. Personally, I'm waiting for his reaction to Joan D'Arc v Miley Cyrus. ;^)
They will usually show at the end of the battle who was played each characters when there are extra battlers/guests. You always seem to stop early. Let the videos play a bit longer and you will see the names of the rappers. Don't be so quick to stop the video.
Nietzsche: Nice Peter Socrates: EpicLLOYD Voltaire: Zach Sherwin Sun Tzu: Timothy DeLaGhetto Confucius: MC Jin Laozi: KRNFX They put the cast in the description boxes, just in case you want to check.
If one is going to read nietsche's book, read the edition published in 1960, the first edition published in 1900 was filled with his sister's nationalism and antisemetism.
This is a perfect example of one of my favorite things about ERB: The battles are jao-packed with references, in-jokes, puns, etc. But they also write them in a way that the videos are approachable even without knowing a bunch about the characters.
You you are so awesome if you look familiar he used to come a wine out I can't think of his name right now but he used to always go I can see it cuz they were the shortest ones on the show but he used to be on walling out as well that's how you got noticed oh daylight ghetto that was his name
If you're learning your history of erb, just remember, there's basically the compendium of human knowledge in a piece of plastic you carry everyday and we're wasting it watching crazy cat videos and "ow my balls"!
My single favorite ERB. Glad you got around to it. Everyone in this just nails it and it's hard to pick a winner. Voltaire got it for me with his B frank lines but it's close since the eastern team did better over all. You gotta do Shaka Zulu versus Caesar soon
Philosophy is cool. It was what people used to figure out life before it became all about religion. And it's better because it doesn't assume the existence of the supernatural.
You've got to be kidding ! Learning Philosophy through rapping ?????????? Get real. When I read "rapping", I thought it would be a representative from each side having a rap (a conversation) about Philosophy .
Well since I am a very objective person, Socrates, the OG, clearly won (the fact that I am Greek, has nothing to do with my decision.. OK maybe just a little because to be honest, Eastern side was better)
That’s hilarious because this start calling I guess each other that’s hilarious because it’s not worse there’s no East versus West it’s all the same truth is truth there’s not eastern truth and western truth

For all the guys who might not like these you should do a song review of Extreme's "Get The Funk Out" and link it to each of their replies.
Voltaire’s “be frank” lines were my favorite part of this one.
Just brilliant
I didn't understand that reference

They missed out on the chance to call out Nietzsche for dying of syphilis! But the best line was in the closing: "What is Winning?"

If you'd watched just a tiny bit longer it showed credits and you were right, that's MC Jin as Confucius.
Jin has great flow

basically what I said to myself before scrolling down.
Argument is the basic function of philosophy.
Get six philosophers in a room and you'll get 11 different opinions, what are you gonna do?
Only 11? More like 50.

For me the Eastern guys are more fun because of the variety in there styles but the best part of how they all start fighting among each other.
Notice how "who won" was replaced with "what is winning?" nice touch and attention to detail even through the closure. Well played ERBoH,well played.

Epic Rap Battles if Manliness - Rhett and Linc.
MC Jin is one of the asian rappers in this battle. He used to be on Rap Battles on MTV, and now he's a Christian rapper.
They need to do a part two for this this rap battle. It ended when it was just getting good.
