Hey, I'm the project leader for this map here :) I want to answer a few quick questions I've been getting and to try to clear up some confusion. 1. To escape the ghost during a hunt, you basically need to do one of the following: (a) Put as many doors between you and it as possible. The ghost is programmed to always know where you are *if a hunt starts very close to the targeted player*. Putting doors between you and it is how you escape. The ghost is also programmed to be able to change targets if you escape during a hunt to other players in the game, so watch out! (b) Buy Crucifixes, Smudge Sticks, Voodoo Dolls (exp items) & Master Keys (exp items). I increased the lethality of the ghost in a recent update to help fight against how powerful certain items are in the game, so until you earn enough money to buy these items, the ghost is going to feel insanely OP. (PS) The pathfinding has gone through 3 iterations roughly, mostly due to Minecraft's lack of options. The way it works is it utilizes the "Zombie chasing a Villager" mechanic with some pathfinding assistance on doors to help it give chase. 2. Optifine -> Dynamic Lights makes the flashlight perform a weak "lighting bubble" effect around you, this is the intended point of the flashlight. Otherwise you get blinded inside. 3. The four house maps are designed for 1-2 players. Prison, Grimwood, and Ferry are designed for 3-4 players as having 4 players searching for a room was very easy on smaller maps. 4. If you play again, message me. **I have a cheat code programmed in to let you start with some money so you can experience more of the items** :) 5. Grimwood Manor and Ferry of the Damned are 100% custom maps designed primarily by my lead builder Med. We came together and had a rough draft layout, and we went above and beyond and created stunning detail to these custom projects. It would be an absolute pleasure to see either of them end up in the actual Phas game someday. 6. Lighting does affect the sanity drain rate. Sanity is actually programmed to roughly match the way the actual Phas game plays. I should also add, ghosts all begin to act the same when the average sanity approaches zero. 7. (Haven't finished watching yet) You have to turn on the Exp items using the settings button in the menu GUI. 8. This was a community project with no monetization whatsoever. It was a labor of love, as well as a challenge to myself to discover if I had what it takes to someday move over to indie game design. 9. Yes absolutely play this map in Multiplayer, it supports 1-4. 10. Nightmare mode was added as a joke, and ironically I added it right before the actual game updated with it. A friend was like "lul what if nobody ever had sanity?" So Nightmare mode was born, where it drains sanity lightning fast and I gave the ghost a bonus mechanic involving cameras ;) 11. The "player heads" are from online databases. All of the physical items in the game were designed in 3D modeling software and imported into the game using the RP.
I'm not sure he saw this comment, but I just want to tell you that this map is insanely cool and you (and everyone who worked on it) did amazing stuff!

This is what the chat was talking about: The flashlight looks better, and lights up around you, if you use "Optifine", which is a simple mod that improves performance of the game and adds many additional visual settings. "Dynamic Lights" is supposed to make light-emitting objects (like torches and lamp blocks) give off light while you hold them. (The author also asks that if you use Optifine, to *disable* "Connected Textures", otherwise it will break the models). It doesn't seem to be a requirement though. It does seem like a super fun project regardless! "Items will despawn" In MInecraft, if you throw an item on the ground, if you are close enough for an item to load into the world, It will despawn in five minutes. The house is definitely close enough for the item to stay loaded, So it would have despawned after 5 minutes. This is why it's always better to find a container for an item.
about the despawning items: the map creators could've made the items undespawnable using commands (don't know whether they did, but I know that it's possible)
i tested with the map and everything installed items do not despawn i setup a camera and put a bunch of items on the floor and they never despawned after a good 20 minutes
Ikr, It's very impressive that someone actually made this game inside another game and sometimes even added other thing to make it more fun. (Shoutout to Specter on Roblox and of course the Minecraft version of Phasmo Insym is playing in the video)

