Magnus needs to watch this if he wants to keep his hopes of reaching 2900 elo alive
He plays less knoen opening variations to throw his opponent off these opening is a bad choice
@@need2know772 i think this was meant to be ironic
What if he plays this opening, because his opponent thinks that he would play a weird variation, And prepares for all the weird variaton, But his oppenent isn't actually prepped for this, So then he thinks that his enemy would think but then he actually goes back to square one.
Won't matter much... He will win anyway😂
Yes
I like e4 and then Ke2
Then black plays e5 after e4 and Ke7 after Ke2
Bongcloud is the best opening.
then it gets repeated 16 times ending up in a draw
@@BruhGamer05 cannot agree more
How original
I like the Bongcloud opening.
Ain't no way
bruh
I like the King's Gambit: Tumbleweed Variation.
Gentlemen I see
Yeah it’s actually really good cause the green squared bishop can’t hit the king anymore
You forgot to mention how you can develop your king with ke2, which is completely winning for white
I think the bongcloud is trash
@@calamazones7677 nah
your not funny bro
@@didsomeoneask First off, spread love, not hate, second of all, I am adding on to the joke, and if you have nothing of benefit to add, dont say anything at all. Dont be so rude, it doesnt help anyone.
@@didsomeoneaskwhat about his not funny bro?
c4 left the chat
One of my top 3 choices
Its the 4th most popular
here are stockfishs top choice for first move! at first place we have d4 "wow thats interesting that they ranked it above e4" and in second place we have . . . "well i guess e4 is second but fine" . . . Nf3 "wtf . . . " . . . and at third place we have . . . "well finally e4 right . . . " . . . c4! " . . . "
Too explosive
The English isn’t in the top three…
The top five is the
Kings pawn
Queens pawn
reti
English
Hungarian
With the nimzo Larsen 10000 less at 6th
I once played an opponent yesterday and his first move was arguably an amazing representation of the immense power he held... h4.
okay but imagine h3
@@datechboi lol
1. h4 e5 2. Rh4 Bxh4 3. Nxh4
Lmfao
@@realmrbeast6974 thats illegal
I prefer f3 then g4
Yeah same most stable opening. I dont think it can get checkmated ever, let alone in two moves
I play that every time I play chess! I have an elo of 3700 and have won 101% of my games!
There is noo way you play it stfu
🧢 you dropped this katana !
@@safwanullahkhan3413 Wow! It’s like the impossible elo and win rate wasn’t enough! Hm… It’s like I was being sarcastic! No, that can’t be. You must be smarter than me because of this comment.
In 99% of games between mid and higher level players, (serious enough to record the games) e4, d4, Nf3 and c4 are chosen as opening moves. All other 16 moves are used in 1% of games combined.
Im High Rated My Self:2050 Rapid Elo On Lichess
13-15 Years Old
And I Can Tell You There Are Other Options
Like: C5 Sicilian; D3- E5 French There Are Also More,Even C6-D5 Caro-Kann Is Played Quite Often In Higher Level
My fav first move is move the rook through its front pawn SACRIFICE THE ROOOOOOK
English opening left the chat
Man grew a whole beard in a single day
I perfer b3
Followed up with Bb2
Kf3
e3
Be2
O-O
All those are almost certainly after it
My man just killed every English player out there😢
Exactly
its not top 3, he only said top 3
@@simzn3991 But English Opening is the 3rd most common move, at least according to lichess
@@simzn3991it’s definitely more popular then the Reti/Zukertort tho
I always usually use the queens pawn and honestly, it works pretty well
always usually... great comment
Me as a h4 opener: 👁👄👁
What after H4, get the rook going or g3?
I usually let the rook go; rook h3 then rook e3 this some times work and sometimes not (T&C) apply xD
@@areebaftab5778 Wtf is the rook doing on e3? It only effectively controls squares from one direction (forward), unlike bishops, which can control in two directions. And rooks are much better in the endgame (why it's worth 5 points), so you won't want to trade it off for a minor piece in the middlegame. Not to mention that because it's worth more than a minor piece, it's easy to be attacked and you have to spend tempi to move it.
@@danielyuan9862 That's the reason dude, it controls the line directed towards enemies king and - and if he has moved the Kings pawn then its directly is pinned, I usually develop bishops after that.
Rooks are better at endgame but I was trying some weird things 🤪, well you are right it's easy to get attacked but I encounter both win and loose with this, I guess everything is fine till you enjoying the game 😁
Who uses h4
a4 to assert dominance
Me, who is brand new: what next?
He can bishop instead of queen to avoid stalemate
The knight move is the Reti opening. I like to play it cause of its flexibility, and on the black side I can play the Ross gambit.
Knight F3 is my favorite first move
when I first started playing chess last week, I always did the e4 opening without any prior knowledge of it being a solid move, glad to know now.
No c4 love :(
Queens gambit is the best opening
D4
C4
If takes, E4
If not, then develop your bishops and knights and go E5 then castle and move your queen and you'll have a great position! This isn't coming from a 900, its coming from a 1933 whos peak elo was 2087
You are just saying the main line of the opening, a 200 could say the same thing and be equally right
@@gifflube2783 the main line of accepted is actually knight f3, so I’m really questioning the legitimacy of this person’s claims.
