Love the suicide dive in that Flight Simulator 3:04 . Like no hesitation whatsoever
i love the legions design, so industrial and clean looking, as a lenovo should look. Not as industrial as the old thinkpads for example, but still looks very cool
Lenovo's wave of mega silent firings in early 2023 were absolutely despicable. They laid of thousands of really great people after posting record profits and bragging about moving up the Forbes list each quarter in their "All Hands" NA org sales meetings to those people that moved the needle for them. They ruined thousands of people's lives, especially those that relocated and even bought new homes during the peak of covid when Lenovo asked for their dedication to support and grow the business. Their warranty process is atrocious and considered terrible by anyone who has had to deal with service claims on top of this.
Very thorough and in depth review as always!
A very thorough and professional presentation - thank you Ella! 😎👍😎
Excellent review. Touched on a lot of things other reviewers did not. Helped me decide. I am buying.
That looks like a great choice for the "mobile desktop" segment. It's definitely a machine you want to keep plugged in pretty much all the time you are using it.
Does the performance actually tank if you have it unplugged? Or does it still let you use it at full power but the battery will just drain quick?
@@mhamid3d yeah, performance tanks, and even then it still drains very quick. See minute 5 in the video.
Brilliant, in-depth review!

Now that's a powerful laptop! 🤩🤩
We've gotta test this in the XREAL lab!
My question is whether the fans come on / pulse during day to day tasks (web, spreadsheets etc).. I have the 2021 Legion7 and that is my biggest bug-bear by far, the fans even go on/off on background tasks sometimes it is really annoying...
Actually, if one knows specifically what level of quality the upgraded features are compared to anything else you can get in a laptop, I would argue this laptop is well worth the price "if" you can afford it. The screen would go against the best quality tv screens one could buy (1200 nits! (leaves OLED in the dust,) massive colorspace and dynamic range, etc...,) the liquid cooling is a totally next gen feature that will quickly become a necessary feature in high end laptops when it becomes more widely available, the ai chip is an untested feature that could be so-so or great, largest battery that can go on a plane, a fingerprint reader for quick login (yes, other laptops have this but it has been conspicuously absent from Lenovo systems,) aesthetics that are understated but speak quality as a high end system should (yes, personal opinion) and build quality that is top notch. I can't afford it, and most people won't be able to, but it is interesting to see a Rolls Royce level laptop. If I could afford it comfortably I would buy it yesterday. ;)
Interesting gaming Laptop, workstation on the GO when traveling. Will there be any future gaming laptop comparisons in the near future? What are the graphics specifications of the laptop? Thanks for the Legion’s review! 👌💻👩💻🥰⭐️💎
With the LK-99 super conductor discovery will mean major advancement in computer chip technology. No more heat issues and no more speed limits. Size of circuits will be just limited by quantum effects with energy migration. AI will be the norm and robot technology will enter a new phase.
That's a great price! Very affordable if you are looking for a video editing pc or gaming rig
Looks amazing , and ligtht weigth🎉
Pretty slick design.
Yeah $3800 for a laptop is gonna be a hard no for me.
A portable water cooled 4090. If I didnt just get a pc i would go for it
Pretty cheap to me for all that tech, I make that weekly
@@TheDeviousLightgood job I’m proud of you !
the prices on gaming laptops is justifiable for their architecture and complex hardware
Ye this laptop is more a Lamborghini of laptops
I just want to watch Ella other than what she is reviewing 😊
wow...!!!, that the most beatiful design inside hardware after macbook !!!!
Stuck with the Legion 7i Pro. The value for performance is insane. Received the 4090, 32gb ram, and 2tb SSD for $2,450.49+tax! Only downside I can tell is the IPS panel versus the mini led for the 9i.
That top looks nice.
This is not really a review, but an advert... the thing is around 4500 EUR in Europe, quite outrageous price, aimed purely at top luxury richie riches , not common mortals..
yep, she said nothing about power limits and thermals. Instead it was "look at the fps, it's so high! Look at that unique cooling!" without sharing any details. Yay...
Its a status symbol and i love it
A supwr effective 7m overview!
This laptop is stacked! Not worth the cost though the Legion 7i is way better value right now for your dollar, hopefully they offer discounts on this build in a few months.
The 3d Mark time spy score seems to be lower than on the pro 7i. So less performance for a lot more money?
~ Ella! ~ thank U
what are the temperatures and power limits?
Got to love the comments from people that this isn’t made for nor have the money for. Cheers mates
review of a gaming laptop with almost no mention of gaming :D
Hi, I am a student from Nigeria, and things are very hard over here this year, I wanted to know whether or not I can get a device for school, Thank you, Hope you reply
how does it handle 3d modeling software...i dont using gaming laptops for gaming but for 3d modeling
Ella❤
could you please also do a review on Huawei Mate 60 Pro+?