I'm just almost an hour in, so I don't know if he finds out later: Hunts can either be canceled by some items OR by bringing as many CLOSED doors between you and the ghost. It can smash only 3-4 per hunt, meaning that the target should be to run away as far as possible and closing as many doors as possible while doing this. At 1:04:57 for example you can hear the ghost destroying a door. Every ghost is able to do that but, as I said, with a limit of 3 or 4 per hunt. Also, when going up in the mansion you can turn left and reach another secret hallway. That's the one that has been talked about in the map introduction. Moreover, the difference between "Nothing Detected" and "No reply" is that "No reply" means the ghost is currently in this room but does not want to talk (so if you see this you could rule out demon, as it will always reply) and "Nothing Detected" means that the ghost isn't currently in your room. Edit: He noticed that! Also: When playing singleplayer: Opening the books freezes the game, so nothing can happen while reading a book. You can see that by looking at particles in the background while opening one! When you click on the redstone comparator in the hotbar while in the main menu, you can enable experimental ghosts cuz they are not active by default. Edit 2: He also noticed!
Opening a book does NOT freeze default Minecraft, as I have been blown up by a creeper (Aww man) whilst using a book & quill in survival mode. Fortunately I survived the explosion, but I don't think my horse did. This happened over a year ago and was on the "Bedrock" version (Pocket Edition, XBox, Windows 10, Playstation) Insym was playing on Java Edition which is slightly different to bedrock

In Spectator mode in Minecraft, you can click on any entity and enter their vision. You probably accidentally clicked on the ghost, so that's why you "became" the ghost
It was probably a bug. The ghost isn't a entity you can see the vision of because its an invisible armor stand. Also if he did change to its vision it would not have the camera text still.
I can confirm this is correct. I utilized spectate mode for cameras for a few reasons I don't recall, and unfortunately you can link onto the ghost. I wasn't entirely sure how to "unmount a player" from an entity using commands, so I just figured it could be a funny easter egg :P
The team that made this game spent a ton of time on it. They must really love phasmo because you can see the dedication the put into this build. Bravo to the mod creators! It's awesome. :D
49:46 the reason why it look smaller is because of ceiling and the furniture. The furniture made it look like it has smaller space while it seems like the 2nd floor's floor and is connected to the ceiling of first floor And also the wall 1:10:03 kills me 1:19:24 those are added since nether update added those are soul torch 2:57:40 yes they do for some reason mobs can climb while villager can't.
Fun story; I legit had a dream about an update in phasmo where they added a ghost. The ghost would be highly protective of one player, lingering around wherever the player went and offering support like healing (Dream logic I guess?) However, it would be super aggressive towards others. So when I saw the 'Funnel' ghost, I was so thrown. Like, I only told two people about the dream, and both are my phasmo buddies XDD
Dude this is incredible. I'm so impressed by the new ghosts and maps that they came up with. The TRex ghost, the REVERSE BANSHEE!! that sounds so cool!!! They nailed it lol, you HAVE to play this with Cj and Psycho
Grimwood manor is like the Asylum of Minecraft. It's so big in fact, that they had to decrease the sanity drain because it was so fast before, you would get chain hunted before you even got off the first floor. Also the red wall with signs on it (at 1:14:17) has a secret in it. You can clip through some blocks, and the ghost can sometimes be in this portion as well, making it harder to find for new players.
*Ghosts punches Insym twice* "Are you friendly?" but these new ghosts ideas are really cool, didnt expect there to be more ways you could make the ghosts be unique and interesting, but the bloody mary is really nice, the other ones are pretty sweet too
I love the yandere ghost. I really hope that some of these ghost ideas somehow get implemented in phasmo. I'm sure the developer of this Minecraft version wouldn't mind all that much.
This experimental ghosts are insane. They should make a ghost thats called "The wanderer", that does have a favourite room, so its always moving from one place to another
ive played the map and done some mild testing with my knowledge of Minecraft commands and such The D.O.T.S projector actually marks the ghosts location within the square ti covers, via faint grey particles The cameras are slightly buggy on changing, crouching and pressing E seems to make it more consistent The EMF gives a constant level 3 when right next to the ghost, letting you find its location without the DOTS Salt doesnt actually give footprints, but just the ghost stepping in it counts for the objective The ghost picks a block somewhere in its room as its "spawn", this is where it will teleport to randomly, and where ghost orbs will spawn from, unsure if this is where hunt start from or not, but still best to put the crucifix on this spot the motion sensor just acts like the DOTS, but on a straight line, itll stay green if the ghost is actively standing in that said line, and it ignores players And lastly The best way to escape a hunt is to distance yours between it and you with as many doors as you can, the ghost cant walk thought doors in this! So the best strat when a hunt starts, if it sees you, it will follow you no matter what, and for five seconds after you break line of sight, try and break Line of sight for five seconds straight using doors, once that happens it will idle again and you can just stay put in a hiding spot, as it kills off an AOE from itself, meaning it can get you thought closet doors pretty easily. even if its just walking past them and hasnt seen you

