with price differences like these, japanese cards feel like the right choice for anyone without a near unlimited buget X3 when im nostalgic about a card ill *try* to lean towards getting it in english, but for modern stuff its the same art either way so it feels like the obvious choice to me, very glad i picked up the sar vaporeon at 45 bucks cuz that was the main thing i wanted from these sets

Great progress in such a short amount of time! I've barely found any in the wild - I think I'm up to 40 total packs? which is a lot compared to many people! I've pulled one trainer SIR so far and maybe 5 masterballs. Definitely making progress but this is probably a 2-3 year goal for me!

Nice! Congrats! While I don’t think you should use me as an example for how much to spend, because I’m a dummy and also overpay by buying at the start of a set, it’s awesome to pay off those debts.
I just use ultra pro penny sleeves! If you want some that are just a tiny little bit shorter up top but fit just as well otherwise, vault x sleeves are great too.
Thanks! I just use regular ultra pro penny sleeves. As an alternate I will use vault x sleeves because they’re super clear and like… half a mm, a mm shorter than ultra pro. So sometimes if the stitching in a binder is super snug for ultra pro, the vault x fit better. But ultra pro is my default.

I’m pretty sure there is a mistake in your binder early on. In the grass type section. I don’t know why but you are one spot forward ending grass. The flareon should start top right of the fourth page. Yet yours starts in the first spot of the second row of the 4th page. Correct me if I’m wrong.
You aren’t wrong! I put an extra spot before Whimsicott by mistake, and since it happened at the very beginning and I’ll be swapping this binder anyway I haven’t fixed it. Good eye!
My general goal is just to complete it before the next set releases! It’s hard to focus on two at a time for me haha. And the faster I go means I can use the downtime for other things, like older sets etc
I won't say my job but I will say I'm very fortunate to be able to budget the way I do. This set is a little nuts... I'm not sure I would have "mastered" it without the motivation of the youtube channel behind me. But tbh that's why I started the channel, was to keep up my motivation for the hobby, and I'm supremely lucky that people watch and engage so that I can continue to plug along on crazy sets like this. I'll definitely talk more about it on future videos since this is such a crazy expensive set.
May I ask how you decide not to grade a expensive card like that Umbreon? (Even though a card like that has psa 10 potential) Im having trouble making that decision with a Gold Giratina Vstar, trying to complete the CRZ masterset😅
I like to collect in binders! So I’ve actually never sent anything out for grading. We may do that soon for some cards. I don’t think this one would get a 10 though!
Hey, I really like your videos and I'd like to know something, do you put sleeves on the "normal" cards that you put in the master sets binders ? (I do not know the correct term, I think its the commom cards, ex: exeggcute 001/191 from surging sparks))

If your in San Diego I opened about 60 packs and didn’t find anything I care for keeping if u want to trade. I’d be down to meet up if you want to go through them
I expect all cards from this set to drop every batch of new product being released. If product continues to be scalped and not available, I guess I expect it to rise a bit over the long term. But if they become readily available where people are actually ripping packs instead of just keeping stuff sealed, hopefully prices crater. Long long term though I trust it’ll be the most valuable card of the era, unless something super awesome and crazy comes in a set soon!!
@Pokelou502 if I may ask, why didn't you wait a while purchasing that card then? Doesn't feel like it's a rush to complete the set asap haha. If more become available, might become cheaper?
Couple reasons. Number 1, some of the past chase cards from sets have risen in value from day one on, like greninja or pikachu. I figured if those cards did, umbreon definitely would. Number 2, no there isn’t any rush really, but I mean I do have a UA-cam channel and do kinda want to finish quickly lol. Plus it’s the only one I’ve seen or found locally!! Singles are hard to find for this set!

In my opinion, all of the Japanese holos are a lot more vibrant than the US counterparts. I have that jolteon and it is super impressive.
