Ok, so I've listened to a few different people sing this song (Laura Osnes included) and I still think that Meghann's is most accurate and here's why. I tend to see musical song covers as just being little clips from that show, and I think that the very simple and straight-forward style of this rendition was most accurate to Sam's character - a little lost at the time of this song, but still very steady and understated. I like that quality of Sam's and I love that quality in Meghann's version.
Say The Word Sometimes when I look at you, I don’t know why you’d wait. School girl in a little world Who learns everything late. I’ve always had all the answers Now I don’t have a clue Some nights when the clouds are thick, And the wind starts to blow. I stare out my window Wondering where I will go. I turn the light out Under the covers all I think of is you. Just you. Say the word And I just might listen. Say the word, And you might get your way. Loving you should be easier But say the word, And I might have to stay. Meanwhile there’s so many things That I don’t understand. I don’t know why I tremble When you reach for my hand. I didn’t know how to love Until you swept me away. Say the word And I just might listen. Say the word, And you might get your way. Loving you should be easier But say the word, And I might have to stay. I wanna love. I wanna ride. I want to be the girl There by your side. Just tell me when, Just tell me how. Tell me I’m ready now. Today. Say… Say the word And I just might listen. Say the word, And you might get your way. Loving you should be easier But say the word, And I might have to stay.
Hi! I am singing say the word for an audition soon and i was wondering if it would be possible for someone to tell me more about the musical. I have done some research online but i cant find to much on Sam's character or the given circumstances before this song and what leads her into singing this song. Any help about the musical's plot would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks x
Question: I read somewhere that Patti Murin orginated this role of Samantha Brown, which begs the question why isn't there a video of her singing "Say the Word"??
I love Meghann's voice. It's just clear and beautiful- perfect for this song.
Meghann sounds like an angel!
I'm mesmerized.... by her beauty & talent!

incredible ! I love this music ! fantastic .
beautiful!
her voice could be used as a disney princess' voice :)
@GenerationBright I just miss the show!!
Here from Relax the podcast 💗
Wasn't this the actress who was in the Hallmark movie, "The Lost Valentine"? She was great in that film, and I didn't realize she could sing, too!
I don't think dead eyes, I think she was acting like she wasn't sure what she wanted and the song kind of expresses that.
Thank you so much!(:
Does anyone know where I can find the storyline for this show? I'd like to know more about this show and how all the music fits into it
Meghan's prettyyy

Jacob Mendoza who knows! The boot I have of her is so good
I love this song. Where can i find the lyrics?
2:34
Somebody knows where I can upload her version ?
What show is this from?
what key did she sing this in?
Who wrote that song?
Good but I wish she had belted it. It reduced the emotion of the song.
But some people can't belt in certain places in their voice.
IMO a singer shouldn’t have to belt to get across the emotion of a song.
Does she has any imperfection somewhere? OMG
a trace of barbara pelvin omg
Her voice is too soft. They should have turned up her microphone.
she looks like kristen stewart
she's like a pretty Mandy Moore.
Pitchy and weak
"Pitchy" is not a real musical term of any sort, fyi. That being said, at what point was she not exactly on pitch?
Dead eyes