I didn’t know Neo made Phasmo here… he’s made plenty of really cool game-like maps, and is really good with the technology of Minecraft. This is actually really cool to look at.
I know in the stream you said you wanted to wait to see how youtube liked this before playing more, but I think seeing your enjoyment of the game is all that needs to be seen to want to watch more!
Time to list a few things about some things. He missed a room in grim wood up the stairs to the left there is a small opening with signs blocking it which you can pass through it. That is why he could not find the ghost that first time cause he thought it was nothing but blocked off. The Dots projector is more than a way point it shows the ghost using particle effects like if you drank a potion in base game. It is very hard to notice it due to it being dark all the time. The ghost is a zombie that randomly walks around the house and is unable to phase through doors so it has to be open for the ghost to get to places. Also it randomly teleports back to the ghost room in a very specific block location and not only that but it is possible to punch it and get the whiff sound as if you were punching an invincible player or boat. As he did once he did get the POV of the ghost and it is possible to set up a camera in the way the ghost would walk so you can spectate the zombies POV and see some hidden stuff. Other than that the loading zones are just a 2x2 room always above the map your going to also if it breaks at any point use the /gamerule maxCommandChainLength 1 to disable all the things that make the game work and go to the spot your suppose to be then change the 1 to 10000000 or something and it will reset. It has a surprisingly good memory. Also items never despawn due to it refreshing them with functions beyond me. Lastly teleport to X=5055 Y=64 Z=4927 you can see a chart and some pigs that seem to store data for the journal and ghost. Probably a data pack it uses but there might be an entire command block system out there. Can't find it but good luck with that. Be cool if anyone finds anything. Phew... other than all that that's some stuff you probably never knew or will read. With that I'm out till next time.
Yea haha, you found my rng pig farm. I used random selection commands targeting those pigs to simulate certain rng options in the game. It's all data packs, and the wolf is a global entity tracker. Think of it like computer rom (not ram). The session data is tracked on it instead of players to avoid logout issues.
That's pretty cool. I do enjoy learning how games utilize these kind of functions. Got to say you made a very impressive system. Keep up the good work :).
@@weegee6628 it took a LONG time to code. Grimwood (ignoring the build which was days by itself) took like 3-4 days worth to code, and several days to test. I had a huge issue with Minecraft pathfinding where the zombie/ghost couldnt hunt a player on a different floor, even if the path was clear. I had to code custom pathfinding assistance to help it reach the stairs, then aim at a player. The same is used on the catwalks of Prison.
This stream was awesome! Can't wait for the next. You should definitely play paranormica and specter if you decide to play roblox phasmo. They're well made and love playing it with my friends, actually, it was the first time me and my older brother was introduced to a ghost hunting game before we knew about phasmophobia!

2:04:20 I would like for a noise control the ghosts in Phasmo could do would be to stop the "hum" momentarily. It's creepy on first few entries, but once you take it as "the sound of the house", it loses it's impact. I would be super cool to be in the house, then it just get deathly silent all of a sudden. That would be so unsettling.
just so people know, this isn't a mod! you don't need to download any mods or plugins for this, it's all included in the world file, so you just put it in your saves folder. pretty awesome map!

