This game is terrifying, the way it scares the player is genius. Amazing design. The sounds are masterfully crafted. I love it my 2nd favorite horror game of all time.
@@jackjager8790 if you love re4 you should try Cold Fear, its like resi 4s gameplay with resi 1-3 atmosphere and actually scary instead. Its the only game that aside from Amnesia I didnt finish on first try and literally shat my pants back then. It would need a HD Remake and would still set most games in the shadow
In my opinion ,,Amnesia: the dark descent" is a perfect horror game. The story was awesome, the sanity and light mechanics were neat, the atmosphere was scary through the entire gameplay, the monster encounters were nicely placed, and the game only has one jumpscare.
2 years later but on my first ever playthrough of the game I did the exact same thing. Opened that door saw it my eyes went wide and closed the door right away.

In the room where you find skulls in the cupboard, past the table where the dog was killed, there is a painting on the wall of someone. I think it is meant to be the Baron. Some people say that if you look at it for a while, something scary happens to the painting. Have you ever had that?
As far as I remember it happens when you have low sanity. When you do, the painting changes into an odd portrait of him with reddish-orange skintone as if he had his face peeled off, and his eye sockets appear empty. Besides, his mouth looks like a beak curved downwards, open and without teeth. I think it is speculated that that's his true appereance.
The only thing I do wrong in the game today is that I occasionally overlook, still, one or two notes from the beginning there. Edit: Plus, I still hate the flooded archives even though I can pass it without damage.
My game broke on the switch. The part where the barrel falls on your head some of the stuff is not physically showing up blocking the door and it doesn't give me the option to even open it. Guess I have to completely restart..
I look forward to seeing them 🙂. Most people I see on YT playing them are too loud with commentary. I like commentary for some videos, but sometimes I like to just watch the game.
Not hearing Pewdiepie screaming and talking as inanimate objects in this game is a new experience for me. I gotta say the music and sound effects are scary af. O_O
I need help YALL I got to the part where I sawed Agrippas head off and it’s time to assemble the orbs but in the room with Daniels note the bucket of tar is not on the shelf. Did I do something wrong? I tried back tracking but everything is already covered in flesh I can’t go back. I’m just stuck….
Save early, save often. These old games may be masterpieces of audio/visual art, but engine wise...well they don't tend to like modern systems. Check every nook and cranny, and if you can't find it, load an earlier save.

I remember when this series came out.. Everyone was hooked af by this game. I have it for free but i have too much fear to try it.