I don't know why they wouldn't put a full 4K monitor. For content creators, animators, etc. it'd be the perfect desktop replacement. I'm sure it's worth its price and rich people will enjoy it, though. 😂
P.S. Ella is so beautiful!
4k is super taxin on GPU. You can have razer blade 16 with 4k
Don't need 4k at 16 inch it is pretty pointless
I probably will wait for 360hz or maybe 500hz if it's come up, and also ddr7 video card, which is next year.. This laptop almost perfect, but 165hz is not enough
I can understand the airplane battery issue, but it would be cool if they offered a larger battery as an optional purchase, for students and etc.
I agree, but there are power banks that have the same battery capacity so it could possibly double the battery life like the anker prime 250w and it can deliver 140 watts
Your reviews are the best 🤍
I love her, and the laptop 😂
Hi Ella,
I hope you're doing well.
I am seeking your advice regarding the acquisition of a new laptop. Specifically, I am contemplating between two options:
1. Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro with an I7-12700H processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD.
2. MacBook Air or MacBook Pro (13-inch) with 8GB of RAM and a 218GB SSD.
Given my intended usage for work and college-related tasks, which include applications such as Microsoft Office, UA-cam, email, and web browsing, I am interested in your expert opinion on which option would best cater to my needs.
Thank you in advance for your valuable input!
Not Ella but a software engineer who uses many different laptops all the time. Windows will always run Microsoft Office better, but Mac handles them just fine most of the time. Unless you are doing something very specific like running some niche Excel macros (for example, if you are in some finance sector) then both will do just fine.
Apart from that, both will handle what you listed just fine so it comes down to personal preferences.
- The MacBook Air/Pro will have a much better battery life, which is very nice for college
- They will probably run quieter and cooler
- The Lenovo have more storage and likely will be upgradable storage for very cheap down the line.
- 16 GB is very nice and might be more future proof but macOS and Apple silicon do manage RAM very well so it's not like you will notice much difference with your use case. This is unless you know you will be opening very huge Excel files (hundreds of thousands of rows)
- Mac generally retain value better and the better battery life allows more room for the battery to degrade before becoming unusable.
- If you ever want to develop an iOS or macOS app then you must get a Mac
- macOS runs a version of Unix kernel so many programming toolchains will run natively. Windows do have very good WSL nowadays but it is still an extra thing you have to use
@@woodies11 Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my comment! I really appreciate it.
Now, I have another question. Since there aren't any MacBook models of 13' with 16GB RAM left, I was wondering if you could help me decide between a MacBook Air 13' or MacBook Pro 13' with 8GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD or 512GB SSD. What are your thoughts on that?
@@mimimellow6298 if you order directly from Apple website, you should still be able to configure 16 GB of RAM? Anyway, between Air vs Pro, it will depends on whether you like the Touch Bar (MacBook Pro only) or not. Most people hate it so Air might be better.
That said, the Pro does have a fan while Air don't. That could be useful if you live in hot climate or do something very intense for extended period. If not, not having a fan means it's quieter and do not suck dust inside, which may increase longevity.
Between 256 and 512, of course, more SSD is better if you can if it to your budget. It depends on your needs though. You can certainly buy external SSD later on for much cheaper but they will never be as convenient as internal ones.
Good Ella
When does it hit Canadian markets?
i absolutely LOVE this laptop. Ultra premium. With a price to match. I went on to Lenovo Canada. And configured one to how i would want it. ummm yah... and it came up to.... Drumroll.... $4928.93 hahaha. I want ot so badly though. might have to save
What is that smudge on the cooling part above the keyboard?
@razer laughing at back :3
Ellaa 😃
What resolution was Microsoft Flight Simulator running at?
Lenovo did it again! What a sexy and powerful gaming laptop.
Got the Asus Scar 17 X3D, still have 25 days return window 😅
What about temperatures and fan noise?
i really love the design and the spec, can i have it?
Just ordered mine 2tb 4090 64mb mem so fully loaded for $3600
Looks like a powerful laptop, but man, it's expensive! You could get a used car for that money! 🤯
Torn between Razer Blade16 4090 and this one 😢
Great advert. I guess you get to keep it now?
Great vid as per usual girly
Thank you!!
Lenovo always makes the most professional laptops
What is that O looking mark on the top left side of the grill? It shows up in quite a lot of shots and looks kinda bad?
I also spotted that
Would this perform better in games than a pro 7i (also with a 4090) due to AI and cooling? Or even worse due to its slim design?
Should be about the same. The extra $$$ is on the screen and low profile cooling
@@Peizxcv I would be fine with “about the same”, kinda worried that it might be worse though due to the slim design and earlier thermal throttling…
Thanks for the reply! :)
No, the Legion Pro 7i has a maximum TDP of 250W, while the Legion 9i has a maximum TDP of 230W.