I loved how Minecraft Phasmophobia remains faithful to the game it’s based off of, yet it adds it’s own unique flavor to the game! If you ever want to consider “Minecraft Phasmophobia,” consider Specter 2, which is in a similar style to Phasmophobia and is currently in the testing phase.
New maps are probably way too big to be played normally. Maybe if the thermo wasn't so slow as well it'd at least managable but as it is they're a bit too much right now. They're a good idea but the execution needs work.
You know everything updates so slowly because too much things like executing checks (execute if/at/as etc) will lag ur game or server. I modified refresh rate of thermometer and yep tps went to 15 on high-end server (and with 4 players that was unplayable)
Thermo needed a nerf, in early testing it was on a 2s refresh clock and it made finding the ghost room super easy. I personally was not a fan of the temperature changes they made in the real Phas game, so I elected to slow down the thermo rather than redesign a new temperature mechanic.

Insym, here are some tips for Phasmophobia in Minecraft. You can't hide in this game, even though there are closets. So you have to loop the ghosts. It's difficult to get spirit box so you have to spam it around the ghost room. Lastly, get optifine. It's the only way for you to use the flashlight.
you can hide you have to close a few doors behind you so the ghost have to break the doors to get to you can take longer and they get idle after some time

In Spectator mode in Minecraft, you can click on any entity and enter their vision.
You probably accidentally clicked on the ghost, so that's why you "became" the ghost
It was probably a bug. The ghost isn't a entity you can see the vision of because its an invisible armor stand. Also if he did change to its vision it would not have the camera text still.

I can confirm this is correct. I utilized spectate mode for cameras for a few reasons I don't recall, and unfortunately you can link onto the ghost. I wasn't entirely sure how to "unmount a player" from an entity using commands, so I just figured it could be a funny easter egg :P

Fun story; I legit had a dream about an update in phasmo where they added a ghost. The ghost would be highly protective of one player, lingering around wherever the player went and offering support like healing (Dream logic I guess?) However, it would be super aggressive towards others. So when I saw the 'Funnel' ghost, I was so thrown. Like, I only told two people about the dream, and both are my phasmo buddies XDD

All of the experimental ghosts were ideas I had when playing the real Phas. It was a ton of fun working them into this project.
Not gonna lie, would love to see Insym play this with CJ and psycho. I would love to see how phasmo dev teams react to this amazing fan creation!

he game sets you on spectator mode, and you probably right clicked (while the ghost was near the camera) and you started spectating the ghost
The ghost should make vanilla minecraft noises. Imagine a ghost going behind you and making the creeper noise lol
Grimwood manor is like the Asylum of Minecraft. It's so big in fact, that they had to decrease the sanity drain because it was so fast before, you would get chain hunted before you even got off the first floor. Also the red wall with signs on it (at 1:14:17) has a secret in it. You can clip through some blocks, and the ghost can sometimes be in this portion as well, making it harder to find for new players.

but these new ghosts ideas are really cool, didnt expect there to be more ways you could make the ghosts be unique and interesting, but the bloody mary is really nice, the other ones are pretty sweet too
I love the yandere ghost. I really hope that some of these ghost ideas somehow get implemented in phasmo. I'm sure the developer of this Minecraft version wouldn't mind all that much.