First day of chess kindergarten
There is also c4 and g3 as very playable openings. e3 and c3 are theoretically playable, but very difficult
never move your queen until you've developed your bishops and knights. D4 is the best opener
I just threw this out the window and played the English
I can't believe the only opening I played before learning how to play chess, properly, was viable (knight F3)
Don't get me wrong, my strategy was absolute hot garbage, basically it was to just move the knight, and *hope* I could get my opponents queen or rook, or as many pieces I could take before doing the same thing with my other knight and then cleaning the game of.
So, hope chess
My favorite is B3
Bishop and Queen will get a good check.
Hippo- Hold my beer
The sky is blue
I used this all three moves girstly without watch any chess tricks at that time.
😎
C4 for me bro.
What if...im the black colour pieces???
But question is what is our next move 😅😅
“Minor piece”
Hey its the guy from the 502 error screen
I am a beginner and I usually prefer London move
For a long time I was an e4 guy, but the last few months I’ve been doing the Réti opening Nf3. Underrated, I’ve been having massive success on centre control with it.
Bruh pawn h4 FTW and you can't convince me otherwise
They summoned the audience by putting Bobby Fischer on the thumbnail
For me when you open at the Queens side the Al gonna say YOUR NOTHING WITHOUT YOUR QUEEN
I see you guys forgot the classic opening of sending a nuke to the other side to kill the king rather than wasting time with all this pawn, knight and queen nonsense
Yet stock fish rates these moves a 0.01
Very helpful video, thank you!
My favorite is the Reti move Nf3 and it is best to transpose to a D4 opening because it sort of somehow give the opponent a psychological impact on them.
Thank you for this video i learn a new moves
When you move your knight as the opening, its called Retí
Pawn c4 really helps me
Magnus: Does bongcloud
thanks for that lesson
Chess talk you learn me
All this time, I've been starting with Grob's Attack 😭
I like a3 and then h3
i personally enjoy the bongcloud opening and the king’s fianchetto
"The 3rd best first move is to move the knight to f3"
Me who always did that and didn't know it's on the 3rd place : 👁👄👁
For me I like to play Nf3 in tournaments due to it's flexibility and because it is a very flexible choice I think deserves more credit as an opening not just based on perfect play or piece activity but adaptability.
c4!
My top go-to move is to insert a wireless device up my cavity to face any pogchamp, Magnus included
I always go for d4 because my favorite opening is the london system or if you prefer the pyramid opening
More lessons!
This is a good video. Accomplishes everything it intends to do
3rd opening is 1.c4 its explosive according to Ben
I like go to king pawn king knight and bb5, retreat if they attack the bishop and if they don’t I castle
i like the reti opening
the third one is just the Reti opening
We all know the best moves but what about the worst moves
C4 crying in corner xd
Like your shorts, making chess shorts myself. Keep em coming!
Be a giga chad for the memes.
Start with the Sodium Attack.
Number 3 is the best move because after number 3 you play e4 and the next move you castle (maybe with check)
My fav opening is just e4,d4 develop both knights
I like g2 and b2 to get the bishops out of the way and for it to defend the center
c4 have the surprise factor
Knight to c4,after that pawn to d4
g3 grob doesn't have mercy
I release the knight pawn first because my plan means to even the battlefield by losing pawns and killing their important pieces then defeating the king with my powerful pieces
This is very helpful and i only have one month to practice chess thanks for the tips
Reti opening is my fave Opening
Horse- Rete opening
Fischer considered C4 his invincible first white move. So much so that an Argentine grandmaster resigned against his 1.C4 on the first move!
Nf3 d4 is my typical opening
coach danny irl
Me doing kadás 👀
My favourite are h5 g5 a5 b5 and queen's gambit
I never used the first one, but always used the other 2. Didn't know they were so popular
I prefer the fools mate, because it's funny
Am i the only one who used to push their rook pawns first?
the knight one helps you get the enemy pawns out and more then use a pawn to move across the chess board. If this doesn't work then use the pawn to move and make the rook escape which makes it easier to win.
i discovered kings indian and fianchetto recently and its pretty good.
The kingside fianchetto is definitely an underrated tactic for beginners. If you like it, I highly suggest investigating the Catalan opening for white.
@@Roxrock ah il check it out, tysm
E4 E5 Ke2
Literally last week i learned how to play chess, am 26 years old 😅.
Got to say it fun, strategic, requires great amount of focus, very challenging.
Enjoying it.
B3 and G3
Oh the 3rd one is cool lol. I didnt know it was a popular opening and i made a chess bot.. when i saw it play it i was confuzed lol..
I love the reti opening, its very powerful against anyone below 800 elo
Its very powerfull against anyone at any level
d4 opens up the king's left diagonal, making Qa5+ appetizing without something like c3 to block it.
Sometimes I open with pawn to f4. It is a week opening but it always makes for a different game. That throws some players off a little. Then I "try" - key word - to Queen side castle.
I usually play 1. h3, g4 or Na3
My favorite is knight to h3 and rhg1
Thanks for the tip