@@tythee3472 wouldn’t that mean that the pro 7i would perform better? Trying to figure out if the 9i is simply a slimmer 7i or a worse performing 7i because of its design
It's probably not a huge difference but probably a little better due to the cooling capabilities. The watercooling I believe only kicks in at 86 degrees so heavy loads will probably be the real test. Also it has overclocked ram on here. I don't know if the 7 had the ai thing or not. I would just wait to see if that is important. If I were to guess, then I would assume that it would hang around similar numbers, but perform a heck of a lot better as soon as it hits that 86. So likely better sustained under heavy loads and better peaks. 🤔 all just speculation.
Is this better than the asus strix 18
I Love U❤❤❤❤
Lol, I'm with Ella... never understood the appeal of RGB lights.
It s a way to hide terrible keyboard design
the fan from the top 💀looks like we need a new laptop cooler now LMFAO
Can someone explain the need of the number key pad on the right these days? It shift the keyboard to the left which can be undesirable.😢
lenovo always puts a numpad on their 16 inch laptops
if you dont like it buy from a different company
How much must be very high cause you want mention it
Watching an expensive laptop which I can't buy feels good
Hmmm may just have to budget it out😅
@@DeVinaire357 yeah and gotta buy one on EMI
@@DeVinaire357Such overkill, at this price it makes more sense to get a desktop with a much better performing gpu
Wow, a magnetic lid...
Good option for people like me who are sailors

Dose it also come with AMD CPU and nvidia GPU instead of Intel CPU???
yes the legion version which comes with i (is intel ones 5i ,9i etc) the ones that comes with simple name(without i) legion 5 5 pro , legion 7 these are amd cpu ones. and amd ryzen 7945hx is even better than intel.
Cool video and laptop. I'll be sure to sell a kidney for this.
This will blow a razer out the water. Way better for the money.
As an owner of both previous Legions. Great laptops until they overheat and a key or two breaks.
Or screens fucking up
my friends' Legion 5 pro and Legion 7 don't overheat, especially after undervolting. Not sure what you do with your laptops.
@@tabalugadragon3555I have a legion 7 all amd. It's great, thing is, it heats up like crazy. It's not an issue with the laptop, but amds drivers. On 23.9.1 the cpu will literally go all the way up to 100. But on some other updates, it'll just be at like 80 or maybe even 70 doing the same thing.
hi, sorry to ask this but are you korean?
this is just a spec sheet read
you don't even talk about how the "integrated water cooling" is a gimmick since there's no radiator, and how it performs the same with the pump disconnected. pretty disappointing
I Am comparing it with the m18.
For now is so expensive. its track pad is so small !!!.Laptop screen has a one side hinge!!! There are just two usb A connectors!!!
Con ese precio la podria comprar en unos 5 años jajajajajaja
Do you think this design is quieter in general use or gaming compared to other gaming laptops?
Dedicated AI chip?

Am i the only one who saw that 3:28 what going on with her eyes?
How Lenovo thinking?
With 4500$ i will make full setup + 2k OLED display
you mean build your own laptop? good luck with that. If you're talking about desktop - please, PLEASE record yourself caring it around every day like laptop owners would do it.
@@tabalugadragon3555 these comments are everywhere concerning this laptop. Cracks me up, IQ has just fallen off a cliff in the last decade. The I can build or why would someone buy this, type questions just prove to me people are stupid. Like you said I’d love to see someone carry around their full ass desktop through the airport and not get taken into questioning.
@@gtrblackhawk yep, a laptop is literally made for portability, that is its main purpose over a desktop.
What's next? They are gonna say "it's better to build a desktop" over a smartphone? Or getting large speakers as a replacement for tiny wireless earphones? Or to get a bus instead of a car? You get the idea.
@@tabalugadragon3555 Could not have said it better myself. For us select few that do use something like this laptop I’m looking forward to more companies pushing the envelope. That being said we will see about the 9I.
Finally a laptop that can run minesweeper.
Lenovo is making a big deal out of the water cooling system, but so far not a single metric about thermals. So, to someone like me, that indicates the water cooling is not as good as expected, otherwise they would focus their marketing on showing the numbers.
Also, the fact that not a single preview video mentions the speakers, it makes me think its very bad.
£4600 😮 very steep price
Pre-COVID: $4500 for a used car
Post-COVID: $4500 for a laptop with color lights
You forgot the extra cost of installing wheels to the laptop. 🤯🤣
What I don't like is how they ruined the Legion Pro 7 2023(Compared to the 2022 Legion 7) and then overcompensated with the most expensive laptop.
Alot better laptops out there for way cheaper Ells
Can you do giveaway of the laptop mam please😢
I like macbook more