This experimental ghosts are insane. They should make a ghost thats called "The wanderer", that does have a favourite room, so its always moving from one place to another
that one would be cool, just like how theres one that doesnt move its room

ive played the map and done some mild testing with my knowledge of Minecraft commands and such
The D.O.T.S projector actually marks the ghosts location within the square ti covers, via faint grey particles
The cameras are slightly buggy on changing, crouching and pressing E seems to make it more consistent
The EMF gives a constant level 3 when right next to the ghost, letting you find its location without the DOTS
Salt doesnt actually give footprints, but just the ghost stepping in it counts for the objective
The ghost picks a block somewhere in its room as its "spawn", this is where it will teleport to randomly, and where ghost orbs will spawn from, unsure if this is where hunt start from or not, but still best to put the crucifix on this spot
the motion sensor just acts like the DOTS, but on a straight line, itll stay green if the ghost is actively standing in that said line, and it ignores players
And lastly
The best way to escape a hunt is to distance yours between it and you with as many doors as you can, the ghost cant walk thought doors in this! So the best strat when a hunt starts, if it sees you, it will follow you no matter what, and for five seconds after you break line of sight, try and break Line of sight for five seconds straight using doors, once that happens it will idle again and you can just stay put in a hiding spot, as it kills off an AOE from itself, meaning it can get you thought closet doors pretty easily. even if its just walking past them and hasnt seen you

Time to list a few things about some things.
He missed a room in grim wood up the stairs to the left there is a small opening with signs blocking it which you can pass through it. That is why he could not find the ghost that first time cause he thought it was nothing but blocked off.
The Dots projector is more than a way point it shows the ghost using particle effects like if you drank a potion in base game. It is very hard to notice it due to it being dark all the time.
The ghost is a zombie that randomly walks around the house and is unable to phase through doors so it has to be open for the ghost to get to places. Also it randomly teleports back to the ghost room in a very specific block location and not only that but it is possible to punch it and get the whiff sound as if you were punching an invincible player or boat.
As he did once he did get the POV of the ghost and it is possible to set up a camera in the way the ghost would walk so you can spectate the zombies POV and see some hidden stuff.
Other than that the loading zones are just a 2x2 room always above the map your going to also if it breaks at any point use the /gamerule maxCommandChainLength 1 to disable all the things that make the game work and go to the spot your suppose to be then change the 1 to 10000000 or something and it will reset. It has a surprisingly good memory.
Also items never despawn due to it refreshing them with functions beyond me.
Lastly teleport to X=5055 Y=64 Z=4927 you can see a chart and some pigs that seem to store data for the journal and ghost. Probably a data pack it uses but there might be an entire command block system out there. Can't find it but good luck with that. Be cool if anyone finds anything.

Yea haha, you found my rng pig farm. I used random selection commands targeting those pigs to simulate certain rng options in the game.
It's all data packs, and the wolf is a global entity tracker. Think of it like computer rom (not ram). The session data is tracked on it instead of players to avoid logout issues.
That's pretty cool. I do enjoy learning how games utilize these kind of functions. Got to say you made a very impressive system. Keep up the good work :).
@@weegee6628 it took a LONG time to code. Grimwood (ignoring the build which was days by itself) took like 3-4 days worth to code, and several days to test.
I had a huge issue with Minecraft pathfinding where the zombie/ghost couldnt hunt a player on a different floor, even if the path was clear. I had to code custom pathfinding assistance to help it reach the stairs, then aim at a player. The same is used on the catwalks of Prison.

New maps are probably way too big to be played normally. Maybe if the thermo wasn't so slow as well it'd at least managable but as it is they're a bit too much right now. They're a good idea but the execution needs work.
You know everything updates so slowly because too much things like executing checks (execute if/at/as etc) will lag ur game or server. I modified refresh rate of thermometer and yep tps went to 15 on high-end server (and with 4 players that was unplayable)
Thermo needed a nerf, in early testing it was on a 2s refresh clock and it made finding the ghost room super easy.
I personally was not a fan of the temperature changes they made in the real Phas game, so I elected to slow down the thermo rather than redesign a new temperature mechanic.

Insym, here are some tips for Phasmophobia in Minecraft. You can't hide in this game, even though there are closets. So you have to loop the ghosts. It's difficult to get spirit box so you have to spam it around the ghost room. Lastly, get optifine. It's the only way for you to use the flashlight.
you can hide you have to close a few doors behind you so the ghost have to break the doors to get to you can take longer and they get idle after some time
you can clearly see that the flashlight works tho
