Nice Review! I have been using Scrintal for couple of weeks now and loving it. I have tried many note taking apps but Srintal suites for my workflow of blog post publishing. Helps in researching faster. It is a great tool for visual thinkers. Recently Scrintal added export options.
Please do a review of Heptabase! If I'm being perfectly honest, I'm rather partial to the app. I'm quite fond of this small three-person team's approach to the visual note-taking app sub-genre (and prefer it over Scrintal's). It's amazing what they've been able to accomplish so far, and I'm excited to see where they'll be by the end of this year. Only time will tell, but I'm quite optimistic!

Sign up for the tool, not many mind-mapping note taking apps have bidirectional linking so I'm really interesting in it. Hope they have a good team and build a wonderful product.

Thanks for your comment! It is true that we are at an early stage missing several features. Since we prioritize providing an intuitive, nice-to-use experience, we're paying a lot of attention not to create clutter of features. So we chose building in public and learning from our audience instead of waiting which is why specific features are missing. On the bright side, people seem to enjoy their experience already in this version which is awesome! Please bear with us as we're rolling key features step by step.
PSA - Obsidian has already implemented a fully functional analogue to this, as a CORE plugin, on the experimental branch, but it's almost ready for public launch. You can fully use your Obsidian notes with it. It is incredible and has totally changed my workflow
@@mirkom.9413 it's currently available on the insider branch, they called it Canvas. I think you have to donate to get to the insider branch, but you don't have to as this will be coming to the full release fairly soon, I would assume as I have found no bugs so far

I'm long time user (also of Obsidian Sync), but this lack of general context and non-mind mappable layout wanted to make me look for alternative solutions, preferably keeping bidirectional linking. I wanted to switch back to xMind, but then longer texts don't look as searchable and flexible on it (and a single note or branch is not reusable or linkable in another context, maybe through hyperlinks). I'd like to try it out as soon as possible to see if it fits my needs or if I should switch. Is donation the only way?
@@MythologySkate Is there a way to create hierarchies on the canvas? Example: Map-> Topic 1-> Subtopic 1, Subtopic 2, Subtopic 3 .. and expand/toggle the Subtopics to Topic 1 when needed? Similar to a mindmap/xmind
Because we're still building it 😔 In other words, it is not ready yet to be launched to masses which is why we're slowly getting people in so we can learn from them. We are also a very small team to handle large batches. Please bear with us while we're doing our best to get there as soon as possible.
