@@aminrosli9744 Personally I don't know why the band elected crybabies as their presidents. You had Haruka, who often got tearful, then you have Yuuko, who bawled when Kaori surrendered to Reina in the audition knowing who was better.

It's not a manga, but a Light Novel, and it has nothing to do with the anime, or at least not that much, specially regarding the relationship between the protagonists XD So if you praise the ship REINA-KUMIKO it's better if you don't read it haha

They are both so different. I´m always that fascinated of how good they made this anime. When they start to play it really looks like the actually playing an instrument! There is so much detail in the animation... Just wow!!
I've heard band junkies weigh in, and they say that Kaori's solo is really sound in technicals. But as a solo it just doesn't assert itself. On a closer look, I'd dare say she's taking the solo too fast (not ideal at all) and Kaori isn't carrying her sound long or far enough. It's like she's short of breath. Reina's sound is much more distinct. It is known that Reina plays expressively. But more specifically you can hear her taking more time with the breaths, the tone's just more natural and less claustrophobic, she lets the trumpet ramble a little and take up space. On the really long notes her solo becomes transcendent, the trumpet just floats and you lose yourself in how expansive the notes are. It's hard to describe, but I'd compare it to a pleasant kind of vertigo, or the hypnogogic falling sensations people sometimes get before sleeping. When I listen to Reina I can visualize myself in the morning sky, it's that evocative to me personally. It took me a while to piece out the difference, but I appreciate Reina's solo that much more now that I've taken time to listen more closely.
just putting in my thoughts, I have the sheet music, and kaori is rushing the 16th notes, and cutting off notes, the first note is not very clear, reina plays in a more expressive, slow style. its likely you prefer the faster, more urgent style.

NicYoong Productions actually she grew more mature if you watch liz aoi tori, a sequel but the storyline focuses more on nozomi and mizore

It was played by a different musician. The audition v. was played by a top trumpet of the marine. The concert v. was recorded from a school band.
