Kudos for you on using a big enough target!!!! So many folks shoot at notebook size targets and then complain that their pattern sucks when there most of the pattern is more than likely off the paper.

Great demonstration Tony. I have a 870 also, and love it. Thanks for the video.

HuntFlorida TV I know what you mean. Mine is sentimental to me too. I bought it while in the Army in Korea. So it's a keeper for sure. Thanks again Tony.

I'm pretty sure the choke is one of the 2 main factors here. Choke plus longbeards . Deadbird

FYI the average step is about 30 inches per US Army standards . You are about 35 yards at 40 steps.

Good to know, thank you! I end up stepping off trees and other "markers" in the field, so at least I'm being consistent. :)

Tony, Thanks for sharing. You owe it to yourself to get yourself a softer shooting semi auto (gas). It will save your shoulder especially when you get older.

351WINCHESTER I will think about that for my daughter. Thanks for suggestion!

If you are determined to hunt with that gun-being a fixed choke,to ETHICALLY kill a turkey you probably shouldn't shoot over 30-35 yds. at the MAX.

Too long, would have fit nicely into 12 minutes if repetitive explanations weren't given. Also, for your shotgun you might try Federal MAG SHOK turkey loads with FliteControl wads as they perform their best around your choke constriction (as opposed to all those 'turkey' chokes). Also, shot size has a huge effect on kill zone pellet counts...smaller shot giving higher density / counts, but less per pellet energy and lower velocity at range. I do enjoy your videos...keep 'em coming!

I appreciate the constructive feedback and your recommendations. And I just bought a box of, jeez, I forgot the brand, but they say they are best fired out of a modified choke. So, I will see if they do better than the Hevi-Shot Magnum Blend in MY gun.

James Crawford....The flite control wad SUCKS....PERIOD. The Federal line of Heavyweight shells were RUINED by the flite control wad. Just because something works for you doesn't mean it's good for this fella. His best option is either the Blend, straight 6s in H13 or Longbeards for his fixed barrel shotgun.
